Marginal Changes to 2010 Honda Ridgeline

Marginal Changes to 2010 Honda Ridgeline

Honda is making only marginal changes to the unibody Ridgeline pickup for 2010 after last year's mid-lifecyle styling refresh (please see our 2009 Honda Ridgeline road test).

Three new exterior colors are available: Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Polished Metal Metallic. There are no new features or component changes.

An all-new Ridgeline is likely to replace the current model by 2011.

Comments

The comments you guys are making in regards to the Ridgeline are laughable.

I have had 2 Dakota 6 cylinders, and a couple of Rangers. One was 2wd and the other a 4wd. None of those trucks could hold a candle to the Ridgeline. People who buy Ridgelines don't need to pull 10k lb loads. If we do, we borrow our neighbor's problem ridden, rough riding full sized trucks.

People who buy Ridgelines like them. Look at the satisfaction ratings for the Ridgeline. They are way higher than those for Ford, GM, and Dodge trucks. There must be a reason for this.

You guys scoff at what the Ridgeline can't do. Let me tell you, I couldn't get a 4 X 8' sheet of plywood flat on the floor in any of the other 4 trucks I had. I didn't have enough storage in any of the other trucks I had unless I added a cargo box in the bed which made the bed SHORTER than the one I have in my Ridgeline.

I also would like to be able to use my kidneys into my later years of life. My other "trucks" beat the crap out of them.

I recently drove a 4wd 4 liter Ranger and quite frankly don't know how I ever dealt with all of that bouncing and rocking. I damn near rolled it over getting off of the freeway because I forgot you can't take a corner in a real truck with authority.

No, the Ridgeline doesn't get 30 mpg but that is because it is a truck. Honda can't defy physics. If you have a truck like profile cutting into the wind, you are going to get truck like gas mileage. (I get about 22 mpg on the highway.)

It is as much of a truck as a Ranger, Dakota 6 cylinder, a Sport Trac, or a Colorado and can do everything that that these trucks can but does it better and in more comfort.

Comparing the Ridgeline to a F350 or Cummins Diesel is like comparing a F350 or a Cummins Diesel to a Kenworth or a Peterbilt. You guys just don't get it.

I'm a former F-150 owner, the truck sucked. I absolutely hated it. It was uncomfortable, felt like driving a semi, didn't get any better mileage than the Ridgeline and was way too big for daily driving.

I now own an '08 Ridgeline. I love it. It's small enough that I can park it anywhere, unlike the big "real" trucks that have the back stick out into the lanes and are always parked crooked. I tow a trailer with my car on it (4600# combined) plus a couple hundred pounds of gear in the bed a few times every month. Never had an issue. Pulls great, comfortable ride and i get an avg of 15mpg towing. Just because it's smaller than the big 3 trucks doesn't mean it's any less of a truck. I only needed something that could tow 5000# and the Ridgeline was it.

90% of the "real" trucks I see have NEVER towed anything! Why buy such a big gas wasting POS and only use it as a car. Go buy a prius you stupid soccer mom and dads!

love it, so many haters and downers about what they think about the Honda Ridgeline and Howie's Commercial about the honda lawn mower..LOL.

1. Well, they started out small i.e honda lawnmower and honda civic. Best fuel for a small car back in its days when the Big 3 was still building Large boxes on wheels that gets crappy gas milage i.e the petrol shortage in the 70's and 80's.

2. Its a Honda, honda's history in making their product, they last a long time with very little to no major tune ups. Very reliable when you need it, You can use it for long drives knowing you wont be stuck somewhere midway.

3. The cost, yes the average price is higher than most "Trucks" but in comparison to what you get in accessories and quality build. Well, most of you who complain its not american built, HELLO, yes its american built with a foreign name. The plant Honda builds these trucks is in one of many Honda plants is in Alabama or somewhere in that region.

4. Like everyone says, its built the way the honda engineers built it for. If you need something bigger or guzzler, don't buy a honda, buy a "REAL" truck that you may probably use it once or twice to haul 100 dead trees that's been chopped down to toothpicks, or Dirt that can cover a football field 3 ft deep. GEEEZZZ people, what the heck are you guys building. A row of track housing or a park??

5. Why is it, in marketing, when people need to compare something, they compare things that is doing well as a product, gets the best milage for gas, comfort, design, best resale value, best styling, great product. Howie could have used and compared the Saturn, Mercedes, Porsche, Daewoo, Ferrari, and Toyota. And YES these company makes vehicles that's also in the truck business commercial and consumer products. Why is it has to be a honda?? well, its the best product for all mentioned above while utilizing a V6 engine, a very efficient V6 engine with ULEV emmission engine.
Comparing the big 3 to not making a lawnmower....after they have wasted your hard earned money to bail them out of their mistakes, they will start making lawnmowers to bail their buts out.

Like everyone said, its made for the people who loves trucks that drives like a car. Also, allows the owners to use it like a truck, but with the comfort of a car.

7. What truck vehicles in the market today that doesn't loose its value once you drive off the lot. I mean a large chunk value, not the normal depreciation value like most products that leave the company lot...Ridgeline is the only truck has a high resale value compared to any other trucks in the market.

I hope honda reconsiders and put in a V6 diesel version of the Honda Ridgeline and ULEV diesel engine.

Yeah you all can keep your bankrupt pieces of GM and
Dodge crap. I've owned them so know first hand.

And if someone has marginal credit that is all they can
afford is a GM/Dodge. Since have to beg to give them
away.

At the moment still have one GM and thinking ridding that
thing soon. Its typical GM crap, poor workmanship.

The ridgeline has been the best riding, easy to park.
truck had. Worst was that 08 F250 diesel. It only
lasted 6 month, traded it on a Lexus.

Yep anti so call american company since union owned
and took taxpayers to the cleaner

It's amazing to see the amazing amount of ignorance and just simple bias on this website. What's wrong with these Ridgeline bashers? To preface my comment, I was an auto technician for over twenty years. I've owned every type of pickup available. For the last ten years I've driven Toyotas. I remember the days when the redneck population wouldn't "spit on a Toyota," much less drive one. Hasn't that changed? Honda has just surpassed Toyota as the most reliable and most purchased vehicle in many categories. Before I purchased my Ridgeline, I test-drove several Toyotas. Every 4WD Toyota I drove rattled my teeth over every bump and handled like an old Lincoln Town Car. Most of my friends had Fords and Chevys and they were back at the dealer for warranty repair more than they were driven. I test drove the Ridgeline and I was sold. It handled and rode better than many cars and its payload capacity was better than the Tacoma. Granted, it struggles when pulling 5000 lbs., but so what? It handles light to moderate off-roading adequately, and rides on the highway like a car. It offers full control of its stability systems and the 4WD systems including differential lock-up. The interior room is equal to that of a full-sized Tundra and greater than that of many "full-sized" Chevys and Fords. I'm not sure what this knee-jerk objection is to the Ridgeline, but I'm certain it comes mostly from the Neanderthal mentality. Possibly borderline mentally retarded. For the freaks out there who wish to bash without experiencing the Ridgeline, keep hiding in your hole.

Yeah, so what the Ridgeline has a unibody design... I bet if any of the Big 3 or Big 2 ( I lost count... does Fiat count?), had done what Honda did... people like Ford FanBoy (name fail), would be all over it.

But stick with the 3-piece trucks... I'm sure they will do you proud. And while the domestic automakers keep siphoning your money via Federal Government, because they want it, you gladly bow to them. I had a 95 Yukon... I loved that truck, but I will admit, the Ridgeline is possibly the best truck I have ever driven. Im not knocking Dodge, Ford, and Chevy... but the RL shouldn't be compared to full-sized trucks... or SUV's. Its got every characteristic as any truck on the market. Use it within its designed capabilities and it will do you well. I guarantee 5 yrs. from now... this truck will have a higher resale value than any Ford on the market.

"6)"i remember the bed creases people get from going off road". Umm what? No idea what you are talking about. The Ridgeline handles occasional offroad duty just fine and without undue damage. Not designed for the harshest offroad stuff but then 82% of pickups never or almost never go offroad. (http://www1.eere.energy.gov/vehiclesandfuels/facts/2006_fcvt_fotw405.html) The Ridgeline completed the Baja 1000 - offroad enough for you?"
- sjbe
actually, the Ridgeline won the 2008 Baja 1000 in the stock mini truck class.

Any company getting government bailouts meant they made trash that people refused to buy after they get burned over and over again.

In my simple mind, Honda is surviving without bailouts except for the clunker program, which it doesn't need because it makes products that people want, meet peoples needs, are reliable and has amazing resale across it's product line.

If a company makes trash regardless what their zealot fanboys say, they go to bankruptcy court, plain and simple.

Trash product making companies can never survive in the long run without bailouts.Trash making companies have amazing fanbase who refused to admit that their vehicles are inferior no matter what proof is served down their throats, so I wont even list the 12 awards the Ridgeline got on it's first foray to the truck market.

I'll stick to my wimpy ridgeline, at 108,000 miles, no hiccoughs, Ive only changed my rear brakes, and a set of tires. Can't say the same thing for my step brother who loves his FORD F-150 delearship which services and repairs a vehicle which lives to it's moniker big time: Found on the Road dead.

Nice post. Honda Ridgeline is a pickup truck, its look is not so good. Honda Ridgeline has nice features like 3.5Liter, SOHC 24-valve, V-6 giving out 250bhp @247lb-ft of torque, There front-engine four-wheel-drive, four-door, five passenger pickup is mated to a 5-speed automatic. Handling and braking is same as older version. Interior are quite good like rearview camera and Bluetooth on the top-line RTL/Navigational trim. For more details refer http://www.macktruck.org/2009-honda-ridgeline-review.html

Why all the animosity toward each other? Ridgelines are made for a completely different market than full-sized pick ups. They are for people who want a larger, comfortable vehicle, who occasionally want or need to utilize a truck bed. Honda hit that nail square on the head with the Ridgeline. For the Honda haters out there, I think it's because you realize that American cars are struggling as of late, and are extremely defensive when it comes to Honda creeping in to the truck market. The Ridgeline is not going to replace your heavy duty truck. Period. Nobody can argue that point.

My 2007 Ridgeline RTX with 34,000 miles gets 17 mpg real world driving combing city with highway mileage. Dont see how I could get 24 mpg unless I was coasting downhill.

Otherwise, it has been a great truck and the trunk in the bed has been a great feature giving weather proof cargo capacity without invading the passenger compartment.

Mine is a lease so it gets turned back in 2 months, but since Honda hasnt released a clean diesel providing a significant increase in mpg, I am not considering getting another one at this time.

I work for Honda and they WILL NOT be discountinuing the Ridgeline. Whoever your room mate is, he is an idiot for saying that. We can not keep Ridgelines on the lot. They sell faster than they come in. My used car manager trades and buys as many as he can, again, they are sold as soon as they are on the lot.

For all of you "real truck" rednecks, Honda built this truck for everyday use, not for work. I am a homeowner and this is my everyday rider. It works perfect for what I need it to do, haul small things here and there for everyday jobs around my house and get me where I need to go with a comfortable ride.

Ford fan boy- you read reviews by magazines, talk to any Ridge owner and they will tell you about the comfortability being the best.
Interior quality is the best, we have a Ford and GMC dealership and they are chincy inside.
It's a Honda idiot, more reliabe than any vehicle on the road.
It def has more room, trying fitting 5 people in your Ford comfortably. 3 people in the back of my Ridge and they have more than enough leg room and they're not smashing each other at the hips.
"your dinky storage space is also filled with the tire. no much storage can happen here" learn proper english. There is def more than "no more storage" to happen.
Bed creases Do Not Happen!

Look.. I bought my RTL last year, off the lot 08 model, and I got it for 9k under sticker. So for those who are saying that it's overpriced, you're obviously accustomed to dealing with US manufacture dealerships. When they put 43k on the sticker for their top of the line model (where's the nav??.. oh its optional) they want you to pay $42,999.99. Meanwhile I got my Ridge, with 23 miles on it, + navigation + heated seats + plenty of room + in bed trunk + towing package + everything I'd ever need it for (doesn't read hauling a 40 ft trailer, or 10,000 lbs of bricks) does read, trips to the woods with 2 bikes in the back, pulling my s2000 to and from the track, comfortable daily driver and I got it for $27k out the door? There really was nothing else out there for me. You cant even get a top of the line Colorado.. or whatever that thing is for that kind of money. And those interiors are inexcusable..its less capable, uncomfortable to drive..there's just no comparison. Honda, the Ridge is good, don't let the haters phase you.

I mean what's the deal with the option pricing on the full size trucks? Am I buying a BMW? I recently priced a Chevy 1500 well over 50 grand...that's just ridiculous.

I own a ridgeline and LOVE it. IT does just what I need it to. You buy what you want. You drive what you want. Lets all be happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought the '06 Ridgeline in 6/05. I believe that I was the first Ridgeline owner in my town (pop. 120K). Got alot of looks back then !! I also noticed that the American trucks felt obligated to pass me no matter how fast they had to exceed the speed-limit. Its that kind of attitude that kept me away from buying a UStruck, not to mention I was totally awed by the look, feel, handling, and dependability of this unit.
I call it my "City" truck. Honda has filled a otherwise lacking nitch in the truck genre. I looked at a used S10 (which they were asking "way" to much for) and compared to a new Ridgeline it just didn't !!
Well, over 4yrs later (50Kmiles) and the Ridgeline is look'n, driving, handling, and performing just as good as the day we drove it off the Honda dealer lot.
We have recently bought a Travel Trailer ('10) and it tows it just fine.
I didnt need a full-sized truck. I wanted something that I could pull into the garage, park, tow, haul, taxi the kids, and now camping.
Ive never off-road with this unit, no need to.
I believe we have been brain-washed by the US Auto makers that we need their Mammoth trucks to be an American. One reason I went w/Honda was noticing all these huge trucks during the drive into town for work that had only one person in it !!! (no, they were not in flannel shirts and blue-jeans)....
Let the Ford, Chevy, and Dodge owners say what they will, they have the truck they want, and I have the truck that I want..... Ill be getting another Ridgeline as soon as this one wears out. (perhaps another 5yrs)....

My 2006 Ridgeline has 93,000 miles and it's NEVER been in the shop for ANYTHING other than routine maintenance. It was inspected last week and it still has the same brake pads.

Just post the year to date sales??????????????

HONDA RiDGELINE = FAIL

ITO = FAIL

choshie111 = FAIL.

Don't mess with fordfanboy! PATRICK!!!!!!!

well at least Honda didn't have it's hand out for the "bailout " money... hmmm??
Great Truck

Year to date sales anyone?????????

Just bought a 2009 Honda Ridgeline RT. A Veteran On my way up the hill to 60 yrs old. Still Ride dirtbikes, cut n haul wood, deer hunt and Rv camp. So, I feel if the Ridge can do what I want it to do, so then be it! This is still a free country. I can deal with all the looks and boo hoo... I have owned 3 Ford Trucks, and they were good trucks for what I did then. I have owned 2 Chevy trucks and besides the engine(vortec), wished I would of stayed with Ford. Chevy/Gmc, since 1998, have had a steering column problem which apparently was a bad design. Problem is, even the New Chevy/Gmc trucks coming off the line, have the same problem. Some type of yoke that drys up and you get all kinds of noises coming out of the steering shaft. Clunks, clicks, thumping etc..., My wifes 2004 Tahoe was doing it also. Took it to the dealer, and only reason they replaced the steering shaft is because we had it in before for the same reason. One of the Chevy mechanics said his does it too and eventually the tahoe will do it again. Bad design from 98 and still not a fix for it. Come on... but, Lets face it, they all have there problems... Oh... by the way, The sticker on my 2009 Honda Ridgeline says Made in Lincoln, Alabama, started rolling off the line in Feb 09. Drive what you want to drive and If you haven't driven a ridgeline yet then how do you know if it is what you would like or not. Most full size trucks I see rolling down the roads today all have a Toneou Cover over there Bed, because it looks good. I thought you bought a truck to use it. So again, don't dis something unless you been there. I was brought up to always take care of my own peas, and not to worry about staying up with the Jones.
Enjoy your life and be happy with what you can do and have. Enjoy the Holiday and Have a Happy New Year.
I vote on bringing back the Fun of the 70's. The whole country was enjoying what you could.
Leo

I bought my Ridgeline new and have had it 4 years with absolutely no trouble. My three trucks and 1 SUV before the Ridgeline were extremely expensive to maintain and all round pain in the butts. I sometimes forget about how I needed to get bags of sand for the back of my previous trucks to get any traction. But whenever it snows I am reminded because of the trucks fishtailing all around me. Poor suckers!
I get 23 mpg and I don't weep over it. I car pool and my passengers really love the comfortable back seats. Anything they have that doesn't fit under the seats always fits in the trunk.
Bottom line is that I will drive my Ridgeline till it dies and then get another one.
;-)

Recent Purchase of 2009 Honda Ridgeline. I am older now and not in need of my full size pickups anymore. I picked the Ridgeline because it fit my lifestyle now. And I still cut n haul firewood, haul my dirt bikes, deer hunt and pull my rv with it and anything else I need to haul. Rides nice, plenty of power, nice seating and storage. Very versitile. 1st pull with the rv I got 14.3 mpg. Not bad,. My first vehicle with push button windows and locks and I am on my way to 60 yrs old. I am enjoying it. I don't really care about staying up with the Jones, kind of like taking care of my own peas. I am a Veteran and a Patriot of the USA, and by the way my Ridgeline was made in the USA in Lincoln, Alabama. Dis the lil Truck,Suv,cartruck all you want I can handle all of the laugh and boo hoo, but I am enjoying it. Most pickup trucks I see today have a toneou cover on the back of it and are doing nothing, except Loud mufflers and look good.(Smoke n Mirrors). So,, just my two cents
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year. Don't judge me and I won't judge you.

If honda can make a corporate jet ( see honda.com) I think they can build a better good truck, And they did! Oh yeah they make a good lawn mower also. :)

LOL LOL love the stupid comments that a Ridgeline is
not comparable to a large GM junk or a Ford pick. Well
no kiddin its not suppose to be. Lots of people dont need
a large hard to park, take up a whole garage to do minor
hauling truck. Most of the ones spouting off never haul
anything but a sack of mulch

I am on my second Ridgeline lease - for good reason. In addition to other happy owners' comments I add the following:
1. We live in a very cold, snowy environment from Nov to May (-14F as of this writing) The Ridge warms up VERY quickly, keeps the glass clear, and keeps me from ending up in the ditch when the road is iced up. Crazy me, buying a 4X4 to keep me on the road, not off. That little yellow triangle lights up a lot.
2. I tow a trailer 100 to 6,000 mi/year. The Ridge does not tow over 5,000lbs, but up to that weight it is a superb platform, giving me stability and control I'd never had with my Cherokees and domestic pickups.
3. The breaking is smooth and progressive and the pads/rotors seem to hold up beautifully.
4. It is an Ultra-low Emissions Vehicle
You can lay plywood and drywall flat in the box.
5. My 6'5" 258lb butt really appreciates the larger seats with the high quality memory foam.
6. I also appreciate looking out a windshield without bending my head.
7. Time will tell, but considering the harsh environment my Ridgelines have operated without a single flaw or failure.

I own a 2007 Ridgeline RTL. It is by far, the best overall truck I've owned. I don't tow yachts, horses or other peoples vehicles. I have helped them move, though. The space, layout, in bed trunk work great for my family of 4. Trips to the landscaping company, the local home shop are perfect. It will carry a washer/dryer, my Honda motorcycle, my Honda lawnmower and whatever I need. It was designed by a former GM engineer utilizing technologies that were not used by GM. He actually designed it for people that wanted more from a truck.

I've worked for auto dealerships for the past 15 years and have owned Chevrolet and Toyota trucks. I've been able to drive everything else. The Honda fits my lifestyle. My shop foreman has a Chevy dually. While it could probably tow my house, it's very long and rides like crap. I like the Ridgeline because it doesn't beat me up and gets me there in style. For those concerned about it's looks they grew on me and it's certainly what's on the inside that counts.

With all the rebates and fire sales listed lately, I pondered the idea of getting an FX4 or Sierra decked out but then I realized the only thing I'd be getting would be higher property taxes.

I've owned many Siverados...and Tundras...this little truck beats either of those in the snow and ice. I am amazed at the 4 wheel drive system... I love my Ridgeline..and I have owned and worked with trucks my entire life.

does anyone know how to import a phone book to the 2010 ridgeline finding it very difficult i thank anyones help in advance because honda doesn't know and at&t doesn't know .

Funny comments. I love the comparison of the ridgeline to the full size pickups. Why not just start comparing the towing capacity of a big rig to a civic? If you don't compare apples to apples, then the numbers mean nothing. Comparing one category vehicle to another is worthless. If Honda wanted the Ridgeline to tow 10,000 lbs, they would have designed it to do so. If Honda wanted the Ridgeline to have 350 HP, they would have designed it to do so. These aren't faults or shortcomings on Honda's part, they are designs. For what Honda designed the Ridgeline to do, it does well. If you need it to do something it was not designed to do, then buy something else. If I had a need to get 40 mpg, I would buy a hybrid. If I had a need to tow an 8,000 lbs trailer, I would buy something with a large towing capacity. Because a Ridgeline, or any smaller truck, can't achieve these tasks doesn't mean they are crap vehicles. No one ever slams the Ford Ranger for not towing 7,000 lbs. It is accepted that if you need to tow that much, you will buy something larger. I wouldn't slam a Mustang convertible because I can't take 5 kids to school in it. The other thing to keep in mind is that Honda has barely modified the Ridgeline since it came out. To compare the latest and greatest V8 fuel economy to an older V6 isn't fair. It's no different that Honda comparing their V6 economy to a 10-year-old-design V6. It has been proven that the newest engines get better fuel economy than engines that are even a few years old, regardless of who makes the engine. Every car manufacturer could update their engines every other year and make them slightly more efficient. The company would go broke from the R&D costs but it would turn out a more efficient engine. To make a fair comparison, you need to compare the latest engine from one manufacture to the latest engine from another manufacturer. Lastly, I don't know why Full Size American Truck owners feel the need to slam the Ridgeline. I don't like American Car Companies because I PERSONALLY feel there are reliability issues. Whether or not there are reliability issues, I won't buy one. As long as I feel there are issues, I simply elect to buy something else. If you don't like the Ridgeline, or any other vehicle, buy something else. That is the beauty of having a choice.

I purchased my 07 Avalanche new off the showroom floor. It was the most beutiful vehicle I have ever owned. I am not a contractor so buying an all out pickup was pointless. I mean really how many people really but a truck because they need it? Most people I know seldom tow a trailer with their trucks let alone haul serious payload. All of the comparing on here about this vs that and the Ridgeline is weak etc. all coming from a clown with a 1/2 ton truck? Get real a 1/2 ton is nothing more than a 70's station wagon. It lacks drivetrain and brakes to classify it as a real mans truck. With that said the Ridgeline is just another step below the 1/2 ton. 360 days out of the year it's my daily driver and on occasion I haul things from the home center that would damage the interior of an SUV. The remaining times when I need the truck to be a truck is when I pull the boats out of the lake, take the dock out etc. For me to suffer with a 1/2 ton for the remainder of the year would be pointless. Oh ya, back to my avalanche. We owned the vehicle for 9 months and had it in the shop over 12 times for build quality issues. When you are making payments of over 600 a month and you only get to drive the vehicle for two weeks out of the month you simply have to call it quits. We traded it on an 08 Ridgeline and never looked back. The Honda has never been in for service. The tires lasted 70k on the first round. We get over 20mpg on the highway consistantly. The truck does more than I could ask period. Last Spring I rode with my bother inlaw down to Florida in his 09 F150 and that truck is also amazingly beutiful. When I first got in I was jealous over how nice the interior was. His truck is absolutely loaded. After two days of travel by back hurt so bad I couldn't take it. The desin issues in the truck are many. It was an education to say the least. I ended up flying back home. I find it funny reading through all of the posts on this site. I didn't think in this day and age that there were people that haddn't recognized Honda as a builder of outstanding quality in everything they do. I can attest the Ridgeline is just another example of going outside the box and bringing something to the table that is not only useful but practical for everyday life.

I have an 08 and I LOVE it. In black with boards and a rack it looks pretty nice. Black helps clean up some of the lines. I've driven many trucks. I've had a Titan, and 2 Land Cruisers, several Silverados, a 4Runner, a Jeep, and this vehicle is the most versatile and best riding of any of them. It's not for heavy towing, or heavy off-roading, but it does so many things that many folks realistically do that it's hard to find fault. It's nice enough that I can take it to dinner, but not so nice that I can't feed PVC pipe through the back window into the cab from Home Depot and worry about messing up the interior. The ride is butter. Basically, it's built on some sort of modified Accord chasis that's also in the Pilot / MDX / Odyssey (I think). So, it handles very car-like. The center of gravity is lower than a truck so throwing it into curves doesn't make me grimace like in some of the other trucks I've had. I'm looking forward to the next version. Hopefully Honda will continue to put energy into this model. More power, better efficiency, a better dashboard, more adjustable steering...these are things I'd like. But for the most part, I can't think of anything I'd replace it with at this point. I also have a new Carrera S and a 335i and I LOVE my Ridgeline as much if not more than either of the other two and if I had to get rid of all but one, this would be the one I'd keep.

The Ridgeline is a great truck. There are so many people that say it isn't but it is. It can handle as much as the F-150 base engine. The practicality of the Ridgeline is great too. A lot of guys don't need to tow and haul big amounts so they get compact trucks. Just because it has front wheel drive and a uni-body closed box frame doesn't mean it can't do what other compact pick-ups do. Whoever doesn't think the Ridgeline is a truck shouldn't think the tacoma, frontier, or other compact pick-ups are trucks either.

I have been asking around because I want one of these. Every Ridgleline owner I have spoken to loves theirs, and say they would not part with it. If you need a full size truck then buy one, but a Ridgeline will be absolutely perfect for my needs. I like the way they look too.

Nobody can answer my question of why wouldnt you just buy a PILOT? IT MAKES MORE SENSE!!!!

----------------------

That's easy. Big fluffy dog that stinks when he is wet (which he usually is when we finish walking him). I don't want him in the vehicle. It ruined my last one. I want the people in the vehicle, and the dog in the back until we get him home.

Not to mention the stuff you can throw in the back of a Ridgeline that you would not want put in the back of a Pilot. (EG: Horse manure for the garden).

i love my Ridge i bought it new in 07 and i have put 140k miles on it so far and its still like new. Im a farmer so my trucks get used as trucks, ya i don't expect it to pull a stock trailer full of cattle but thats why i have a cummins sitting in the shop (a side note its got 30k on it and its always going back to the dealership). For day to day running around haulling my quad on the weekends its great. From the time i got it there was only the tires that needed to be replaced and as far as im concerened thats pretty good. im starting to look for a new truck and the Ridgeline is on the top of my list, i would suggest this truck to anyone looking for a stable ride that can be used for just about anything, oh and let us not forget about the front wheel drive amazing in the winter.

The Ridgeline is for a person who can't handle a real truck!!!! At least put a V-8 in the damn thing!!!

If you want a truck, buy a truck. Don't knock the Ridgeline for what it is not. Appreciate the RL for what it is: a superior daily driver that rides and handles better than any truck, with the occasional use utility of what most use a pickup truck for.

By the way, it's not an SUV. Try fitting equipment that is 42" tall upright in the back of a SUV. With the rear seat folded, 42" is possible with the RL. Try that with an SUV (a Yukon offers 35" of clearance with a higher lift height), or better yet, with your full size pickup truck. If you find one with that vertical capacity in the passenger compartment, let me know and I'll gladly eat my words.

I'm on my second Ridgeline, and don't get the EPA mileage rating. In the real world, with over 100,000 miles logged on a combination of the two vehicles, I consistently get over 22 MPG highway...and if I'm lucky, 23. Keep in mind that's with no roof rack (like most trucks) and a tonneau cover.

My 2010 gains about 1 MPG over my 2006, probably due to modest improvements with the engine and software.

City? If I use my lead foot I get about 14-15 MPG....the EPA listing.

Why dont you compare the ridgline with the ford ranger or a chevy S10 or dodge dakota? Cuz the amarican vehicles are junk. Go ridgline kick some more ass.

I own a ridgeline and it fits MY needs. Why cant the american mfg. make the dual swing tailgate (its the best) also the floor locker holds all those extra tools you need to carry out of site safley. I have had all types of pick-ups and every wants my help when they move, with the honda I tell them sorry its just a TOY.

I'm setting up to buy a ridgeline, because it's what I want/need : an SUT.

I'm willing to bet that, with the amount of trucks I see everywhere, most people are also in need of something like the ridgeline, they've just decided against it for whatever reasons (some good, some bad I imagine.)

I also appreciate the chevy Avalanche, and in fact steered my father into buying one, because it fit his needs very well.

I don't want to drive something that big, and I've never been in a domestic truck that felt as tight and nice at 50+k miles as a honda ridgeline does (including the afformentioned avalanche).

The same tragic story is repeated over and over in the american vehicle market, good sensible vehicles are killed over and over because nobody wants to look like a real person with real person needs.

well, I'm a real person with real person needs, and I don't want a superman costume with class IV codpiece.

Honda is the only company that spends more money on engineering than it does on marketing and advertising. You guys can believe what you want, the ridgeline is a great truck. And doesn't fall apart at 50k miles.

And honda didn't need a bailout to keep afloat. So even though you've already paid for the ford or chevy, they'll still take even more of your money when you get to the dealership. So next time you think you're getting a good deal (40k++++ for any comparably equipped US truck) you're actually getting ripped cause you paid for it twice. I got my RTL+nav for 27k out the door.

Eat it.

For the guy who said they were not making Ridgeline for 2011... http://automobiles.honda.com/ridgeline/.

I. Have an 06 ridgeline with 165000 miles and no problems so far I love it iv had f150 with a 5.4 and a dodge with a v8 the Honda out performed both
I tow a 14 ft dual axel trailer with a Kubota hole package is little over 5000 lbs and it tows better than the f150
Drive one you will be impressed

It's pretty simple really....Honda is built far better and hold up much longer than anything the "Big 3" can muster. I've owned every make of pickup sold in this country except for this Honda. I am considering getting one. My GMC/Chevy's were decent trucks, my Dodges were pieces of junk, my Ford has not been much better than the Dodges. My Nissan and my Toyota were great. Hmmmm...

I have owned mostly ford gmc and dodge trucks, 66 gmc, 70 ford,91 ford, all these 1/2 ton s, currently own 98 dodge dakota 4x4 ford 3/4 ton v 10. bought the 98 new replaced entire front end on my own dime , front shocks leaking oil at 3000 km door lock faluire dealership never found problem, replaced air bag mechanism in steering wheel could have gone off at any time .dodge sales guys tried to talk me into buying "extended warranty" for an extra couple of grand.. but would'nt even back exisiting warranty.. cost of truck was 39,00 "on the road paid for" one of the reasons i bought new. was even charged for a burnt out lite bulb under the hood they said it was " normal wear and tear and ther fore not covered " even though i had " bumper to bumper" warranty .truck was still not even broken in yet..replaced torque conver in 3/4 ton for 2 k , door locks don't work properly -design flaw.. the 91 ford cost me over 9 k in repairs averaging about 600 bucks a month . that was my fault the d-9 cat tore the whole truck in 1/2 pulling it out of the mud..lol i do like the dakota despite the sleaze bags who make and sell this thing it is my daily driver and has been fine after the 1o,ooo bucks i have spent on repairs a good truck with some obvious shoddy front end inherent to the model, I would buy a ridge line because i like the look, think the brand name has a better reputation. unfortunetly I spent all my money on these others, lol so am gonna ride my current beasts" untill they drop. by then I might start looking for a good camel or horse to ride, lol icidently the Pliot is suppose to get better milage because of a cvt tranny. I like the 3/4 ton ford for ride interior , power, unfortunetly my wife ran over a little import truck at the drive thru, lol not a scratch on the ford but not so lucky for the other guy.

I just sent this post to a bunch of my friends as I agree with most of what you’re saying here and the way you’ve presented it is awesome.
