Vehicles Affected: Approximately 22,000 model-year 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks.
The Problem: The Detroit News is reporting that pickups with manual front reclining seatbacks may not lock during rear-end crashes, so the headrests may not protects passengers as they should. Canadian officials discovered the problem, which affects vehicles sold in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. GM representatives said they are not aware of any injuries or crashes caused by this problem.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the seatbacks and adjust them, if needed.
What Owners Should Do: Owners can call Chevrolet at 800-630-2438 or GMC at 866-996-9463.
