Readers Sound Off on 2017 Work Truck Challenge Photo Galleries

Work Truck Group Trees A II

The photo galleries we posted that precede publication of our 2017 3/4-Ton Work Truck Challenge on Monday generated quite a few comments. In fact, it seemed as if a war of words ensued.

Which pickup truck won the comment wars? We found the most in-depth and analytical comments on the posts for the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 2017 Ford Super Duty F-250, while the fewest and least insightful comments were posted for the 2017 Nissan Titan XD.

Of course, readers' comments are not a measure of how good or bad these pickups are, but we thought you might want to see which truck came out on top in this battle. If don't regularly read the comment section on PickupTrucks.com stories, we recommend you give it a try and chime in yourself, if you feel so moved. We're not the only ones who read them; manufacturers do, too. It's an easy way to get your thoughts in front of the truckmakers.

The only other thing we can say about the comment totals (as of March 17) for the work trucks in our Challenge is that they do not reflect the final finishing order. You'll have to wait until Monday to find that out.

Come on!

If the judges are not bias to any brand the Chevy will easily win. They've had the best drive trains for a long time. I really wish they didn't partner with Ford to build that 10 speed tranny. I think Ford benefitted the most with that. I know it's not only about the drive trains to win. But it's probably the biggest factor.

I think we know why Ford built the truck 10 speed and GM built the car 10 speed. Ford is a truck company and GM is a car company. Besides, Ford has the best transmissions on the market. Who makes a better in-house heavy duty transmission? The 6R140 blows the doors off the competition and its built by Ford...not Allison nor Aisin.

It is good that this website covers work trucks as well as the very expensive luxury like trucks. There are other truck owners who want to keep up on what are the latest work trucks available. There is beauty in a vehicle that is make for function--no extra chrome or anything added that takes away from its purposes just an honest pure truck.

The truth is, manufacturers would only be wasting time reading some of the nonsense in this forum's comment section.

EVERYONE knows by now that the TUNDRA is the BEST truck in all categories.

TUNDRAS ARE GREAT!!!

Here's a novel idea, why don't we all stop bashing. What's the old saw, if you can't say something good, keep your trap shut. I'll start. We Americans are fortunate to have such a diverse selection of trucks to choose from.

Congrats in advance to Ford!

Three days is a really long time to wait for some kind of substantive content on this website.

The SEO metrics might impress executives and potential advertisers unless they actually READ the stuff that typical PUTC comments consist of.

With any luck the HD work truck comparison will be worth the wait.

You can cut the tension with a knife in here. Bring on the results already, PUTC.
