It wouldn't be a State Fair of Texas if one — or several — of the big truckmakers didn't reveal a top-of-the-line trim for luxury-loving customers. The latest entry for a Dallas debut is Ram's Laramie Longhorn Southfork Edition, which offers one of the most opulent interiors — think "Dallas" and the Ewing mansion from days gone by — available in any factory-offered pickup. Ram will offer this new trim level for half-ton, three-quarter-ton and one-ton platforms.

The Southfork Edition features full-grain leather seats and leather-wrapped grab handles. Overhead will be a unique and plush Light Greystone suede headliner and set of visors. The steering wheel will be trimmed in thick walnut, and the glove box and floormats feature special-script Longhorn badging. Galvanized interior trim pieces and Ruby Red seat, console and dash accent stitching will flow throughout the rest of the cab, complemented by walnut-colored ash wood details. All Laramie Longhorn Southfork Editions include the Uconnect 8.4-inch multimedia touchscreen featuring navigation, 4G Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

The most distinguishing exterior feature is on the tailgate, where chrome stretched lettering spells out the word Longhorn. Southfork Editions will be available in all the Laramie Longhorn colors, including the new two-tone RV Match Walnut Brown.

Southfork models will be offered with 4x4 or 4x2 drivetrains, in crew-cab or Mega-Cab configurations with short or long beds. Pricing for the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Southfork Edition 4x2 with the 5.7-liter V-8 starts at $52,615, while the Ram 2500 4x2 with the 5.7-liter Hemi starts at $57,015 (both prices include destination charges).

Even though I think it looks cheesy I still really like wood trim, like all over the place. I don't know why, I just do, but never had the pleasure of owning a vehicle with it.

Sweeet! wish we get some longhorn in my power wagon. You know the truck that took over the plow duties from the tractor.

No sale. It's only available in Texas. Fiat don't care about the other 49 states.

Since im priced out about 25K below this its pretty irrelevant to me. For those with the money to burn/play have a good time.

Man, I love this!

Already looks old.

Seriously, FCA? A tan and brown interior with a *GRAY* headliner and pillars? Who is selecting interior colors in the Ram design team?

Again, these blow away GM, nicely done Ram. If I were buying another HD truck, I would seriously consider them. Seeing Ford and Ram put out such nice stuff, makes me realize theres no need to ever take a trip to look at the twins.

Nice truck. Too bad it and the F-series fall short in performance compared to the awesomely powerful GM twins.

Ram and GM offer great V8 gas engines for their trucks.
