WardsAuto Calls Ford Raptor Tops in User Experience

Last year, WardsAuto created a user-experience award to recognize automakers that are doing the best job of providing automotive technology that's safe and intuitive for new-vehicle customers.

The annual award focuses on how drivers interact with vehicles equipped with technologies such as voice control, head-up displays, touchscreens, control switches and other driver-assistance systems. For 2017, the Wards 10 Best UX (UX stands for user experience) finalists, in alphabetical order, are:

  • 2017 Audi S5 Sportback
  • 2017 BMW 540i
  • 2017 Buick Enclave Avenir
  • 2017 Dodge Durango SRT
  • 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor
  • 2017 Honda Odyssey
  • 2017 Lincoln Continental
  • 2017 Mazda CX-5
  • 2017 Subaru Impreza
  • 2017 Volkswagen Atlas

The winner, of course, is the only pickup truck of the group: the Ford F-150 Raptor, which we also liked in our 2017 Monster Factory Off-Road Challenge.

Judges called out the upgraded Sync 3 multimedia system and high-quality voice controls in the Raptor, along with the state-of-the-art six-mode Terrain Management System (providing fully automatic or manually operated modes), 360-degree camera views and the optional Pro Trailer Backup Assist system.

WardsAuto called the new Raptor the best combination of brains and brawn on the market; 2018 models will offer cruise control that can stop the pickup and adapt throttle and braking responses when pulling a trailer.

NIcely done Ford. No surprise here.

GMS, papa, defend away...keep those laughs coming.

Only downside I see to this Raptor over the previous generation, is I don't see many people running to dealerships to buy a 60k mile used raptor. Not with the Ecoboost.

I feel majority of buyers that look at these trucks used, would rather buy a used V8 than a used TTV6.

@Tlyer, good point, I did a search within 100 miles of me, and saw 1 used(48K miles), there arent many used out there either.

Good job Ford! Nice tech and looks!

I agree with Tyler, should have updated the 6.2L. I would never buy a TTV6. Too many factors to consider, and the cost to replace is insane!

The 6.2L has a ton of potential. Shame on Ford! I would consider a Raptor with a DOHC, Direct injected, testosterone fueled machine, if it was available. lol

This must only apply to people with deep pockets. Ward's should have ONLY looked at reasonable trim levels from Ford, GM, Ram, Toyota and Nissan when giving out this award, as it means next to nothing for the middle class person looking to buy a truck.

If this was a true survey, everybody knows the Honda Ridgeline would have won!

More fake news!

For is cutting 14 billion in operating costs. They will cement their #1 position in recalls and ultimately give back much of those savings. Good luck Ford owners.

GMSGREAT, Ford needed the money to donate to "resistance" groups in Washington, to the tune of 2.35 million, even more than George Soros himself. I'd link the article but fakenews.pickuptrucks.com won't let me. Front page on Fox News.

Well done!

"To put it simply, the F-150 Raptor dominated. Sure, its trailering capabilities are a class below the other trucks in this Challenge, but this menacing pickup is the sports car of off-roading. It dominated low-speed trails and higher-speed loose dirt roads, plus it exhibited surprising civility on the road and had a long list of creature comforts."

Right on your mom.

Nah women don't do that for you. Only Ford tailpipes.

It looks like they got all the kinks out of the Sync system if they got mention in this.

Well deserved recognition based on that alone.

@ Frank that's was hilarious hahahahahahahahahah. NOW THE GARBAGE MOTORS FAN GIRLYS ARE GONNA START TALKING ABOUT THIEIR GARBAGE COLORADO.

I see your ford butt buddy Chingon decided to chime in as well

I hate Ford.

Cognitive dissonance at its finest.

@ Sierra; whoa girly; you're beginning to sound a little troubled; seek some medical help, go north & take your meds or whatever before you accumulate guns/ammunition & go berserk on anyone driving a Ford...geeez,

See that's what separates us pro-Ford fanboys from shaky GOVT motor fangirlies; we don't hate your trucks as we believe competition is good & we all benefit in the end...we just know Ford trucks are better :-))

@ Lionel

You are as delusional as all the Ford propaganda that comes onto the television. Does it suck that you can't tell the difference between your head or @$$ because you have been lied to for so long. As for shaking..you better read up bc your new aluminium body Ford's are having same issue...guess that makes u a hypocrite?

@TNTyrGMC; You just proved my point again...what's up with you GOVT motor fangirls??...but I got it; it's yr @$$ talking out of pure jealousy yr truck brand is getting their @$$ kicked for 41 yrs & counting LOL!!

Meanwhile, firstly, I don't receive US ads for any truck brand where I live, secondly, only idiots like you are influenced by ads LOL.

Lastly, my decision to support Ford is from pure direct experience from owning their products most of my life starting with w/Dad's '56 F-100, '74 Supercab, '78 Bronco etc etc.

So quit with the hating, take your meds & calm down; there are much more serious important issues to worry about these days instead of criticizing anyone that is not supporting yr beloved shaky truck brand...OK?!...dumb @$$!!!

Disappointed about the V6
Disappointed about support for the “resistance”
Resistance is at the polling booth, not employing degenerate people to do protests and do non-sense online.
I would have never bought a 2017 F250 if I knew what I was supporting.

@ Lionel

All u ever say is taking your meds?? Really! You are the one getting butt hurt. But together champ with your Ford Bronco...yeee.haa

As for more important issues in the world...i agree but u need to chill out!! Your the one flipping out....i was just pointing out am issue that Ford is having vibration issues too....dang man!!! Mayne u skipped your meds???

BD. Read the whole article not just the big words. Ford Motor Company hasn’t been associated with that foundation for decades.

And because lawyers tell you that you should believe it? Come here, I have an aluminum bridge to sell you!
