Ford Powers Up the 2018 Super Duty

18FordSuperDuty-Limited_12_HR[7] II

The bar has been raised again: 2018 Ford Super Dutys will have the highest SAE International-rated horsepower and torque ratings of any of heavy-duty pickup truck sold in the U.S. A redesigned cylinder head and some software tweaking along with a touch more turbo boost (to take advantage of the increased cylinder head capacity) means the turbo-diesel 6.7-liter V-8 Power Stroke available on all F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Dutys will have more power at 450 horsepower and more torque at 935 pounds-feet.

"Super Duty customers expect the best and for 2018 we're giving our customers even more power and torque from our Power Stroke diesel — delivering the most horsepower and torque available among any heavy-duty pickup," Ford truck marketing manager Todd Eckert said in a statement.

In addition to the Power Stroke upgrade, Ford will also offer a new 2018 F-450 4x2 dually model that will give the truck 34,000 pounds of gooseneck towing capacity when properly equipped. In the past, personal-use F-450 duallys were only available as a 4x4. This new configuration will be available on XL, XLT, Lariat and Platinum trim levels, with the XL starting at $54,125 including destination.

@johnny dipcrap,

Why don't worry about what GM is doing, you're not buying a FORD anyways,

If you're not in the Market for a Ford, why is this a major concern of yours'

Had it been GM, you'd praise their flaws.

Wanker!

@ Frank

Man u need some serious help!!

The Irony here.

It does not suck as much as it does for you, you can't sleep well at night until GM tucks you in with their finger in your bunghole.

@ J Doe

This is why Ford remain low on the reliability studies.

What studies are you referring to?
Care to site a source or just spouting the usual propaganda?

@ Frank

You comments speak volumes on how little you know about things and how small minded you really are in your cold and cruel little world. It quite shameful.

See help old man.

@TNTyrGMC; reread yr posts old man, you're the wanker with more mean spirited personal attacks; stick to the subject & for petes sake it's only a f@#%KING truck. You're now in the same rim of usual suspects/diehard GOVT motor fangirls (johnny dum dum aka GMSUCKS)...get a life girls, it can be short so enjoy whatever shaky ride you choose...duma$$e$

So Frank is up to his non educated posts again. I wish he would get a job to occupy his time.

The Duramax has proven itself again and again, Cummins blows Powerstroke away for reliability.

Ford is famous for upping their numbers for maketing ,yet always behind the Duramax in real world.

I'm a tool? For what, pointing out the obvious? The new superduty is as hysterically hideous as its price tag, and only a triggered cuck like you takes it personally when someone points out that Ford lies about their capabilities and the shills that run this site are more than happy to cover for their favorite manufacturer.

@ Lionel

Reread my post to Frank. I should have included you as well!! Unreal. If u and Frank would reread every post u make. They sound so similar. No facts, demeaning and belittling is all u 2 know. U 2 are perfect for each other!

@Sean G.

I would like to see the actual facts on this for reliability or are you just a GM guy because honestly I would buy a chevy over ford only because of cosmetic looks how ever GM still isn't putting out big numbers like Ram or Ford in the pulling world for a 3500

GM has been dominating in the towing categories for years. It is #1 when it comes to getting the power to the ground with the Duramax/Allison combo in the 3500.

I wonder if Ford is finally going to need up that shakey shakey suspension yet. Nothing but death wobble year after year on brand new Superduty trucks.

Is Ford ever going to do something about all the CP4 failures or are they going to keep blaming the customer for their junk fuel system?

Oh boy!! I wonder what the Fanboys are going to say now that there junk trucks are starting to shake?? That's the only ammunition Lionel ever says about GM. He better start biting his tongue now!

I won't go into bashing them about this bc I have gone through this with GM. But I have heard some of the F150's have the same problem.

@Sean G

GM has been dominating in the towing categories for years....

Uh you might want to look again GM cant even pull 30+ tons like Ford or Dodge.....There max towing is garbage compared to Dodge or Ford so what are they dominating at?????GMs max towing is 23,300 pounds so once again what are they dominating at when it comes to towing???
