2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Up Close: Photo Gallery

Ccl_6939jpg_27166261048_o

We got an early look at the new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 off-road pickup truck ahead of its debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show. We think the AT4 looks pretty good. It's packed with impressive four-wheel-drive technology and it offers a mild suspension lift, aggressive tires and a black-out exterior look.

We thought you might want to see as many of the details on this new off-roader as possible, so we've put together a photo gallery of the truck for your perusal from as many angles as we could find. After the success of GMC's Denali trim level, which has essentially become a sub-brand, we expect to see the AT4 (short for All-Terrain four-wheel drive) nameplate to expand across the entire GMC lineup, including all its pickups. Stay tuned.

Great looking truck, wish I could afford one. I know it won't come cheap.

5700rpm redline is disappointing.

I'm not sure what "sub-brand" means. Is Escalade a sub of Cadillac?
Clever innovation's all over this model that could become industry standards.

Good Lord, man, it's a pickup---not a corvette!

You gotta agree! Look how wide that bed is between the wheels!

I like the interior. Its has a lot of soft touch material and isn't over flashy. Could it be better absolutely, but i like simplicity!

An interior my grandpa would love! The exterior is growing on me even though its a GMC.

hopefully someone is working on a big update to that dash.

What a pathetic spare tire for an off-road truck!

spare tires exist to keep your rims from getting ruined. They don't have to look "cool" doing it to succeed at their primary mission

MKL

Really spare tire.....all manufacturers throw a cheap tire for spare. I can guarantee you won't be complaining if you are stranded and have to put it on to save you a tow!! You could always put your own brand tire down there after you purchase a vehicle

Lower rear shock mounts epic failure...

Break-over angle epic failure...

Goodyear tires epic failure...

Not much of an off-roader!

@ TNTGMC,

All of my spares are BFG KO2's with same size tires on REAL rims and not the fake donut.

You can get a flat anywhere, you better have an actual rim and tire to replace with and not some cheap model or fake rim.

That is one useless tailgate step when towing. Looks very similar to another brand.

Bilstein shocks are much better.

So you purchased the spare's you wanted.

Great looking truck!!! The low hanging shocks kills it for me.

@ Oxi

You purchased that spare. All I was saying is that it comes with a spare tire....stop complaining!!!! If you didn't have a spare you would need a tow. COMMON SENSE!

Great looking version....like it best of the GM trucks so far I think.

This is a nice off road package.....not totally redesigned like Raptor .....more like increased capability like Rebel . Its definitely above FX4 Ford or Z71 .

Wonder what cost will be.....

If you have a trailer hooked up, you don't use the tail gate step, use the trailer hitch, nothing wrong with that spare, who would mount a fancy alloy with a beefy tire under the truck, and the shocks don't hang any lower than the diff,
good job GM

Frank- agreed, also that low hanging shock is really bad placement. You can tell they are not experienced in this segment.

How are the cup holders in these expensive trucks. I've got a 2004 GMC 1500 SLT crew cab and the cup holders are worthless you would figure a vehicle loaded with all the bells and whistles and no time spent in designing cup holders that actually hold cups go figure...

The tailgate step is useless when towing but GM integrated the bumper steps to use while towing....unlike some other manufacturer!!!!

TNT- good point on the step but man you GM guys get totally confusing. One time you make comments about the new Ram having so much tech, and things to go wrong because you like older technology and they way they did it for years, then you when GM has a new innovative product, like those steps (which I love), you downplay other manufacturers for doing things the way they are always done. Not trying to be harsh here, but man come on.

-CT

@ CT

I never bashed Ram for having to much tech.....I said I would HATE to replace that huge 12 inch screen when it goes out, plus it looks like everything is controlled through that screen....get facts straight!!

Last time I checked that bumper step isnt mechanical and will never cost me another penny to fix unlike all this tech in ALL THESE TRUCKS...no matter what brand!!!

TNT, facts are you implied it. You tried make it negative by saying hate to fix it too much to go wrong something like that. For most buyers now a days-the GMC is a disappointment as well as its sister the Silverado, people want tech now, so unless your papas age, you may want the basics. I already stated I drove the Chevy, and although loved the truck, it fell short compared to the others in many areas. Not that it was a huge shortfall but enough for me to move on.

@CT,

She's something else, I tell ya!

PUTC ?

WHERE are the F-150 stories at ?
I haven't seen an F-150 story here for a long time
The 2018 F-150 is the truck of the year, the best selling, the best gas mileage , towing and payload
I think it deserves more stories and there's new information about the new diesel for the F-150 but no mention of that!

Who wouldn't want to fix that 12 inch when it goes out??? I've out a nine inch from alpine in and it was over $3500 my cost!!!! I'll bet anything that 12/inch is $5k!!! You want to foot that bill out of warranty!?? That's what I'm saying!! Stop trying to turn it around. Go get a dodge and in five or six years. Hopefully it doesn't go out on u.
.
When it does. I'd hate to replace it, is all I was SAYING!!!

As for Frank....go play in the street.....everyone has told u that. Old man.

Here is Alpine new head unit....10 inch...its $4k

Of your associated with alpine its $1300! Your telling me dodge won't charge more than that!!!

The 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro was a complete failure. Same low-slung transfer case, same flimsy (and rusty) 2nd gen frame, GOODYEAR Wrangler AT's (LOL), plus fancy shows bolted on a suspension that could never take advantage of them without busting ball joint or busting a control arm. Even the engine doesn't have enough torque to do well offroad.

Yeah they should do a story about all the 2015+ F-150's with cheap and unreliable 4x4 systems. I know half a dozen guys with new F-150's that didn't have 4 wheel drive all winter because the front hubs kept grinding the plastic gear up. Some of them had 3 or 4 sets up hubs put in and they wouldn't last more than a week. What's up with that? I thought Ford was supposed to "build them better/tougher/heavier duty"? Doesn't sound like it.

TNT, you just keep going. This must really bother you. You seem to always turn things around. I never buy any vehicle and say. man I do not want to replace that engine if it goes out, or the dash board or screen ect; I just go buy what I want know knowing that may happen, oh well sucks, but at the same time geez, how do you guys live with those thoughts? Is everything in life about what could happen? You must be a nervous wreck day in and day out.

good point

Is that truck riding on 14's? Tires and wheels look tiny on it!

@ CT

Far from a nervous wreck. But u can say whatever u wish.. Just stating a point

I'll enjoy my 6.2l and some of those calloway performance upgrades now that they have been released...

Good luck with your truck search

As for frank...your a dead beat...I could care less what u state...your clueless

LOL...this thing has nothing on the new 2019 RAM. Look for RAM to take 2nd place away from GM soon. After that, it will have its sights set on Ford to become NUMBER ONE!!

@Hemi

Hate to break it to you, but GM was number one in pickup truck sales for the last four years, at least. Not even close.

Most likely the truest statement made here in quite some time. Frank's brain is pickled from the Blue Oval Kool Aid.

Is that truck riding on 14's? Tires and wheels look tiny on it!

Real trucks have more rubber than wheel. Meanwhile Ford is putting 20 inch rims with rubber bands for tires on 2018 F-150's with the "off-road" FX4 package. As far as tires are concerned, I'd pull the Goodyears off as soon as I bought the truck and have real tires put on. Brand new takeoffs are an easy sale.

Bilstein shocks are much better.
Posted by: Frank | Mar 28, 2018 10:06:45 AM

Yet Ford uses the same Rancho shocks on all their FX4 trucks.

U G L Y

I can't believe they don't "detail" these vehicles before putting them on display at shows.

The image that shows the shocks also reveals some rust on the exhaust. Huh????

The underside of my 9 year old Chevy looks better than that.
