GMC Elevates 2019 Sierra 1500 With New Double-Cab Trim Level

2019-GMC-Sierra-Elevation

GMC has announced the latest trim level for the upcoming all-new 2019 Sierra 1500 half-ton pickup truck: the Elevation. The Elevation joins the trims we already know about: the SLT, AT4 and Denali. It is based on the double-cab model instead of the crew cab, making this the first time we've seen the appearance of the double cab for the 2019. GMC says the new body has 3 inches more backseat legroom than the old double cab for improved passenger comfort. The Elevation appears to be a mid-level blackout package, adjusting trim pieces to include body-colored door handles, bumpers and grille surround, while adding black tow hooks, black side window trim, black-painted 20-inch aluminum wheels and a black grille insert.

The truck will be available in two- or four-wheel drive, including the Traction Select System that allows a driver to choose from preset modes that adapt to environmental conditions with a twist of a dial. So, Tour mode is designed for on-road cruising and Terrain for off-roading. The X31 Off-Road Package is optional, adding off-road suspension tuning with Rancho shock absorbers, a locking rear differential, hill descent control, skid plates, a dual exhaust, a two-speed transfer case with low range, all-terrain tires and a heavy-duty air filter. In other words, most of the stuff that the AT4 trim level gets you, but on the double cab instead of the crew cab.

The standard engine on the new Sierra Elevation will be the recently unveiled turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder making 310 horsepower and 348 pounds-feet of torque. It will be paired with an eight-speed transmission. Optional engines include the improved 5.3-liter V-8, also paired with the eight-speed, or a new turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine and 10-speed automatic that will be available in early 2019.

On the inside, not much changes. The 8-inch GMC Infotainment System is standard, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a six-speaker audio system. You can pony up for an optional premium system with a higher resolution screen with voice recognition and app support, or go all the way for a seven-speaker Bose premium audio system. There will be standard ports in the console for USB types A and C for charging your electronics.

The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation is slated to go on sale this fall.

Chevy Silverado sales are already talking. Now this!

Chevy Silverado sales are already tanking. Now this!

Shaking my head........

Regarding the GMC, its nice to see what the ext cab version will look like. Too bad there is not more photo angles to get a better overall view.

"With an alll new 4cylinder-"
"No thanks."

The GMC looks pretty good, the Chevy not so much. Great idea on the Turbos GM, you Rembrandt.

The front end is awful looking on these trucks! What is GM design thinking? Reminds me of that "ovoid" design crap Ford tried on Taurus several years back or "organic" design. A truck should look like a truck not a slug!

wow took a moment thought it was a Tundra

I think the size will be very close to a Tundra's

no 4 cylinder for me! Wish they had a few more photos to observe.

It will be interesting to see how many takers there will be for both the 4cyl and small diesel. Especially when you consider the relatively unsuccessful Ram and then Nissan small diesel offerings.

i agree i would like to see a few more photo's, the GMC's are starting to look sharp and growing on me

Ford f@gs go circle jerk yourselfs, yall just jealous your fords look like 2016 Chevys. #fords outdated with no new ideas.

@GM Guy

i gotta agree!

This new look for the front end, both the Chevy and GMC, is a step back.

I have faith Ford will not let us down and come out with a much better design look than GM.

I think the 2019 GM models look great, although the Chevy looks the best. The four cylinder will sell great. 310 horsepower and 348 pounds-feet of torque is very strong.

CHEVYOTA TUNDERADO is dead and the GARBAGE MOTORS COMPANY AKA (GMC) TOO. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA enjoy your weed eater truck!!!!

FORD IS THE WAY TO GO LIKE IT OR NOT!! I BET A LOT OF GARBAGE MOTORS FAN GIRLYS ARE SWITCHING TO FORD.

Not a big fan of Ford trucks. GM or Ram is the way to go.

BUT THE FORDS ARE SO DAM UGLY, WHY DONT YOU WANT ONE.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

So you agree that this is a great looking truck. Much better looking than the Ford.

When GM came out with the 2014 trucks, everyone complain that it looked like a brick on wheels (which is completely garbage, it looked like a squarebody truck, the ultimate form any truck can have). Now they complain that GM went too far in styling.

This is a good looking truck, and doesn't look like a Tundra to me. Say what you will, but I think the new GM styles and drive trains will grow on a good number of people, and they will sell a lot of these trucks.

Spin it anyway you want. IT IS STILL A BRICK! FLUID DYNAMICS AT ITS WORST. GEE LETS DESIGN AN AIRPLANE LIKE THIS AND SEE WHAT KIND OF COEFFICIENT OF DRAG (CD) WE GET. I CAN HEAR MARKETING TALKING "GOTTA KEEP IT SQUARE AND MANLY SO LEAVE THE HUGE BRICK ASPECT RATIO". THIS IS THE 21ST CENTURY AND SQUARE BRICK IS THE BEST THEY HAVE.

Wish they had a few more photos to observe.

@AP

Is your shift key broken? Do you go around yelling all the time? Just Curious. By the way, your viewpoint on this is obnoxious.

Aero considerations for a truck that will spend much of its life in a parking space with engine off...(well, you get my point). Most trucks spend very little time moving at sufficient speed to affect aero.

Take a nap. It works for me.

AP is obviously a fan of the absolutely ugliest pickup truck ever designed. The 1997 F-150 jellybean.

My background is diverse! and it all started with my 86 Toyota pickup! that I later raced! down in Baja!:

Imagine that... GM having a "blackout" package.

3" is a considerable boost in leg room.

Is it just me or is GM copying the Nissan Titan?

My lover Chingon and I LOVE FORD TRUCKS because they DON'T SUCK LIKE GM AND RAM TRUCKS. We also like them because they have higher payloads and CAN HAUL HUGE LOADS OF VASELINE AND KY JELLY which is really a BIG PLUS FOR US. Ford Trucks ARE THE BEST unlike GM GARBAGE MOTORS TRUCK COMPANY.

We appreciate your honesty in this matter, Frank.

its no where near a Titan. its has a bigger grill then the modelnits replacing And it incorporates the headlights that the popular terrain has. I will pass final judgement until I see it in person.

Did see a new Ram this weekend And I just cant get over how it looks Luke a Durango coming down the road. It looks good but the Durango has been out forever, so its more evolutionary instead of what GM is doing which is more revolutionary. Kinda stepping outside the box.

GM HAS THE UGLIEST TRUCK LINE UP FOR 2019 !!

GM TRUCKS WILL FALL TO NOTHING,UNLESS THEY SLASH PRICES TO $30,000 FOR A LOADED DENALI !!!!!

UGLIEST TRUCKS TO HIT THE MARKET IN DECADES !!!!!

This Sierra should do well for those who are looking for this type of package, just like that of the current Altitude Edition, especially being down here in the south as to where you will see plenty of them rolling around.
