Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Plus Concept Goes for $36,000 at Barrett-Jackson

Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Plus Concept

The Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Plus Concept we previewed last week fetched $36,000 (plus a 10 percent buyer's premium) at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Ariz.

It features a 320-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 (which just became available for the 2009 Colorado) instead of a 242-hp, 3.7-liter five-cylinder engine. It also has a wildly chiseled front end, which was rumored to hint at a mid-cycle exterior refresh, and Hummer H3 suspension components.

I always thought that this was the coolest looking truck ever. If they made this I would buy it tomorrow. I think other people would too. I don't want some car looking pickup just because that is what the rest of the world (Global Vehicle) drives. I want a bulged out, mucle looking man's ride like this. I don't know why the big three won't put more luxury, better gas mileage and a tad more spacious interior in the midsize truck. I don't want a huge gas guzzling pickup. We invented the pickup right here in the USA and we should be allowed to have something like this and not be forced to buy up into a bigger truck. Everyone that I show this to thinks it's awesome. Why won't GM wake up too. If they did this truck justice it would sell a ton! Who agrees or not? I would love to here what everyone thinks.
