Notable numbers for the Government Motors lovers out there:
The Ford F-series beat the Chevy Silverado and GM Sierra combined.
Thank you.
It's hard not to take a big hit when you don't ever sell anything. Once again Dodge is in distant 3rd place and Ford and GM each sell more than double that of Dodge.
Ed check your math! F Series for June was off the least. Better yet, check out the Ranger numbers! Ram sales declined for the second month in a row. April Ram sales were 17,903. How about those Tundra numbers- less than Ranger sales-ouch!
Ed,
Check again. In June truck sales, Dodge took a slightly bigger hit. Ford is down 8.5% from this June to last June. Dodge is down 8.9%. Chevy down 28%. GM down 27%. Tundra down 49%.
From another site.
Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brand cars slipped 17% to 54,040, while truck sales fell 7.7% to 94,113.
GM, Chrysler again hit hard
By brand, June sales of Chevrolet declined 33.3% to 106,712 vehicles, and Cadillac dropped 40.9% to 8,473 vehicles. Buick fell only 10.7% while GMC declined 36%.

Elsewhere, Chrysler -- formed on June 10 through an alliance with Italy's Fiat -- reported that car sales were down 48% to 15,504 while truck sales fell 40% to 52,793.
@danny
Really you need to open your eyes.
The F-150 saw a sales decline of 34.6%
While the Dodge Ram saw a sales decline of 27.0%
Last Month
The F-150 saw a sales decline of 39.1%
While the Dodge Ram saw a sales decline of 29.0%
@Mark
I was talking about yearly sales not monthly sales.
@JJ
"It's hard not to take a big hit when you don't ever sell anything. Once again Dodge is in distant 3rd place and Ford and GM each sell more than double that of Dodge."
The Chevrolet Silverado sold 24,776 copies
while the Dodge Ram sold 14,478 copies
The Chevrolet Silverado does not sell more than double that of Dodge.
14,478 x 2= 28,956
The Silverado sold 24,776
Ed,
I like how you say you are talking only about yearly data but the continue to talk about monthly data in your followup.
GM is Chevy/GM. GM and Ford each sell more than double that of Dodge.
Silverado sales ytd 149,949, Sierra sales ytd 50,067, total 200,016. Ford F series ytd sales 179,632. Do the math!
Shouldn't the Ranger be placed ahead of the Tundra? WTF? Mike!
@Jp: Easy, there. Rank order is determined by year-to-date sales, not month-over-month changes.
I see. Sorry. I'm wrong.
I've got a Ranger, and love it. My third. However, I cannot understand why the Nissans sell so poorly. The Frontier is decades more advanced than the Ranger, has good styling now, has a shortened rear crew, and offers a long bed. Plus it comes with wads more HP. And it is barely more expensive than a comparably equipped Ranger, which is still stuck on SuperCab. Really a shame.
I've done the math.
June sales: Ford 35,919. GM 33,780. Dodge 14,478.
Ford and GM are each more than double that of Dodge.
just this month ford sold more truck,but we no gm sold more truck from jan to jun,but what is funny ,ford whit the new f150,dont sell tomany truck,and the worst gm is banckup and ford still dont pass gm over all sell..wow..
Who gains more market share every month. Dodge PERIOD.
You guys also need to remember that Dodge has sold NO fleet vehicles while under Bankrupcy. Add in a 1000 or 2 when that starts back up again and see who is selling better.
Dodges RETAIL sales percentage wise have been better then GM or Ford the last couple of months, I would like to see what the numbers if they would have has fleet sales.
What ere You guys arguing so about that Dodge Ram? Is the 3rd place a defeat or the 3rd best in this (statistics-)compilation? Maybe last on the podium, but not least overall...
@tmnt
And don't forget that the new Heavy-Duty trucks are coming out 2010.
Built Ford tough, not governemnt controlled. that's right i'm an American!
-Christ Bless
I'd still buy the Toyota over any of the others, as they are better built, not to mention they are worth more than double the rest........after 10 years.
i'm re3aly glad to see that american trucks are still selling way better than any jap crap.
oh an have they been sellin tacos an tundras for 10 yrs anyway? i have never ever seen a 10yr tundra, remember the t100? and what was the taco called b4
@sandman
yeah, american trucks are built on racism! that's what we stand for! good thing people like you exist
im never buying a ford, i buy dodge and of coure sale are gunna be down, they are not building the 2009 rams, they are starting the 2010 trying to slim down inventory, i just purchased 2 new dodge in june, for my wife and mom, and the reason i said id negver buy a ford is my mom had a ford bought new in 2007 spent 5 weeks in shop for a transmission, the it went back 5 other times and got computer, axle bearing front and rear, steering wheel and air bag, battery, 4 wheel alignment and 4 new tires, rear axle, and new fuel pump, it only had 12206 miles when we traded it in. and i want a new truck for my self but i want the 2010 body stlye and so does everyone i talk to.

And once again the Dodge Ram takes the least hit.
