2012 NAIAS: Up Close With an Old Favorite

Realtree lead

No pickup truck debuts this year (not much even for SUVs) but a lot of car news at the 2012 NAIAS. But we did see an old friend stuffed in the corner of the Chevy booth. We first saw the Chevy Silverado HD RealTree Outfitters at the 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas, but it's nice to see that it's here, especially among so many ordinary-looking stock trucks in the Chevy floor display. Shiney and clean is good but we miss some of the big trucks from last year.

The Realtree Outfitters truck is a moderately lifted HD platform running a Duramax turbo-diesel and could be a nice companion to last year's GMC All-Terrain concept. Unfortunately, the All-Terrain GMC wasn't here this morning. Big tires, fully carpeted bed, plenty of storage for hunting gear, and a ton of interior camo accents are the truck's key highlights. All we can think is we need to drive this truck.

Looks like Lou, the fraudulent liar is making more stuff up ;)

@Michigan Bob, why dont you go bobbing for apples or pole since you like to run your mouth so much. You are a disgrace to all the other chevy owners out there and to the state of Michigan. All your talk is a big lie.

@Bob -
my post - "IIRC - you own a 1993 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3.
You don't even own a diesel truck. Your company vehicle is a car - an Impala.
Keep bragging. "

Your reply -

I don't want to burst your little bubble, But my truck actually has the 5.7 and NOT the 5.3 like you say. In case you're wondering, Chevy didn't introduce the 5.3 up until the year 2000.
And you consider yourself a "Pickup expert"... LMFAO!

Back on topic. I really like this truck with the exception of the carpet in the box. If they were really going for a tough hunting truck theme, they should of used a spray in liner.

I know this is hard for people to understand but Bob is actually a Toyota man and founder of Tacoma World, a Forum for Toyota Tacoma owners and enthusiasts.

oxi is a member at Tacoma World but went under cover after some serious #$%* went down with him in the Tacoma community.

Its sad how comments are taken too seriously on this website. Get a Life.

Pickup trucks are serious business.

Ram thinks that you should stop driving their trucks and start driving smart cars or using bicycles

@dear don: were does Ram suggest that?

The Chevy 5.3 came out in 1999, not 2000. I own one. Here is a picture of it:

...And YOU call yourself a Chevy fan.

Hey Lou, You S..T for brains, the Chevy Impala is a FULL SIZE CAR AND IT IS THE BEST SELLING FULL SIZE CAR IN AMERICA. All the cars listed ahead are in different classes you S..T for brains. I did say best selling FULL SIZE CAR.

And what the hell do you do that you get to play on the internet all f-ing day?

Jason, I never posted I own a that. How many times do I have to tell you idiots that several people have posted using my name. And actually the 5.3 liter debuted in 1999 you moron.

Honda Accord is a full-size and outsells the Impala.

Wow. Just...wow.

Your lack of comprehension is unfathomable. Did you even read my post before responding to it?

I give up.

The Ford Taurus is a full size car, and I do not see it anywhere on that top seller list. Looks like the Impala outsells the ugly Taurus, which is a much newer design. Ford LOSES AGAIN!
I want to add that the Fusion, Camry, Accord, and Malibu are all mid-size cars and should not be lumped into the same class as the Impala.

@Bobby McMichigan - for once I agree. The Impala is in a class by itself. What is it like to drive an Impala taxi for a living?

I am sorry.

Im a Ford guy and I'll hand in my truck for one of those!

That's very big of you. You're forgiven. Just don't let it happen again.

What the hell do I do?

It doesn't involve driving a lowly Impala for an f-ing living ;)

Aww, You upset?

@Bob - no.
Being upset would mean I care about what you say.
I just care about the truth.
Semper fi must have something to do with truthfulness?

Apparently you do care. why else would you respond to my comments with such rage and anger?

please note the ;) at the end of my Impala comment. That denotes humor.
Experts say close to 99% of communication is non-vebal. On a blog such as this we are working with a medium that conveys only a small portion of that spectrum.
You must be looking for anger and hostility in people's responses, or have some problem with anger and hostility in your own soul to assume anger and hostility is the intent or state of mind of everyone else on this blog.

Lou is an angry man.

He's not just angry, But he's also bitter and alone.

Frank is bitter and alone. Driving a spark plug spitting truck will do that to you.

Nice try buddy! My life is beautiful, sorry you don't have the same sentiment. Not having a life does that to you.

Nice try though! LMAO!

Making love to a Blow-up Doll isnt considered a life..

Think of something less disgusting.

You are too stupid to even read what I post. Oh wait, this is what TROLLS are suppose to do.

"BITCH"?..... Question: Isn't that what everyone in town calls your momma?

You hit the nail on the head Bob. I wonder what the doll's name is?

Must be a name even stupider than his.

@Bob, @Dave
One rule of effective communication is to speak at the level of the receiver. Translation - speak at their level of intelect. Throwing in some vulgar common language is such an attempt.
Unfortunately, I do not think that I could ever force myself to be able to function in a conversation at the level of bacterium.
That explains why I can make logical posts that counter all the "Chevy are gifts from pharaoh (Let it be written. Let it be done) arguments , but never get through to the intended receiver.
BTW I was very calm, relaxed and happy typing this post.

I like your article very much and I learn more from it.Thanks ^^.
So I want to share something good with you.
