Video Finds You Have To Watch

Sometimes video gold just falls in our laps, while other times it is thrust upon us. Here are two very different kinds of truck videos, but both are worth watching. The first we knew was coming; the latter was sent to us by a friend.

This episode of the rough-cut-style of Roadkill is just fun to watch--choppy, raunchy, and a little clumsy. The second is a little more difficult but does give you an idea of how much meaning there can be in something as relatively mundane as an old pickup trucks. Enjoy.

Roadkill Episode 3

Channel 9 News, Denver

This second video won't allow us to place the video inside this story so we'll just post two sets of links (both will get you there) and you can go to it on your own. The piece was put together by Channel 9 News in Denver, Colorado, and focuses on a truck and the soldier who bought it to restore with his wife and girls. Click here to view.

haha junk ford crapo didn't even want to run

@Johnny doe:

But...the Crapo won the competition!

@ Jason H.

It should of it was the lightest rig there. It would of been a different out come if there was a blaze, but it was just a fun test, and for as big as the burb was it held its own pretty well.

Stop TROLLING JOHNNY TROLL! How is your make believe truck with 100,000 miles in one year? What a laughing stock!

I never put 100,000 miles on my truck in a year. Its about 2 years to get hit 100,000 miles YOU GOOF!! LOL She fine by the way.

The second video was very touching. One of my top 3 favorite Chevrolet trucks of all time. I remember dad having a Task Force like that. I'd have to say that's my favorite Chevrolet truck ever. Followed closely by the 67-72 and then followed by the 88-98's. Oh how I love what Chevrolet used to be.. My heart goes out to that good American soldiers family.

@RonAndersen, Amen. I agree with you on the trucks, I agree with you on the fallen American soldier. May God bless his family.

The first story reminds me of the kind of stuff they do on Top Gear UK all of the time. I liked the Suburban, but I'm not surprised the Broncho won. The Toyota was cool but it didn't stand a chance in the kind of test they ran.

The 2nd story was great. Nice to see a community get together to honour a fallen hero. A fitting tribute to a brave soul.

They used to sell Bronco's till the early 1980's in Australia. The video clip is very much like a Top Gear Challenge

The video was nice but here is a another video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-HlsCt4oJM&feature=related.

@johny doe CHEVY TRUCKS SUCK FOR IS KING.

@ Lou,

Don't you mean it reminds you of Top Gear America?

The UK version actually talks about cars. You know current production and high performance cars. Unlike the terrible American version, where all of the time is spent destroying old clunkers.

@Maxx - no, not really. I agree that Top Gear USA was a dud. A few funny parts. Top Gear UK does all sorts of "Challenges" like Roadkill but usually with cars. They did do a Challenge in South America with a Toyota LandCruiser, a Suzuki Samurai , and a Land Rover. That was a cool episode. I think it was a 3 part one. Been a while. They also did one in Viet Nam on motorcycles. That was one of my favorites (being a rider myself). Years ago they did a test on the Ford Lightning. They weren't very kind to it in their review.

Been a long time since I've driven a carb'd vehicle...but...are they dumb for Hot Rod guys or am I? Wouldn't, uhm...getting in and giving it a few pumps of the go juice help start it instead of spraying ether down its throat? That's what you do with a carb...pump it 2-3 times, turn key...wow! Starts! At least that's how mine always worked (so long as the choke was working too that is).

congrats johnny doe you are officially more annoying than Bob now ! (probably only because he had disappeared for awhile lol) ...i would be blown away if you said some constructive for a change. I get it your a Chevy guy...

as to the video, am i just getting old? but im looking at these guys and thinking where your helmets and roll bars. No doors? if it rolls their arms could get crushed if they are outside the door when it goes over. Their insurance company must be having a heart attack, but when i was a young punk i did crazy shyt like this too.
