One Driver, One Truck: 2014 F-150 Tremor and Brad Keselowski Videos

Video lead II

Take a closer look at the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor sport truck package courtesy of our video walk around of the truck. This is a clever use of existing parts, but Ford engineers faced some challenges in making this new option package a reality.

Also, we got the chance to spend a little time with 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski after he took us on a few hot laps in the new truck while we were at the Michigan International Speedway. Keselowski is a real truck guy, and he shared an interesting story about how he hooked up with this Ford pickup.

Enjoy them both.

I like this truck. The only think killing Ford right now is the poorly executed MyTouch system, I don’t understand why it won’t touch you back. I’ve asked it to touch me several times via voice activation but nothing happens. That will teach me a lesson for assuming that Microsoft can help me get it on. Microsoft is #1 because of shrewd business sense and bundling of packages, but certainly not for playing with my package.

I think that Ford will go the route of diesels, the "Bobcat" engine and a Justin Bieber version of the Tremor to try and capture a younger demographic. Who knows maybe they are on to something.

On the other hand, if hybrids were not subsidized, the technology would end up withering away like my libido, at least in the short term, until they fix MyTouch system, girly magazines is where the future lies not batteries (unless you are a girl of course).

Great videos.

Nice, I'd like to see an extended cab model.

You can already buy/see an extended cab and that's not the point.

Truck is available as an extended cab or supercrew...its call an FX2 or FX4. Same truck.

I think it needs more work done in the handling package & perhaps much wider rubber! Way too much tire squeal in that video for me!

If its just an FX2 regular cab, way not just call it an FX2. Theirs nothing extra here.

Because it is the first EcoBoost RC short bed. It also has 4.10 electronic locker. And it is the only RC with a flow through console.

FX2 is not a short wheel base RC with 4.10

Why not call it a FX2? They do call it an FX2 on the badges. The Tremor Package is the RC short bed and 4.10 gears with flow through console.

The people that are asking for 4 doors or a V* - we have tried to explain to them that it is already available. And the WHOLE POINT of this is for a RC short wheel base EcoBoost!

Len D,

Exactly. The people who are complaining about the conecpt (ie, asking for a V8 or Crew Cab) don't know what they are even complaining about.

These complainers are "low information shoppers" or trolls.

So what if its the first RCSB FX2, the only difference here is the 4.10 gears which you can't get on the super cab and super crew. Center Shifter is available on the other cabs and should be an option on the regular cabs anyway.

There are many low information voters/shoppers on Can you name them?

"So what if its the first RCSB FX2"

It's the first RCSB Ecoboost.

Anytime someone says "so what" I know the conversation is over.

You like FX2 instead of Tremor? Peel the decal off. It still says FX2/FX4 on the badge.

"the only difference here is the 4.10 gears which you can't get on the super cab and super crew."

The only difference is RC short wheel base and EcoBoost - first time available.

You can get 4.10 gears in the FX4 but it comes with the Max Tow Package with the Large Tow Mirrors.

"Center Shifter is available on the other cabs and should be an option on the regular cabs anyway."

We'll its not. Because it wouldn't sell unless it's in a package like this. Regular Cabs are 99% work trucks.

You are either the low information voters/shoppers or a low information troll.

Lol. Don says the only difference is RC, short wheel base, EcoBoost, 4.10 e locker, and flow through console. ONLY? That's quite a few major differences for one package.

The available Z71 Off-Road Package features suspension upgrades designed for rugged off-road terrain, including Rancho® monotube shocks, an underbody transfer case shield (4WD models), automatic locking rear differential, all-terrain tires and Hill Descent Control. Inside and out, the Z71 has rugged looks, with a unique Z71 gauge cluster, lower bumper and grille and available custom 18-inch bright machined-aluminum wheels. Custom Z71 graphics on the instrument cluster and pickup box, as well as brushed-aluminum sill plates and special interior accents make this truck not only tough but stylish.

Part chrome, all truck.

Introducing the all-new 2014 Chevy Silverado High Country. It’s the Silverado we gave everything to so you can do anything. Exhibiting true, refined ruggedness, High Country features a powerful 5.3L EcoTec3 V-8 engine along with unique chrome wheels and an exclusive Saddle brown premium leather interior, which you won’t find in any other Silverado. Added chrome exhaust tips, chrome door handles and a chrome grille insert, along with body-color front and rear bumpers, outline its bold stance. But we didn’t stop there. A power-sliding rear window, remote start, touch-screen radio with Chevy MyLink,† halogen projector-beam headlamps, Rear-Vision Camera System and a trailering package, just to name a few, put this truck above all others. Available fall 2013.

Again just the 4.10 is the only difference. IF you think a regular cab warrents enough differance then why is thier no differance in name between the Supercrew and supercab. Its the same differance between an SXT regular cab and supercab.

Some people like Don are confused. As others have already stated, the name isn't changing, only the decal on the side and packaging. There is a PACKAGE that is being added to the FX2/4.

It will still be called a FX2 or FX4 and say FX2 and FX4 on the bage.

The "Tremor Package" will include: Regular Cab, EcoBoost, 4.10, flow through console with MFT and FX Appearance Pakcage combo.

Without the package deal the option would not be possible. If you want to argue that the RC EcoBoost should be available on all trim levels, that is another argument for a different day.

Don't like it, don't buy it. As for packaging, I seem to recall Silverado saying they will get a Texas Edition for 2014 which is nothing more than a badge. The Ram Outdoorsman has been criticized as a sticker package.

At least with the Ford here there are some firsts: first F!50 RC EcoBoost and first F150 RC with flow through console. Whether you think that's a good package or not is besides the point.

*correction to my last line: first RC EcoBoost short box

This is awesome. I wonder why other manufacturers don't build stuff like this, oh wait cuz their lame and still trying to recover from bankruptcy. Pathetic!!!!

King of Beers and my relatives: Budweiser
The king of beers apparently reigns supreme in an area it may not want to rule over. In a pilot study that I did of 85 of my closest relatives across the country that were seeking treatment at the ER and had been drinking, 15% named Budweiser as the alcoholic beverage they had consumed. That percentage stands in contrast to Bud's national market share: 9%. Others on the list included Steel Reserve, Colt 45, Bud Ice, and King Cobra, the hospitals reported to our family that; 46% of my relatives named one of those beverages, though together they have just a 2.4% market share; my own mother is considered a heavily consumer of Vodka, gin, brandy, and cognac. When I asked her to comment, she said “I’ll drink to that” and passed out. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Why am I saying this? Well when you do as much drinking as my family does, having a big truck to drive around with is really helpful in keeping us all safe. The bigger the better! Why doesn’t this article “take a closer look at the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor’s” safety features? It’s always all about speed, towing and performance.

More fake posts. Keep it up boys and you will have to find a new URL to use to access this site.

Ok, the fact that the grill surround is body colored and not bright chrome at least makes it more appealing. So does the lighting front and back; though personally I'm not a strong fan of 20" wheels yet.

I rather hope at least some of these changes migrate into the other versions over time.

@Len D (and others): Maybe these people asking for more on THIS truck literally want THIS truck's looks and features on their own body of choice. I LIKE the blacked-out grill with body-colored surround. I LIKE the shifter in the console. I LIKE the bucket seats. I LIKE the smoked lighting. None of those is available (that I've been able to see) on any other model even as a package. Getting an FX2 or FX4 without those things may give you the same capabilities, but it's NOT a Tremor. I would prefer an extended cab with the Tremor's looks inside and out. By definition, it will never be available from Ford.

There’s no quieter full-size pickup interior on the market, thanks to inlaid triple-sealed doors, a more aerodynamic windshield angle and a tuned exhaust system. Silverado models equipped with the 6.2L EcoTec3 V-8, coming fall 2013, also have active noise cancellation, similar to the sound-reducing technology used in high-end headphones.

Vulpine: All of that stuff is already available in a SuperCab and SuperCrew.

It is called FX2/4 with the FX Apperance Package.

appearance package. You can just go look up FX Appearance Package. Available in SuperCab and SuperCrew.

The grille will be changing for 2014. The grille pictured on the Tremor will be the standard FX Appearance Package grille and/or FX grille.

The people asking about the grille. It FX Appearance Package grille changed for 2014, but that will be the grille on all FX Appearance Packages. Ford not offering the look on SuperCab and SuperCrew is just wrong info.

I'll make it really simple for you guys.

The "looks" is the FX Appearance Package.

You can buy this on a extended cab or crewcab, too.

Looks inside and out = FX Appearance Package (supercab and crewcab available) - grille, smoked HID, decals, interior.

Tremor = Regular cab, short box, EcoBoost, 4.10, FX Appearance Package, Tremor decal instead of FX decal.

I hope that clears it up.

@Vulpine - Ford grills are actually a 2 piece unit. The surround/bezel is a separate piece from the centre grill portion. Ford can mix and match any "centre section" with any surround/bezel. A service advisor pointed out o me that their grills are 2 piece when I had to get my grill replaced recently under warranty.
