Ford Releases Pricing for 2015 F-150

IMG_8520 II

By Aaron Bragman

Over the weekend, Ford released ordering guides to dealers around the country for its totally redesigned, all-aluminum 2015 F-150 pickup truck. As expected, there's a price bump with the new pickup, but it's not necessarily due just to the copious use of the expensive lightweight metal — there's a raft of new standard content for the big pickups at every trim level, delivering a decent bump to value as well as technology. Let's go through the five trim levels to see what the new major standard features are, as well as the price increase expected for each. Destination charge remains unchanged at $1,195.

XL: Base price increases $395

New standard equipment includes:

  • 2.3-inch display in gauge cluster
  • 4.2-inch LCD with MyFord for audio system
  • Telescoping steering wheel
  • Two additional speakers
  • Driver's grab handle

XLT: Base price increases $395

Adds on to XL:

  • Power tailgate lock
  • BoxLink bed configuration system

Lariat: Base price increases $895

Adds to XLT:

  • 8-inch LCD gauge cluster (replaces analog gauges)
  • LED cargo box lighting
  • Heated and cooled front seats
  • Rearview camera
  • Power folding mirrors

King Ranch: Base price increases $3,615

Adds to Lariat:

  • LED headlights and taillights
  • LED mirror spotlights
  • Power remote tailgate release
  • Two 400-watt power outlets
  • Blind spot warning with cross-traffic alert
  • Push-button start
  • Heated rear seats and steering wheel

Platinum: Base price increases $3,055

Adds to King Ranch:

  • Inflatable rear seatbelt airbags
  • Multicontour massaging front seats

The biggest price jump comes for the King Ranch, with a surprising $3,615 increase to the truck's base price. Ford spokesman Mike Levine says that this represents $4,500 worth of additional content. In addition, PickupTrucks.com has learned what choosing some of the optional engines will add to the sticker price of a new 2015 F-150.

  • To go from the standard 3.5-liter V-6 to the turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 will add just $495 to the bottom line.
  • The turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 will run you $1,995, or $100 less than it costs to go from the standard 3.7-liter V-6 in the 2014 F-150 to the EcoBoost 3.5-liter today.

Ah, you are correct. Sorry about that! This site would benefit from some more organization to thread postings. Anyone can be tough under a fake name and spew garbage.

@Mark Williams
Can you look into this?

@Bill - you won't get a rise out of Mark Williams by commenting on the blog. I doubt anyone from PUTC ever reads the comments any more.

if you click on "contact us" on the bottom of the page you can file a complaint.

I won't be buying a Ford anytime soon however, This new Ford F 150 with Ram influenced front end does look handsome. Ford's Ram inspired front end on the Super Duty has a face only Ford fans drunk on the kool aid could love. After all this site does say state your opinion and this is mine. : )

Chris: so you are saying the Eco-diesel only tows 6500? The 8500 number has been stated for the 2.7, so maybe you should check the Eco-diesel specs a bit closer. That 2.7 will eat more gas towing, and let's see, more torque per inch then the 3.5 Ego-boost, and they even say premium recommended for best performance, so pretty sure if you towed anything, you'd be wanting 89 at-least, my neck of the woods diesel is cheaper then 89.

But there is a lot of job security for Ford so called techs. All these turbo gassers running around, the 1.6 and 3.5 are making a bad name of themselves.

@ FordTrucks1... I am a little miffed about the price increase on the KR trim level. While i'm no Bill Gates, I do very well for myself. The rich don't stay wealthy by throwing money away. It still pays to make smart purchases.

HEMI V8

How come you never give Ford credit for saving Chrysler ? You do know the 93 Dodge Ram was styled by ford, right? That was Fords design that they didn't use. They sold it to Dodge! So actually, any truck that resembles a Ram is Ford styling. It doesn't matter anyway because the new F-150 absolutely doesn't resemble Ram at all. :)

@jim, Ram changed its looks to big rig styling in 1994. Went from 100,000 units to 300,000 units. It was a sales success. If you dont see the Ram styling in this handsome Ford F-150 than you need your eye's checked. See the grill pushed to the front? see the headlights pushed back? See the hood raised ans the fenders dropped? Sorry bud with Ram design which is far better than Ford and Chevy's wind numbers why wouldn't Ford change?

Ford had used plastic fenders and plastic hoods on trucks in the past. So I consider aluminum a step up. : )

@TRX-4 TOM

In my neck of the woods, people can buy a lot of gas for the $4000 they will be saving on choosing the 2.7 Ecoboost vs the Ecodiesel.

If you compare the 3.5 Ecoboost vs the 3.0 Ecodiesel, you sir are in for a massacre..... even the 2.7 Ecoboost ate the Ecodiesel's lunch....

Everyone please excuse little hemiv8. He got molested by a real ram when he was younger and he really liked it. Now anything with the ram name on it just blows his mind. He really is just a ram retard who just wants to irritate as often as possible. When you drive something that's 3rd best it has to be hard. And Jim is right, I remember Ford selling that design to Chrysler way back in 93. Glad you brought that up cause I'm sure many on here didn't know that but it is a fact. It leads all the way up to the spams they have today so little hemi needs to thank FORD. Thank em really hard.

HEMI V8

Let's try this again. That big rig styling in 94 is FORD'S design! Ford decided they weren't going to use it and sold it to Dodge! AS far as the hood raised and fenders dropped is concerned, that started with the 97 F-150! It had all that back then. AS far as the pushed out grill and pushed back headlights, the 99 super duties had that. This truck is a mixture of previous gens F-150 and Super Duties. Stop with the nonsense please. You don't have to bash the competition because your favorite is inferior. Ford kicks Rams butt with the oldest designs with the most satisfied owners too! Just wait until this time next year. Fords sales numbers are going to be bashing the current numbers. :)

Roflmao!

Ramtards are stupid now their claiming Ram invented the looks of a truck. is that another first like the J2807 that Toyota adopted before ram...hahahaha

insecure Ram owners going off how great their hemi is.... Looks like you have all been fooled as the so called hemi doesn't have hemispherical chambers. living on past glories must be tough.

Rams ZF 8 spd is nice that they out sourced... you definitely do not want to break this tranny without warranty. very costly.... we will see what happens to this tranny once Fiat starts to build them... can Tony remember to put in all the pieces.

Ram VM Diesel...it is a $4500 option and diesel fuel prices are higher then gas. what is the biggest complaint with the VM diesel... idling and city driving cause the EGR to plug.

Rams are service nightmares.... today owners will not purchase a next one ...the end is near for Chrysler/Ram Dodge.

bankrupt in 79... bought by Daimler in 98 to 2007.... sold to Cerberus ... now chapter 11 and we have the Italians. Fiat and Chrysler a match made in heaven of two companies who can't build a reliable vehicle.

Ram owners actually make fun of GM owners and call it government motors.... POT,Kettle,Black.

"I had the 2.8 diesel in a 2006 jeep liberty. I averaged 21 mpg canadian unloaded in the city. I got 19 mpg when I pulled trailer with approximately 4000lbs also city driving.

I had the egr replaced on warranty once but other than that the little diesel was awesome. It had a 5 spd auto. I can just imagine this little diesel with the new 8 spd auto. Oil changes were every 10,000 kms and cost $106 cdn. I see small diesels and 8spd auto's the way to go in the future. Cheap, reliable and have superior longevity to gas engines. Ram or dakota with a small diesel and 8spd should push close to 30mpg...."

Ram haters keep on lying through their teeth about Ram Trucks:

1994 - 2001

The Ram line was redesigned for the 1994 model year. The exterior styling was the result of design concepts by chief designer Phillip E. Payne during 1988-1990, a review by the Dodge pick-up truck studio designers felt that all pick-ups looked "too flat and sedan like", while the early 50's Studebaker pick-up and the 18 wheeler trucks had just the right "macho" look to them. With a solid crew of strong talent Payne felt the task a great opportunity. Idea spark plug Clyde Nye and seasoned Joe Papai were great resources. The new approach was a little frightening to the truck product planners, when they first saw what the designers were doing, but they quickly got on board with the design.[4] It featured a big rig-looking front end and a large grille and was nothing like the current Ford or Chevy/GMC pickup in design. Development began in 1986, ending in late 1992, despite a more conventional design being originally scheduled for a 1991 production and when Bob Lutz proudly showed it to the new designers, Payne told him, "It looks like nothing more than a rehash of everybody else's truck." At that Lutz told him he had 6 months to come up with something better. We now know the result.[5]

The redesigned 1994 Ram was a sales success, with sales rocketing from 78,000 units in 1993 to 240,000 in 1994, 410,000 in 1995, and nearly 480,000 in 1996. That year, it was prominently featured as the hero vehicle in the film Twister. Sales of this generation peaked at just over 400,000 in 1999 before declining against the redesigned Ford and GM trucks. By 2001, Ram sales figures were below those of Ford and Chevy trucks.

Engine offerings continued over from the first-generation Ram and were the 3.9 L V6, 5.2 L V8, 5.9 L V8, and 5.9 L I6 Cummins Turbo diesel. Added to the line up was a new 488 cubic inch 8.0L V10 engine designed as an alternative for those who wanted superior pulling power but didn't want a diesel. The new V10 and Cummins Turbo diesel could only be had in the 2500 and higher designation models. Models were now the 1500 half-ton, 2500 three-quarter-ton, and 3500 dual-rear-wheel one-ton in both 2- and 4-wheel drive. 1500 Rams offered both 6.5- and 8-foot (2 and 2.4 m, respectively) boxes. 2500 Rams offered 6.5-foot (2.0 m) boxes with Club or Quad Cabs. 3500 Rams were only made with 8-foot (2.4 m) boxes.

Dodge offered the 2500 series in two different gross-vehicle weight ratings for the first few years, but this was later dropped. The purpose of the light duty and heavy duty 2500 trucks was for the heavy duty 2500 to take the place of the discontinued one-ton single-rear-wheel trucks. Rear axles for the light duty 2500 trucks were Semi-floating, while the heavy duty 2500 trucks were Full-floating.

On the inside, special attention was paid to in-cab storage features, with a large glove box, a center armrest storage area, and extra storage space behind the seat. The dash and gauge cluster were a far cry from the previous model Ram and was far more modern as well. A redesign of the dashboard and instrument cluster was introduced in 1998 along with the introduction of the quad cab, and rounded black plastic side-view mirrors replaced the previous rectangular design.

You don't have to bash the competition because your favorite is inferior. Ford kicks Rams butt with the oldest designs with the most satisfied owners too! Just wait until this time next year. Fords sales numbers are going to be bashing the current numbers. :)

Really? I don't see Ram In third place head to head when compared to Ford. Speaking of sales numbers Ram is double digits compared to Ford. Since were thanking Ford for everything dodge has. lol You can thank Dodge for Turbo Diesel Dodge for 4x4 Dodge for V10, Dodge for jake brake and on and on. In fact you can thank the Dodge brothers for Ford as a company since the put the money up in stock and built ford cars .lol

"When most people think of old cars, the Ford Model T comes to mind. It is little known, however, that the Dodge Brothers of Detroit, Michigan, are in many ways responsible for Ford’s success, which eventually led to their own success in the automotive industry, and made for the brothers a vast personal fortune."

@ LOU BC I have had this name since I made it on a gaming site in the late 90's. R3N was a gaming clan. You want to post what imposters have to say...great!

I have been cutting down ram/Dodge since 2009 because they sold me three trucks in a row that were absolute junk.

I had a jeep liberty? hahaha.. what did I do remove the front seat in and drive it from the rear seat...lol

I guess you fail again but nice try... kinda like your support for Ram.

Why are ram owners so jealous over ford.

now they are making fun of aluminium trucks... I would take a aluminium truck or recycled beer can over a rusty oil leaking ram pig.

ram owners should be proud that they have been bailed out 4 times as this surely indicates a quality vehicle everyone wants...not.

Ram owners and how great their Cummins diesels are yet for the longest time ford was making dollars off of everyone sold.

enjoy your fiat truck because in the end it will be you who gets rammed straight up the ass when the bottom falls out again.

How do you spot a Fiat truck?

it's the one with arm pit hair under the mirrors broken down on the side of the road

This notice applies to your vehicle (VIN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).

This interim notification letter is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic

Dear: (Name)
Chrysler has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in some 2013 model year
Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, and RAM 1500 series trucks equipped with a 3.6 liter engine, 8 speed
automatic transmission, and All Wheel Drive or Four Wheel Drive.
The problem is... The transmission output shaft on your vehicle may fracture while driving. If
the vehicle experiences this condition there will be a loss of motive power. The
condition may also prevent the transmission from being shifted into the “Park”
position, the inability to turn off the engine, an instrument cluster warning lamp
illumination, and the vehicle could experience unintended vehicle movement
after exiting the vehicle. The above conditions could cause a crash under
certain driving conditions.

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks manufactured July 1, 2013, through August 22, 2013. Randomly, the warning lights in the instrument cluster may fail to illuminate as designed.

Just received a New Recall 13V-038.
(The Rear Axle Pinion Nut may loosen due to Undersized Pinion Shaft Splines)
This relates to undersized pinion shaft splines!!
Have to wonder if this was the problem in the first place.
So much for outsourcing the rear Differential! What next.
Chrysler States it could take as little as 5 hours if found defective and possibly more. Will they cover transportation costs?
What Next.

Safety Recall N37/NHTSA 13V-287

break and result in the inability to fully control the HVAC functions.

All involved vehicles must have updated HVAC control head software installed

and the mode door actuators must be tested and replaced as required.

Lol @ those of you who want to laugh at the aluminum on the new F-150. Soon, your beloved truck brand will follow suit and do the exact same thing and you will love it. That's how it works, one brand comes out with something new, the others follow.

Look at the awesome fuel mileage the ram ecodiesel already achieves. Now take 700lbs or so off of the truck........ It's gonna happen, just a matter of time before GM and Ram do the same

Ford F150 Engine Fires!

"On Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 10:00pm my 2001 Ford F-150 started a fire under the hood after being parked for several hours. There was no trouble with the truck and we had just spent about $700 on maintenance services. Thank God my husband & kids were still up when they heard a loud noise outside, went to see what was going on, and found the truck in flames. The fire started to melt the vinyl siding on my house but the firefighters arrived just in time before the house caught on fire. I thank God for sparing my family and home. However, I would like to get any advice from those who has filed a case with Ford because something has to be done about these vehicles."

"Back in about 2007 I purchased a used Ford 150 truck from a friend. The friend had the truck for two years and did not need it anymore, so I purchased it. One day my son and a friend were on a country road when I received a cell phone call that fire was coming out from under the hood. They called 911 and fire trucks were dispensed. The truck actually had a melted engine and totaled from the engine to the middle of the back of the bed. Three weeks later I got a recall notice. I only had liability so I ask my friend who I purchased it from if he had, and he said no. Ford had me send pictures to them. Their response was it was burnt so bad that determination could not be made. Once again today I get notified of the recall."

Ford Expands 2014 F-150 Recall; Advises Owners to Stop Driving Trucks

Published: 06/25/2014

Just the Facts:
Ford is expanding a recall of the 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck because of an electronic power-assist steering gear problem.
It also warned owners not to drive their vehicles.
Ford dealers have been instructed to stop delivering any affected vehicles.

DEARBORN, Michigan — Ford is expanding a recall of the 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck because of an electronic power-assist steering gear problem.

"Ford is advising affected owners not to drive their vehicles and to contact their dealers immediately for the needed repair," said Ford in a statement posted on its Web site on Tuesday.

The automaker will expand the recall to cover 5,675 Ford F-150 trucks. Affected vehicles were built from May 26 through June 19, 2014.

The 2011 and 2012 Ford F-150 is part of a larger recall that affects more than 10,000 Ford cars and trucks. The vehicles are being recalled because of an improperly calibrated transmission range sensor, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In the affected F-150s, the transmission may not go into Reverse, or the vehicle may go into Reverse but the “R” may not illuminate on the dashboard when the driver pushes the shift lever into Reverse. In certain cases, the backup lamp may not illuminate. This condition increases the risk of a crash or a pedestrian being struck.

Around 3 am in the morning, our f150 2001 caught fire scaring the street and nearly burning the neighbors house down . Very traumatizing. Make sure you take your vehicle to a ford dealership and get that taken care of . ASAP

July 8, 2014: 3:54 PM ET Ford Motor recalled about 100,000 cars and trucks Tuesday.
The biggest recall was for 92,000 cars that have an axle problem that can either prevent the car from starting or essentially shift the car into neutral when it's on the road. Stopped cars can also roll if the parking brake isn't engaged.

So If my Ram is a P.O.S I guess that makes your Ford a Flaming P.O.S

I have the gayest 2003... oowee just saying it gives me a big boner... it's poking out about two inches... I better run to my truck and play some culture club tunes. hehehe

Is it okay to put wax on rust? I want to polish up my 2003 Dodge Ram. There is rust above both rear wheels and behind the front tires on the lower fenders.

any tips on what I can do about paint peeling off the hood to the primer?

Also any advice on how to get oil stains off my driveway where I park my truck?
