Recall Alert: 2009-2014 Ford F-150

2014FordF150recall

Vehicles Affected: Model-year 2014 F-150 pickup trucks manufactured between March 1 and May 31 at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan, 2014 F-150 pickup trucks manufactured between March 1 and May 31 at the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri, and 2009-14 F-150 pickup trucks serviced with a suspect seat track assembly between Feb. 17 and Oct. 31

The Problem: A passenger seat sensing issue could result in non-deployment of the passenger-side airbag in certain frontal crashes if an adult is in the passenger seat, increasing the risk of an injury. Ford said it is unaware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.

The Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will widen the gap between the manual seat frame seat track assembly, then calibrate the seat occupant classification system for free. The automaker has not yet announced a notification schedule.

What Owners Should Do: Owners can call Ford at 866-436-7332 for more info.

say it aint soooo!

This is no any serious thread for Ford driver. You can keep driving your truck safely.

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
Ford is also recalling 27,600 Transit Connect vans, built for model year 2014 between August 1, 2013 and July 10, 2014. These vas, fitted with a 2.5-liter engine, are being recalled due to a potentially bad routing for the fuel and vapor lines. The two lines could rub together if they're improperly set up, which in turn could cause a leak, increasing the likelihood of a fire.
It's nice to see Ford taking care of the problems.
Just please ford fan boys don't start talking about RAM recalls next time, because you'll burn. I don't want to start a flame war.

Yeah you do.

zviera
you're correct! These Ford recalls are not a serious issue UNLIKE the Ram with the tie rods cracking and falling off causing a total steering loss THEN when you go to the Ram Dealer he doesn't have any replacement tie rods on stock!

What ever makes you happy Tom#3

zviera
NO! I'm not happy about a very serious, dangerous issue with Ram trucks total loss of steering! I am deeply concerned about loss of life! The truck could crash into another vehicle!
Ram and or the government should take these trucks off the road! Ram should give the owner a loaner truck to use until they replace the tie rods.
If I owned one and the dealer told me he has no parts I would repair it myself! If I couldn't get replacement tie rods I would wire it together with a coat hanger, or use tape! ANYTHING!
I would be afraid to drive it!

A non deployment of an airbag?

Considering those shrapnel airbag recalls , this isn't so bad.

@ Lou as I'm sure you know, nearly ALL auto mfg's are all in same boat with airbag recall ALL made by same Japan supplier. Ford GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan etc. Some haven't even been recalled yet reports say because until the Japan parts mfg gets 2 new production lines up and running, won't be until Jan 2015. SO more airbag stuff still to come.
I thought I read either Honda or Toyota telling owners not to have anyone sit in front pass seat. Ya that goes over well.

Gee after the Ram Haters tried to blast Ram about a front end issue now their beloved Ford has a steering issue.

How about everyone quit throwing stones at all the manufactures over recalls.

I was shocked that the dealership only had 4 door, f 150's on display at Keim ford last night.
I may have to buy a chevrolet.................................
