Recall Alert: 2014 Ford Transit Connect

6a00d83451b3c669e201bb07a5b3cc970d-800wi

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 25,000 model-year 2014 Ford Transit Connect vehicles manufactured Aug. 1, 2013, to July 10, 2014

The Problem: The fuel and vapor lines may have been installed incorrectly and could make contact. This could result in an abrasion to the lines and a possible fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the affected lines for free.

What Owners Should Do: Ford began notifying owners last month. Owners can call Ford at 866-436-7332 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 for more information.

TTC = Turkish Tin Can. Check out how the paint on the plastic faux window panels is about 19 shades different from the body color. Will they recall that in 3 years?

Business as usual at Ford. Ford and Fires go hand in hand. That is why after my Ford burned and I had to pay a car off I could not drive I was done with Ford. After 18 years of not owning a Ford I guess not much as changed. Ford still continues to have Fire recalls at an Alarming rate.

ENJOY!

As a friend I am asking you are the past Ford's catching on fire cause of electrical problems or fuel related problems?
Or both?
I thought you said in the past the Ford's catch on fire due to electrical problems.
This recall is a fuel related problem with fuel lines rubbing, not electrical.

Ford doesn't have the most recalls, there are many other brands of vehicles out there that have more recalls than total number of their vehicles sold. I don't want to get in a pissing match by naming what brand has the most and least recalls cause that will just piss people off.

I can understand why you're mad at Ford the same way I am mad at Toyota cause they didn't honor warranty issues on a brand new Tacoma I once owned.

I am not excited about my F-150, I have issues with it, BUT I love the way my Ford Dealer treats me like gold and does take care of warranty problems and a $35 full service, tire rotation.

I DO agree with you about the paint problems on Ford vehicles, they use a cheap water based paint that fades in the sun.
Everybody buying a new Ford should include the paint protection package option, and NEVER use any wax

Do Fords still come with a bag of marshmallows as standard equipment?

No one should have to buy extended warranty or gap insurance. Why should anyone have to pay extra for manufacturers mistakes. Defeats the purpose of buying a quality vehicle.

Well, if he had to pay off the Mustang, he must have bought used, and not from a dealership. Makes you wonder how old it was? But anyway, every vehicle I bought on finance required proof of full coverage. Maybe the "buy here, pay here" places are different.

I would be pissed too, but atleast full insurance can get you to within 5 bills.

@Tom#3: Fords (as well as others) but especially Fords have a lot of catch fire causes, just look at the long list of recalls on the Escape. Fuel leaks, oil leaks, you name it.

But it's 2nd best selling suv, lol.
