Video Find: Ford Versus Ram Tug-of-War
Posted by Mark Williams | February 1, 2015
We love the classic confrontations: Godzilla versus King Kong, Rocky versus Batman, the New England Patriots versus the Seattle Seahawks, and now a Ford 8600 tractor versus a Dodge Ram 3500 with a Cummins. There is plenty wrong with this type of tug-of-war, but we thought you'd like it. Look for the January pickup sales chart on Tuesday. Enjoy.

Try it in a field.
New RAM 3500 owner find someone to drag across US finally.
Try it in a field.

Ford would flip over in a field.
Cummins Baby!
In a field, that ram wouldn't get as much traction. The tractor tire lugs are made for diggin. Street tires on Ram ain't gonna have a chance.
What their not showing you is all the weight tucked under the tonneau cover of that Ram!
hmmm....6WD v. 2WD....
..still humorous....
It looks good but the tractor has an old 1970's diesel engine with about 95hp.

He is right look at how the Ram is sitting in the back there is extra weight in the back of the 1 ton
The out come of this tug of war may of been different if the operator of the Ford 8600 would of locked the differential.
The HP of the Ford made no difference in this tug of war. Coefficient of friction did the Ram had more with the weight in the bed.
Where's the Space Shuttle?
Even our global Ranger towed a 400 000lbs steam engine.
Maybe Elon Musk could get one of his rockets towed by the 2015 F-150.
Imagine that Tesla and Ford.
This was my favorite tug of war.

You can tug-a-war all day long and all it comes down to is weight. Who ever weighs the most is the one who gets the traction to the ground, especially if its over those rear tires.
Tom Brady didn't look excited about getting a Chevy Colorado for winning the MPV.
Ram fails as a top truck, and it can't plow a field like a Ford tractor can.
@tj,
But Ram's brother Case makes some mean tractors.
It would pull both the F-150 and Ford tractor and not even realise it.

Truck tugg-o-wars are probably the stupidest comparisons that exist. Generally whoever loses traction first loses the tug. Has almost nothing to do with which is "better".
This video brings back memories when I pulled a Dodge Power Wagon across a super market parking lot with my Chevy Blazer. I never spun a tire and he was burning tires all the way until I stopped. The owner of the Power Wagon now drives a Silverado LTZ and says he would never go back to a pitiful Ram.
I think my IQ just dropped a couple of points as a result of watching that... Thank you PUT.com
Interesting that this video is from the UK.

Great post! Fun to watch..
Way to go on stirring up the Trolls, Mark.
Of course the Dodge Cummins is going to win, The tractor tires (lugs) are designed to gain traction in dirt!!!!!!!!! But when it comes to torque multiplication, the tractor is far stronger, enough twist to pull a 1,000 to 3000lbs plus disc unit thru soil. It isn't about horsepower but torque, and in its element the tractor is the KING!!!!!
No these silly types of pull offs are all about TRACTION You can have all the TQ in the world but if you can't put it to the ground (In this case asphalt) it does you no good.
Lets see, a tractor with two tires spinning vs 6 tires on the truck. Wonder who will win...
