Mighty Ford F-750 Tonka Dump Truck Video
Posted by Mark Williams | March 6, 2015
By far the most eye-catching truck at the 2015 National Truck Equipment Association's Work Truck Show, this specialty one-off partnership between Tonka and Ford designers is an attempt to recapture the joy associated with a "first-truck" experience. How many small boys and girls were introduced to the core capabilities and strengths of a work truck through the Tonka toys they received at Christmas? Now they have a 10-foot-tall real-life Tonka based on the 2016 Ford F-750.

Ram 4500/5500 Named Medium-Duty Truck of the Year
March 5, 2015

The interesting part about all this is the fact that Ford ran Cummins engines in their MDT's for years. They now have swapped over to their "in house" diesel.
If one looks at Ram they chose not to go with the Cummins 5.0 even though it was tested in the 1500. They went with their own "in house" VM Motori diesel.
VM Motori, Case, Iveco all have their own diesel engines and they have one that is very similar to the Cummins 6.7 in the Ram HD's. IIRC it was co-developed with Cummins.........
The trend is in house engines.
Does that mean the big red "C" days are numbered in the Ram HD's?
That is the billion dollar question?
The VM Motori engine was devloped by GM before before Fiat became owner. Fiat-Ram decided not to go with the Cummins 5.0 in the 1500 because it got poor fuel economy. Makes sense to me.
@Mark Williams
Do you know if you can get the f650/750 in 4x4?
DodgeGuy65 - Ford's web site indicates 4x2 and no tandem axle configurations.
I wonder why Ford didn't use the interior styling from the next gen Super Duty and current F150.
@ Lou BC
Thanks for the info,
DodgeGuy65- makes no sense not having a 4x4 option. 4x4 TopKicks with service decks were real popular in the logging industry.
