2015 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 Stars in 'Jurassic World'

Unless you've been living under a rock for almost 25 years, you know how popular the "Jurassic Park" movie franchise has become. The newest installment — "Jurassic World" — made its premiere in Hollywood Tuesday, and one of the most impressive red-carpet celebrities and key players from the film was the pickup truck variant of the new 2015 G63 AMG 6x6.

Mercedes-Benz vehicles are prominently highlighted in the movie, with several stock and modified trucks used by the main characters to (literally) drive the action, including an all-new 2016 GLE AMG 450 Coupe, a Unimog dinosaur ambulance, a customized Sprinter van and the 6x6 G-Wagen troop carrier. Although we haven't driven the 6x6 yet, we did get the chance to see the truck on Hollywood Boulevard before the first U.S. showing of the movie.

The G63 is impressive and quite real; the first 6x6 G-Wagens were built for the Australian army several years ago. The truck has acquired cult status since Mercedes-Benz moved it to the automaker's high-performance AMG stable. The truck offers two driven rear axles, four locking differentials, almost 600 horsepower from a hand-built twin-turbo V-8 and 37-inch-tall military-style tires. If you're looking to purchase one of these, you'll need more than $600,000.

The best video we could find on the G63 AMG 6x6 is from a BBC "Top Gear" test from a few years ago.

6x6? Meh. Love me some Unimog though!

The Milspec unit would be much more interesting to me. Not many other than Arab Sheikhs have 1.5 million to spend on a toy that will get run hard.

gd thing is a 6x6 amphtrac that civilians can own, could buy 4 fully optioned mrap like isis has for the price of one of those 6 wheelers

I'd like to see how that would do in Dakar rally..
If I had the money I'd get me one of these Czech Tatra trucks,
air cooled Diesel engine and independent axles ...

Looking forward to seeing this product placement-filled Hollywood blockbuster sequel!

Australian Army makes sense as it replaces the 6 wheel LandRovers, powered by a Toyota V8 engine used by groups like the SAS

Saw videos of this thing in action.. I want one!

over priced junk
