Recall Alert: 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 15,000 model-year 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GM Canyon midsize pickup trucks manufactured between Jan. 6, 2014, and Dec. 24, 2014, at the Wentzville, Mo., assembly plant
The Problem: Imperfections in the casting process of the front brake calipers could have allowed air pockets to form, allowing a pathway for small amounts of brake fluid to leak out of the reservoir. The condition could cause longer braking distances as well as longer brake pedal travel, both of which could increase the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the front calipers and, if necessary, replace them free of charge.
What Owners Should Do: GM will begin notifying owners on July 10. For more information, owners can call Chevrolet at 800-222-1020, GMC at 800-462-8782, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more information.

They should just recall every Colorado made, cause they are all pure junk!
Yup, a pair of bad $100 calipers must mean the other $38,800 worth of truck is junk too...
I own a 2015 Colorado Z71 built in February 2015 and it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I've had zero problems with it in the 3,600 miles I've driven it so far.
What I don't get about a recall like this is why does every single model of vehicle have to get its own unique parts? Seems like GM could get by with about three different brake caliper designs across its entire line of vehicles. They probably have more like 300.
FredJ |- 3600 miles trouble free. Well I should hope so. If I bought a new vehicle and it was having trouble at that low mileage I would be quite PO'd
FredJ, so your the one who bought a Colorado, well at least now we all know who bought it.
Wow Fred, 3600 miles with no problems? Is that a record for a new Chevy? Seriously, how is 3600 miles even worth mentioning?
I'm waiting for them to get all the bugs out of them and like any new vehicle, probably get one the middle of next year.
One of the brand new vehicles that I bought had bad cast aluminum rims, 2 of them leaked air thru their casting
I'm with Fred! I have a 2015 Z71 Colorado with 14,000 miles with no problems. It's a nice vehicle!
I have 15,562 miles on my 2015 Canyon All Terrain 3.6L (bought in November 2014) and I've had no issues whatsoever. Just got back from a 2,200 mile trip to Colorado and I was never worried about anything. Great gas mileage being a 4x4 pickup. Averaged 26 with my best being 30.3 mpg going between 75-80 mph. Couldn't be any happier with it.
