Recall Alert: 2011-2015 Ford F-650, F-750

2015 ford f650 recall

Vehicles Affected: Almost 26,000 model-year 2011-2013 and 2015 Ford F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks produced at the Escobedo Assembly Plant in Mexico from Feb. 14, 2011, to April 28, 2015

The Problem: The front passenger and center seat belts might not be anchored in the correct position relative to the seats, increasing the risk of an injury should there be a crash. Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.

The Fix: Due to the significant number of cab and seating configurations in these models, service procedures are still being developed in an effort to provide a simple and effective fix.

What Owners Should Do: Ford will begin notifying customers by mail starting Sept. 21, asking them to contact their local dealers regarding the recall. To find out if your vehicle is affected, Ford has an extensive "Safety Recall" page at Ford.com where customers can type in their vehicle identification number and find out if their vehicle has been recalled. For more information call Ford at 866-436-7332 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236.

Thanks FORD for stepping up and taking care of business. Nobody had to remind you or force you to do so, like some others we know.

Glad they are bringing this line to the USA. Quality should increase.
I love working for an American manufacturer. We design, manufacture and build in Minnesota. Too bad we cannot find enough machinist, welders or electricians.

@Trucknuts. Ya, it only took Ford 4 years. DUH!

In May, Fiat Chrysler asked a Georgia judge for a new trial after a jury in April awarded $150 million to the family of Remington Walden, who was burned to death when the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee in which he was riding was hit from behind in March 2012. The SUV’s design had a plastic gas tank mounted behind the rear axle which ruptured and leaked gasoline, causing a fire.

Last month, Judge J. Kevin Chason of Decatur County Superior Court cut the verdict to $40 million: $30 million for wrongful death and $10 million for pain and suffering. Lawyers for the Walden family said they accepted the reduced verdict.

Chason said there was no merit to Fiat Chrysler’s argument that the “jury acted from passion or prejudice.”

The jury ruled that Fiat Chrysler was 99 percent responsible for Walden’s death, and that it acted with reckless disregard for human life in selling the Jeep to the family.

“FCA has tried to mislead everyone — the court, the jury, NHTSA, and the public,” said Jeb Butler, a lawyer for the family. “FCA should look in the mirror — its problem is the simple fact its product is indefensible, but at trial FCA tried to defend that product by making things up.”

Washington — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV said Tuesday it will appeal a verdict in the death of a 4-year-old boy in a Jeep gas tank fire, even after a Georgia judge reduced the value of a $150 million verdict against Fiat Chrysler to $40 million.

The company said in a legal notice it would appeal the verdict to the Georgia Court of Appeals after the judge upheld the verdict, calling the evidence “overwhelming.” The automaker didn’t lay out its rationale for seeking to overturn the verdict in its legal notice.

@Hemi V8

Funny, in the article about Ram buying back defected vehicles from 2009 (which is two years before 2011 just in case you haven't gotten to the grade where you learn how to add) you made a post saying congrats to Ram for stepping g up and taking care of things. Now just a few weeks later you are chastising the exact same comment someone else makes about Ford stepping up and making it right? That makes no logical sense unless you hold Ford to a higher standard than Ram. If that is the case then I would have to ask why you think so little of Ram to hold it to a lower standard than Ford since it is okay for Ram to buy back hundreds of thousands of trucks dating back to 2009, but not okay for Ford to recall only 26,000 trucks going back to 2011. I did know you thought so highly of Ford for you to hold them to a higher standard.

@Hecho En Mexico V8, I couldn't of said it better myself, thanks. You too Fred. Hemiv8 barely gets out of one pile of crap before he steps in another one. You just can't fix his stupid.

I would like to see that post.

General Motors has issued more recalls on more of its models than any other auto manufacturer since 2004, according to a TIME analysis of federal safety data. In last ten years, GM has recalled an individual model for a specific issue 756 times. Ford Motor Company has the second highest tally with 559 such recalls.

Pot calling the kettle black. lol

You just can't fix his stupid.

Ford settles truck fire suit!

A 23-year-old man who received second- and third-degree burns to his face, neck, both arms and both hands when his Ford Ranger pickup caught fire as he was driving down the freeway, has settled with the Detroit-based auto manufacturer. Although the amount is confidential, it is reported to be three times what Ford offered at mediation.
This case arose out of a fire that occurred in the 1997 vehicle while Ryan Rickert was driving on Interstate 45 between Houston and The Woodlands. Rickert first noticed the fire to his right and behind him. He believed that it started between the bed and the cab of the truck, broke through the back passenger window and came into the truck and burned him. However, Rickert's account of the fire as originating behind him, between the bed and the cab, was directly contrary to his own expert's opinion that the fire originated inside the cab.

Ford sued, said to hide truck fuel tank defect.

Ford Motor Co has been sued for allegedly selling trucks with defective fuel tank linings over a 10-year period, and hiding the problem from consumers even as it warned dealers.

The lawsuit filed Wednesday in a New Jersey federal court said fuel tank linings on 10 E- and F-series truck models made between 1999 and 2008 would "separate and flake off.

Ford Faces Class-Action Lawsuit Over Unintended Acceleration

By Kelsey Mays on April 1, 2013

https://www.cars.com/articles/2013/04/ford-lawsuit/

Consumers in 14 states have filed a class-action lawsuit against Ford over unintended acceleration in cars built between 2002 and 2010. The suit, which was filed in a West Virginia U.S. District Court on March 28, alleges that Ford models built between 2002 and 2010 with electronic throttles can allow unintended acceleration. The vehicles in question, which include nearly three-dozen Ford, Lincoln and Mercury nameplates, lack a brake override system. Ford began installing the system in its U.S. cars in 2010.

Keep going hemiv8. That should send the fanboys in a tizzy. You can even go back to exploding pintos, which they really want everyone to forget. Hey I saw a ranger on fire last week in Arkansas.

You can try and say that wasn't you, but we all know as we have seen you rearrange your name or add stuff to it many times in the past. Like I said, I am surprised that one such as yourself that likes Rams so much has higher standards for Fords. I also find it funny that you being a UAW hack would be for a truck that is made in Mexico with an engine made in Mexico. I guess Ram is more important to you that your UAW brothers? Do they know that?

Thank you for proving my point. I post under HEMI V8 Nothing more nothing less. ;-)

What a load of crock. So let me get this straight. If you honestly think we believe that you are fooling anybody then you are dumber then I thought or you are smoking the hard stuff.

@Hemi V8, yeah four years is a long time to get a recall. By the way, I just got a recall notice for my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee!

All you guys need to lighten up on poor HemiV8.....he got all butt hurt when his F150 burned up from a probable Texas Instruments cruise control switch that was recalled long ago..and he hasn't gotten over it and is still all pissy at Ford and so now would still rather drive an inferior truck instead of still driving the best just because he got a truck with a lemon part in it..get over it

@chuck Z,

inferior? That's funny. A beer can with a V6 that's garbage @70,000 dollars Please. I will keep my V8 Hemi power muscular sound that has been proven reliable.

Ford sued over alleged 3.5-liter EcoBoost defects

Stay thirsty Chuck.

Boy shemaleV8 just keeps on and on. Something like that energizer bunny. I don't remember Ford having to buy back dangerous vehicles like ram is having to do. He post under so many different names and then lies and says no. What a warped little child he is. Just go on back to school today little hemi and maybe the school bully will wear you out, if he ain't already. What a sad excuse for a human being you are. I bet anyone coming on here that likes ram just looks at your post and see's the your stupidity written all over it. Your an embarrassment to them you idiot.

Ford should have recalled all the 6.0 junk they sold over the years. I sit in Fremont Ohio at the moment with a broke down Ford F350 dually. Over $10,000 repairs in the last two years and counting. Thank God I do not own this piece of JUNK!

@greg, enjoy your stay. Need to be mad at Navistar first. They made the engine. That's why Ford started making there own and don't depend on outside sources any longer unlike some others do.

Truckcrazy,
I thought when Ford started to manufacture the infamous engines, design changes were incorporated.

So, in effect the Ford engine was a little different.

Didn't Navistar take Ford to court over some of the poor design features?

I might be wrong.

Ford settles class action suit over defective Navistar diesel engines.

The 2003 Ford F-Series Super Duty (shown above) introduced the 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel supplied by Navistar, and while that is an engine Ford would love to forget, it's now one step closer to putting that particular problem behind it. Automotive News is reporting that Ford has settled a class-action lawsuit brought on by problems with this engine that started right out of the gate and ultimately broke up the 30-year relationship between Ford and Navistar.

The Ford Windstar Recall and Buy Back Program.

Why Did Ford Institute a Buyback Program for the Windstar?
Buyback programs are rare and hardly ever offered. The problem, as Ford soon discovered, were that many of the van models were over 10 years old. Already in poor condition, finding replacement parts for these older vehicles proved difficult. Plus, due to the overwhelming amount of recalls, customers were waiting for extremely long times to get their van repaired. In response to overwhelming complaints about the wait, Ford decided to institute a buyback program.
http://autos.answers.com/suvs-and-vans/the-ford-windstar-recall-and-buy-back-program

The Detroit News reports that Fiat Chrysler has agreed to buy back certain vehicles after some owners waited more than 18 months for repairs stemming from three separate recalls for steering issues. The complete list of vehicles eligible for the buyback is below.

Update: In a statement, FCA explains that the buyback offer only extends to owners who have not yet had their vehicles repaired in accordance with the recall. “As of this date, repairs have been completed on well over 60 percent of the subject vehicles, leaving less than 200,000 eligible vehicles,” the automaker says in the statement. Our original post has been edited to reflect these updated numbers.

Ford Super Duty 6.0 Diesel. Despite a massive early recall and almost 500 buybacks of vehicles with engines so badly flawed that they couldn't be fixed, Ford Motor Co. says the V-8 diesel it introduced in December remains popular among truck buyers.

http://www.autosafety.org/list-buyback-recalls

2004 Ford Ranger is on the buyback recall list above.

Ram agreed to buy back because of the amount of recalls so they couldn't fix them fast enough. It wasn't because the trucks were so flawed like the Ford Super Duty was. :-(

HemiV8,
Why TF are you such a fool?

Look at what you are doing?

This isn't school and I'm really surprised the Moderators haven't kicked your butt off of this site. You are as bad as the other kids ie, the Phord guys.

Whether its a Ram or a Silverado, these are inanimate objects, just piles of plastic and metal.

Are you providing or adding any value to this site?

Really? What a moron.

Love them Dodge trucks. Built Ram Tough!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHOOlhzRFq0

@Big Al, is this the same guy everybody but me wants of the site? Come on Al. I don't like stooping down to their level. Constantly having to prove them wrong cause they talk out of their @$$. I love this site. I am very passionate about my truck. It allows me great freedom. Go places and do things. Rain sleet or snow. My truck as been very reliable with one recall for air bags in 12 years. RESPECT would go along way in here. Look at who starts the rock throwing? So should i sit back and let them spread their LIES and DECEIT? No matter what they say I know the truth and have facts to back it up. It won't effect my buying decisions. I do my home work before I spend my hard earned money.

Shemalev8 has gone over the edge. I just feel sorry for all the other good ram fans that come on this site, or use to. Seems none of them do anymore because of this idiot. Looks like he or she will stay an idiot my friends.

HEMI V8 we get it, you hate Fords and love Fiats. That's fine. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions and my opinion is that you're an annoying unintellectual child who has absolutely nothing better to do than to constantly monitor these articles' comments and rip on Ford every chance you get. Yes, Ford has had problems in the past, but so has GM and Chrysler. So shut up and stop spreading your Fiat propaganda. You probably do this out of insecurity because you $h!t yourself every time a Ford zips past you. Don't bother commenting by the way because I don't give these a second look. I have real truck stuff to go do that a Ford handles best!

I agree with BAFO for a change..... I really wish these comments were moderated!!!!

what rebuild number are you on for your transmission hemi v8?

Little hemiv8 is in school right now.
