2017 Ford Super Duty: Video Reveal

17Ford_F-250_SuperDuty_FX4_ES_01 II

Curious about the Ford reveal of the 2017 Super Duty at the 2015 State Fair of Texas in Dallas? We were sitting in the stands under the blazing sun for the event, which mimicked an ESPN-style NFL pregame show. For the most part, it came off without a hitch. We especially liked the ESPN "Sport Science" piece Ford designed to show how much weight the new frame can support. Take a look at Ford's video below.

The trucks look amazing, and some of the Ford engineers told us the level of improvement between this new Super Duty and the one it replaces is greater than the level of improvement between the 2015 F-150 and the previous-generation F-150. From our perspective and experience, this could be the best news to come out of the new Super Duty's world debut.

FCA US LLC is bringing its latest models, state-of-the-art displays, and several unique interactive experiences to the State Fair of Texas, Sept. 25-Oct. 18.

"We will treat State Fair attendees to everything from the world's fastest muscle cars, to the most fuel-efficient pickup trucks, to seductive American sedans," said Mike Dragojevic, Director of the Southwest Business Center, FCA US. "The State Fair of Texas gives us a chance to demonstrate how our Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT vehicles uniquely answer the demands of Texans."

Chrysler Brand and the 'Car of Texas'
The Chrysler brand is marking significant anniversaries in 2015 — 90 years of the Chrysler brand and 60 years for the Chrysler 300. To commemorate these milestones, the Chrysler brand display will include the new 2015 Chrysler 300 — the reigning "Car of Texas" awarded by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). In addition, the "Mid-size Car of Texas," the Chrysler 200, and the original luxury minivan, the Chrysler Town & Country, will be displayed.

The new, award-winning 2015 Chrysler 300 takes the nameplate's style and sophistication to new levels. With its iconic proportions, this head-turning big, bold American sedan is highlighted by world-class quality and craftsmanship and best-in-class 31 mpg highway fuel economy, plus class-exclusive innovations that include a state-of-the-art TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission, now standard on every model, and the segment's most advanced all-wheel-drive system. The new Chrysler 300 puts boulevards and interstates on notice once again.

Ultimate Performance Machines From Dodge and SRT
The 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat — the world's quickest, fastest and most powerful muscle car — will be on the State Fair show floor for the first time. And if that's not enough excitement from Dodge, the R/T Scat Pack model, with best-in-class 485 naturally aspirated horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque — the most horsepower under $40,000 — also will be on display.

2016 Fiat 500X
The all-new 2016 Fiat 500X combines authentic Italian design and engaging driving dynamics, together with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, unmatched functionality, and a full array of safety, comfort and convenience features. With comfortable seating for five, world-class craftsmanship, and superior ride and handling, the Fiat 500X delivers driving excitement, technology, safety and functionality to the rapidly growing small-crossover segment.

2015 Jeep Renegade
The all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade expands the brand's vehicle lineup, entering the growing small sport-utility-vehicle segment, while staying true to the Jeep brand's adventurous lifestyle and 4x4 capability. The Renegade delivers a unique combination of best-in-class off-road capability, open-air freedom, a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission that contributes to outstanding on-road and off-road driving dynamics, two fuel-efficient engines, and innovative safety and technology offerings.

2016 Ram Laramie Limited and Rebel
The 2016 Ram Laramie Limited, the benchmark in pickup truck opulence, offers an even higher level of refinement and attention to detail. The upgraded interior and exterior trim aligns with a long list of best-in-class titles under the Ram moniker, including fuel economy, payload, torque and towing capacity. The 2016 Ram Rebel brings a one-of-a-kind, off-road design to the full-size truck segment, sporting numerous off-road-ready features, including a suspension lift, 33-inch tires and a custom interior.

Free, Unique Experiences for State Fair Attendees
The FCA indoor and outdoor displays will feature a number of fun experiences for fair-goers with Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and FIAT vehicles.

Shadow Family Decals: Visitors can pose with their family and friends, holding the brand logo of their choice, to receive a white vinyl silhouette decal to apply to their vehicle's back window
Fun Photo Op: This multi-branded green screen offers fair-goers a choice of vehicle scenes and props. The scene is superimposed onto the photo and then e-mailed to the participant as a keepsake or to post on social media
Dodge Viper Simulator Challenge: Similar to last year's Charger Challenge, this year the video game simulator features a bright yellow Dodge Viper. Participants can test their track time while "driving" an actual Viper staged in front of three panoramic video screens and featuring realistic sound effects. It is a real-life, behind-the-wheel experience without leaving the auto show floor.
Jeep Alley: A new touch-screen interactive featuring six screens and capacity for six participants to customize their choice of Jeep vehicle and choose a variety of options, including, color, wheels and decals. The Jeep team will email their creation to participants. (Note: this attraction will only run in October.)
Ram Truck Zone: The outdoor Ram Truck display includes Big Red — a photo opportunity with a preserved Longhorn steer — and a new mechanical bull ride that will be a "mechanical ram" instead. Guests who dare to ride the ram in the Ram Truck Zone will get to keep their rodeo "back number" as a souvenir.

GUTSGLORYSPAM?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

@ Big Al

Im glad you found some humor in it!

Too bad we dont have some of your small trucks to try out. Would be really nice to have some options. I use little ones for travel and parts pickup. I like the size for parking space. Modified regular cab 8ft bed f350, and ram hd's are my work trucks. i use a eco boost to tow a 16ft landscape trailer with ztr exmark and dixon mowers. It works well and i like it for light towing. if We had a navara diesel though, you could bet your left nut i would buy one just for that. its only 4000lbs towing in steep hills. the MPG would be a big step up and that would make things worth it! I like the Navara looks best out of them all. I have my doubts about the US version being anything like the other though. we will see...

seems the Ford guys have introduced their "HemiV8" personality to the site as usual.

I wonder when the Ford fans are going to create the ultimate Chev/GMC dude to pretend to debate and argue with.

Do you Ford fans have that little faith in Ford you need to create a Ram prop (HemiV8) to prove your point that Ford's are better?

Come on guys.

I'm sorry AL but I think this Hemi V8 child is just way to low on the education scale to come from a Ford or GM camp.

Thanks Gomar. Please stay far, far away. Don't need any of that ram curse over here!!

@BigBOb: I am not sure of your math skills, however, it is safe to conclude that the silverado frame is stiffer. That's probably why my wife prefers riding in the Silverado.

@Crazytruck
Your are welcome. It's in my best interest anyway to stay away , because when you eat this ford bs , you won't spill any of it on me. Enjoy. More is comming.

Really glad you guys were able to join us! Great to meet you!

King of the Beasts. Meanwhile let the @$$ kicking commence ;-)

2016 Ram Heavy Duty Widens its Leadership Gap With a Triple-decker Presence: Best-in-class Power, Towing Capacity and Payload Capacity

• 2016 Cummins 6.7-liter calibration hits a best-in-class 900 lb.-ft. of torque. The most torque ever offered in a mass-production vehicle

• 2016 Ram 3500 crushes the competition with up to 31,210 pounds of SAE J2807-spec. towing capacity, beating the closest competitor by more than two tons

• 2016 Ram 2500 holds best-in-class ¾-ton towing title with 17,980 pounds of capacity

• Ram 3500 maintains best-in-class payload of 7,390 pounds with 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8

• Ram 3500 raises its best-in-class Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) to 39,100 pounds

• Ram maintains credibility and customer confidence as the only automaker to align with SAE J2807 towing standard across its entire pickup truck line

• Fuel economy is top of mind for Ram 1500 customers and the exclusive 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine continues to crush the competition with an amazing 29 miles per gallon (mpg)

• The first 2016 Ram Heavy Duty trucks begin rolling off the factory line third quarter of 2015

Nick Cappa of Ram communications said, "Ram is the only pickup manufacturer to use SAE J2807 towing criteria for all three full-size pickup truck segments, and we do not reduce the towing or payload capabilities of our pickups as elevation increases." Like Ford does. ;-)

@BigBaf00n - Overrated/comical OZ midsize pickup "payload" ratings are incompatible with conservative US pickup payload ratings. We has something we like to call "lawyers".

Your DOT equivalent leaves pickup payload ratings up to the truck maker's sense of humor!

Except the truck with the up to or near 3,000 lbs payload you keep quoting is far from the *typical* pickup in OZ, or anywhere. That's the base stripper, regular cab with the manual tran and gas 4 cylinder engine.

Noting every *option* reduces payload, so base trucks rule here. But to top it off, your example pickup comes without a pickup bed!

Yes you're quoting the payload of Cab/Chassis Navara that adds the weight of the missing pickup bed to its payload.. What a load of crap!!

It's stuff like this that gets you zero respect around here.

WOW real big feat there showing all the trucks hanging within INCHES of the cables from the crane! LMAO a Ranger frame could have done that LOL
