Recall Alert: 2015 Ram ProMaster
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 16,000 full-size 2015 Ram ProMaster vans built between Oct. 1, 2014, and June 17, 2015
The Problem: In affected vehicles the ignition switch may experience an intermittent loss of electrical contact. Intermittent loss of contact can cause the vehicle to stall, which could cause a partial or complete loss of air bags, antilock brakes, electronic stability control and the instrument panel. The loss of functionality of these systems can increase the risk of a crash and/or the risk of injury during a crash. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ram's parent company, is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the ignition-switch contact holder block free of charge.
What Owners Should Do: FCA did not provide an owner identification schedule. For additional information, owners can FCA at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more info.

Ram needs to stop copying gm's tech.
Seems like there was another recall for the exact same issue? This is what happens with global supply chains. If a manufacturer screws up it affects a lot of other manufactures.
At least put the proper picture. Currently it's the piece of crap promaster city
That pro master should be recalled back to turkey where it came from.

LOL. Both models are butt ugly. Has anyone seen the full sized one? I have seen a few and that rear axle is just asking for trouble. They use small tires and to achieve some suspension travel they have to drop the axle down where it is in line of sidewall. There is maybe 5 or 6 inches of clearance between the axle and ground.
Sorry Fiat copied GMs ignition switch.
Glad Fiat didn't copy GM's attempts to avoid fixing it.
Hope Fiat doesn't copy GM's inability to track/fix each one that needs it just once.
The two bailout babies have something else in common now.
Clint, with Fiat and GM both hiding and falsifying information like failure rates, death and injuries and then getting caught I'm sure every manufacture is looking at their skeletons in the closet and making thing right. 2015 will be marked as the recall year.

Admittedly, Ford is the leader in that respect.

Nice attempt their skippy. Not sure if bringing up an article when you were 55 16 years ago is really relevant to something that had occurred just months ago with other automanufactures. But it is what it is. You do deserve credit for trying so hard and spending so much of your life trying get to find old (well at least to me) news articles trying to make a point. Maybe you can now find an article from 1980.....................and go!
I have a Ram Promaster City Wagon SLT.Some thinks it's butt ugly, some don't,who cares. It's a great little van and I enjoy the hell out of driving it.So it has a recall, what oem doesn't.It serves my purpose very well, and gets damn good mpg's for what it is.It's a hell of a lot better than my first new van, which I bought back in 1974,a Dodge B100.And the B100 was an excellent work van back in the day.
