2016 Chevrolet Silverado to Get Realtree Special Edition
In the never-ending battle of one-upsmanship in the half-ton pickup segment, Chevrolet fired a return salvo at the Ram 1500 Mossy Oak in the form of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Realtree Edition. A purveyor of camouflage equipment for the hunting enthusiast, Realtree has partnered with Chevrolet to debut the new pickup package at the 2016 Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas.
Available on LTZ Z71 crew-cab 4x4s, the Realtree Edition will offer special blackout trim pieces, black bow ties on the grille and tailgate, 20-inch blackout wheels, off-road sidesteps and the Realtree logo on each of the front-seat headrests. More Realtree logos and camouflage graphics will adorn the exterior of the truck.
"Working with the team at Chevrolet on this new Realtree Edition Silverado really brought home to me just how important the right truck is for outdoor enthusiasts," said Bill Jordan, Realtree designer and president, in a statement. "You just don't realize how much goes into building a true performance vehicle until you look behind the scenes. The men and women at Chevy truly delivered on this project. This truck has the perfect combination of features, comfort and safety — whether you're driving around town, on the highway or off-road."
The Realtree Special Edition will go on sale in the spring. Check with your local dealer for ordering details. Although pricing has not been announced, we expect this package to be similarly priced to other special editions Chevy has recently released, with prices likely between $900 and $1,400 extra for the premium look and additional features.

P.T. Barnum , need I say more.
WTF?
I see guys who camo wrap their trucks in vinyl or run camo along the lower rockers but this?
All you need now is a "gun" stick family in the back window and "molon Labe" in foot tall letters to complete the package.
Oh and add a ton of rust and a pit bull chained in the back.
I've seen that stupidity in Canada of all places.
Oh, I do like the monochromatic look. The stickers kill it.
This is the Chevrolet Midnight Edition with RealTree trim.

Don't like it.
It's a pity the images could of not been better. Had a quick look at the link for Realtree.
Hmmm ...................
Why the need for so many special edition trucks? Oh wait, can't sell any trucks, how about $10K off any Silverado NOW at your local dealer.
This is garbage, BARF!!

I've bought some Realtree products before, not sure they were so great I'd put their logo all over my truck though, let alone pay $1000 to do so.
Did they cure cancer or something?
I like it and Bill Jordan is a class act, good job Chevy.
@ Frank get a life bud, who cares if you don't like it.
Another GM Fail.....yuk!
Stick a sticker on the side, call it "Special Edition" and charge the fan boys more for it. Nice formula.
this could quite possibly be the ugliest truck I've ever seen in my life. regardless of the real tree package, GM ruined an already ugly and horrible front end in 2016. seriously, who thinks this looks good?

go home, GM, you're drunk.
Ford kids running their pie holes like normal, but its Ram and GM people that always start it they say. Fkn retards!
The Realtree Edition vs The MossyOat Edition. An the Chevy & Fiat truck boys make fun of Ford boys saying Military Grade Aluminum.
Awww what's wrong johnny dildoe, can't take a Man's opinion yet you boast your garbage.
You're such a loser, go cry to your Mom.
Frank and Lou BC
Maybe you guys should only read the articles about fords. because if it's not a ford it's all crap, according to you guys.!
I happen to like it.
Lou BC is one of the only guys on here that drives a Ford you can trust. The others are big cry babies.
If you can't take a Man's opinion, you don't belong here.
If you can't take a Man's opinion, you don't belong here.
J.D. I wouldnt go that far. He's drunk on the Kool aid,
@GM no one wants this special edition. How about make the 8spd standard across the line up, including the full sized SUV. Cannot believe we shopped for a new suburban and it only comes with the old, slow, 6spd for $65k.
See told yah, look at them cry, retards I swear.

Yup your right. A lot of crying here already. LMAO!
Not a big fan of the stickers on the truck but all black does look nice. Big fan of a solid colored truck. Black does look good all shined up too.
@Johnnie Doe - thanks. I'b buy a Chev or Ford without much hesitation.
I'd consider Tundra if they made a 6.5 box crew.
I'll wait and see on the new Titan.
Ram - nope.
Not until durability has been reported to be high for a few years in a row.
Remember when special trucks were more than stickers and paint? Western sports special, lil red express, ram srt, lighting, SS, syclone. Now we get paint, usually black, and stickers
Posted by: roadram | Jan 19, 2016 5:57:49 PM
I do. Real man trucks for sure. I still miss my 03 Lightning. But I was getting to the point where I needed to upgrade the rods and pistons to reliably make more power. The Syclones and Typhons were some wicked little trucks. Still are. I believe they are still bringing in good money today. Same as the grand national. The late model Silverado SS was a disappointment though. They were all wheel drive which was nice with a 6.0L but they just were not fast. I believe the Trailblazer SS was considerably quicker though. The SRT Jeeps are stupid quick for an SUV.
@Lou_BC,
RAM/Dodge has good trucks, it lacks durability you say .. the Recalls were not for every RAM truck they made.. small percentage of them that were recalled would actually have the problem..
Funny,6 or so years ago Ford's were the most recalled, then Toyota's, GM etc. Funny with Toyota people thought, oh Toyota cares they will fix the problem they recall it not like Ford etc... Funny Toyota has less durable trucks, Ford has issues and GM also..GM has bad rear diffs as per Toyota..
I will never be suckered into a Ford again, the plug/head issue cost me lots of money .. Toyota,Renault-Nissan never would own them..
Here in BC RAM trucks are everywhere, you should know that ,especially on the Coast .. And Canada Chrysler is the best selling AutoMaker !! As a Canadian you should know that..
RAM trucks and durable..my 2011 never failed me in 160,000 miles or 257,000 km..(idiotic Trudeau#1 ruined Canada by going metric and now its going to be ShariaCanada with dolt son)
Our company has had GM/Ford and Dodge RAM trucks and to be honest each has their own issues, but RAM trucks are not unreliable our fleet never failed they always run..
Funny, Chrysler suffers from perception of un-durable vehicles, but reality they are durable .. I have a big family, cousins ect...We are all around 25-40 a whole pack of us and Toyota/Honda owners have bigger problems then minor problems with Chrysler products, being the "mechanic" I am asked to help them all the time, and I do..Doesnt help I have a large shop to work on my own classic and newer rides..So Inhelp them out...Toyota has the worst minivans by far ! Honda cars are not that good, need costly repairs past 70,000 miles...
GM,never will own one because of on star, they spy on you..I was doing a call in the Companies new base model GMC 2500 no frills truck, the onstar comes on and says hey guys, how are you ? You know your left rear tire is 3 pounds low and you need an oil change in 1200 !!! WTF !!! I looked over at my co-worker...Now we never talk in a GM truck...They commented on something we were saying ! Big brother go away ! 2012 was the companies last new GM,we order Ford and RAM trucks only now,no GM ! Even onstar off they still spy on you.
So,my undurable RAM has 257..my Wifes undurable 202,000 Charger 5.7 runs like new,my cousins 2002 Caravan 3.3 with a whopping 360k runs like new I just put a new a/c compressor on this past Saturday...Did a transmission on my Aunts 78,000k 2004 Accord the other weekend..So...Undurable RAM,think not..My Ford was undurable,as the sparkplug head issue nailed me at the plug change after warranty ran out,Ford did nothing..plus it had bottom end rod knock from new,Ford said it is normal..hmmmm Sucker once for me,no more Ford.
OOOOOOOOO YAAAAAAAA!
NO GUTS!
NO GLORY!
Seems very strange here. The Fat Girl From Oz has not brought up the aluminum F150, no one has copied my name and post tro))lllllllling garbage, GMSNOTSOGREAT hasn't brought up Ford yet. The only normalcy was the welfare boy johnny welfare doe with his Obama phone.
Raptor & Warrior, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JbPmIWE06I
Yup!, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Evsjbkp_U0
wow GM really 900-1400 for that crap lol mean while a new Nissan Cummins Light Duty Diesel hits the market
Give me something to get excited over GM !!!!!!!!

The Realtree Edition and The MossyOat Edition represent outdoor living, hunting , you know, manly things to do. Military Grade is more in line with the tooth fairy.
Military Grade "Aluminum" is more in line with the tooth fairy.
I can still see you in the trees GM. No problem.
What happened when they smashed a steel f 150 into an aluminum one?
Power Wagon, 6x6,

HemiV8,
You end up with a aluminium trayback Great Wall ute!
For people who like to pretend they hunt.
Got the photos now???
GM should be ashamed of themselves for producing such a halfass looking product.
I think GM should build a real special edition, not these re-stickered products with wheel changes, suspension mods, etc.
These types of products prove there is room for more competition in the US pickup market.
The same pickups with different stickers.
WTF?
To me it looks fine... Would I pay for it, probably not, but that's what's cool about a free market... You have the option... A lot of complaints about being given the choice...

To a very small extent. I'm sure the closest thing you do outside is going to get your paper. Outdoor living is hunting but sitting in a tree for a few hrs a day does not cut it. Visiting our countries national forest and spending days hiking them yes. Wake boarding, skiing yes. Down hill snow skiing and snow boarding yes. However I have to admit I need a lot more practice on a snow board. You want outdoor living, visit kauai and take the trail to the north shore. Then you will know many and outdoor living. I guess you can represent outdoor living or do out door living. I prefer doing it.
@ LOU, did you have actual experience on the reliability or are you waiting for a magazine to say they are good? Just a question, I would buy ford(current vehicle) chevy(only in 3/4t and up) or Ram in heartbeat, have owned them all, last truck was an 09 Ram, one of my favorite trucks I ever owned, the point is, I only go by experience, not what an article says
Chevy goes back to Pepboys aisle 5 for another "special" edition...
Deep in the government funded labs of Chevy... "I know lets take a black truck put black wheels on it and get some stickers, lots of stickers... O WOW LOOK CAMO STICKERS!!! Add a grandish to the sticker. Good job guys bailout #2 averted."
Another "masterpiece".
YAWN
Didn't Chevy do that last week?
O that's right different stickers this time.
Hey frwank, all you have to do is look at any dealer, an see the generous discount your local Chevy dealer is giving these days on the 1500, my local dealers are advertising up to $13K off!
I would have thought this would have been at the ATA show last week (archery trade association) instead of at the shot show, My Camo on my truck cost $100, and took an hour to put on.....
Haha, all the Ford fan girls are now beginning to realize that GM sells more trucks than ford. Companies prefer aligning with a winner. Hell , even Harley dropped their association with Ford. In fact, that happened right around the time Ford announced the aluminum truck was in the works. Good move on Harleys part, they know how twisted ford marketing can be.

I mean seriously are you just stupid or don't look anything up before spewing your GMfanbots garbage. It took about 4 seconds for me to Google this article where it says Ford dropped that line because of low sales volume. I don't see anything about harley dropping Ford or anything negative. Just Ford has different plans for premium trim levels.

@Nitro - valid question. I go both by personal experience and durability data. I haven't owned a Ram but I know enough people who have had them and have had poor experiences. If one were to look at it just from people I know, there are some that have had negative experiences with Ford and GM and won't go back but there are a large number of people I know that won't go back to any FCA product.
PortKellsBC???
Didn’t want to say you live in Surrey?
Must be fun with all of those East Indian neighbours?
Odd, NEVER seen your blog name around here EVER.
But your rants do sound familiar.
Statistically F150 was the most reliable truck (other than the Tundra) from around 2008-2010 so that kills your theory. BTW I have never had a recall on my 2010 truck. I’ve only known 1 guy with a plug problem with Ford.
If one looks at recall volume then yes Ford, GM, and Toyota by volume have had more vehicles recalled BUT one must remember that they sell MORE vehicles.
Recalls per unit sold tells an entirely different story. FCA/Chrysler sits at the top of the heap in that category. GM's ignition fiasco may change that fact.
My neighbour is a retired HD mechanic. Strange……. He says the opposite to what you say.
My brother had a few Ram 2500’s try to kill him. He had one manual transmission experience a driveline sensor failure while shifting gears at 40 mph. The confused ECM shut the engine off. He did a few 360’s and fortunately didn’t wreck the truck. It happened a few other times but he was more careful until he got one with an auto trans. The auto trans 2500 HD’s he had would pop out of gear when he hit a bad hole. It happened on a few occasions when I was with him. My friend who is a conservation officer had the same complaint. So did a few other guys I know. That would be more towards the first generation of Dodge Ram.
Here is another anecdotal story (anecdotal means from personal experience. Your spelling indicates that you might not know what that means). A colleague was saying that since her husband loves manual transmission trucks he always buys Dodge er Ram.
They both are done with them.
They say each successive one is a bigger POS than the previous one. The last straw was multiple electrical gremlins. Door locks, windows, and even the neutral safety lockout to prevent an in-gear start. The truck was getting repaired (AGAIN) and guess what? The mechanic was working on it and it self started and drove itself into a tool bench in the shop. Odd since the technician was working on the door.
I know a construction supervisor who gets a rather generous vehicle allowance. He buys new every 2 years. 2 Ram HD diesels in a row that were POS. One was constant front end problems, the other was emissions and fuel injection system problems.
My wife had a Grand Caravan. It was in the shop 3-4 times a year. The lifters failed almost when the warranty came off. Multiple electrical failures and on and on.
“Undurable” talk about an awkward word.
“Here in BC RAM trucks are everywhere, you should know that ,especially on the Coast .. And Canada Chrysler is the best selling AutoMaker !! As a Canadian you should know that.”
Funny you mention that – my local dealer will finance anyone. They got busted for misleading advertising and sales tactics. The Sales manager got fired and the Principal and company “parted ways under mutually acceptable terms”. (Legal speak for you let me leave quietly and I will not drag the rest of your organization down with me.)
"idiotic Trudeau#1 ruined Canada by going metric and now its going to be ShariaCanada with dolt son)"
We went from trucks to politics…… wow……… don’t hurt yourself trying to sound intelligent.
Ruined Canada by going metric…….
WTF?
Do the American car companies post engine size and tire ratings in "customary" units or metric?
Oh by the way, there are only two….. count them…. 2 countries left on the planet that aren't metric. That would be USA and Burma.
No one is stopping you from moving to either one…………… well…………….. other than maybe your “undurable” Ram truck.
It has been real fun talking at you.
