2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Video

Raptor 4 II

We got our first chance to see the SuperCrew version of the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and it did not disappoint. It sports a longer wheelbase and four full-size doors. We also found out more details about the new EcoBoost engine and Ford's 10-speed transmission.

Although we don't have exact details about the engine's power ratings, it will likely be right on top of GM's powerful 6.2-liter V-8, meaning more than 420 horsepower and 460 pounds-feet of torque. And expect fuel economy to get better because the transmission has built-in stop-start capability. We should be able to get behind the wheel sometime in the fall.

Titan warrior wins in looks.

Not a chance!

Beautiful with Military Grade Aluminum. It just doesn't get any better than that.

Didn't GM and Ford go in on the 10 speed together years ago? If Ford is about to release it, I wonder what GM has planned.

I am trying to buy a military grade aluminium for my next project, but I can't find any. Could someone help me please and point me to some web site where I can get military grade aluminium extrusions and sheets ?
Thank you in advance.

You could go to the source that Ford uses for their aluminum. Alcoa seems to know a thing or 2 about aluminum.

Thank you LMAO.
I called ALCOA, that I want to buy a military grade aluminium and they asked me which one. The Alcoa’s ArmX® 5456-H151 for armor plates or military grade aluminium for trays, like ford is using. What would you suggest please?

I would let Alcoa make that decision. Since they are the manufactures of the aluminum they would be the best source of what you are looking for.

RAM - I suggest the aluminized baking powder...oh natures call again...sorry got to go...

Alcoa does not seem to have an issue with this grade of aluminum.

@LMAO
You were right about that. They asked me if I need to glue or press to different shapes that aluminium or not. I said no, I need to weld it and machine it, so they suggested to find less expensive option without extra coating they provide to aluminium for trays to meet ford military grade.

Thanks again .

This truck is awesome!

even though all ford trucks are ugly I could see my boyfriend and I getting busy in the bed of this truck.

I just showed both videos of the Titan and the Raptor to my wife and I asked her opinion on these trucks.

She said the Titan is more rugged and manly looking. The Raptor looked plain, like something a girl would drive. She said the Titan looks like something that should be in a transformer movie.

Show videos to your wives, let's see what there thoughts are.

I agree that the Titan Warrior has taken much wind from the Raptor in the looks department.

The Raptor looks rather plain. Ford might need to do something to spruce it up.

I'm hoping Nissan make the Warrior and PUTC can have a 4 way test. Warrior vs Raptor vs PowerWagon vs TRD Tundra.

I still think the Raptor should come with a diesel and have the suspension retuned so it can carry a large enough load for a weekend outing.

The EcoBoost has some awesome power, but that awesome power is only available using an awesome amount of fuel.

That ain't the half of it Rolling...

Quote from Alcoa President.

"Alcoa Military grade aluminum and armor have been used by the military for decades in vehicles ranging from the Bradley Fighting Vehicle to the Humvee."

Hmmmmmmmm how many licks can I take to get to the center?

420hp and 460 lb/ft torque... There is no evidence to suggest these numbers. These are the numbers for GM's 6.2L... The only significance of that engine in this is that Ford will likely want to beat the GM engine, which is obviously easy because the 5 year old ecoboost made 365hp and 420 lb/ft.
But nevermind the GM engine because it was plainly obvious the new ecoboost would get, not just a modest power bump, but a huge power bump. The same engine was announced to make over 600hp in the new Ford GT months ago. If they downtune the engine to only make 420hp and 460lb/ft then that would be an excessively conservative tuning. The horsepower number probably isn't too far off, but you can bet the torque will be over 460.

ATENTION!!! FORD owners it's getting cold out.

I see a lot of stupid jealous people posting about the Titan being or looking better. That is a concept truck joke that Nissan played you for a fool with. It isn't going to happen. Even if it did, it wouldn't look anything like it and would be a shock/sticker package.

The Raptor here looks just like it should. It is a bad mama jama! Some of you bloggers need to get out of your parent's basement and educate yourself on what a concept and the real world is.

Case closed!

@ W: That ecoboost engine might sound like 420 hp if you turn the stereo loud enough. LOL.

Shout out to the meat lover Johnny doe from the can crusher. Heyyyyy

How sad is this?

Looks like the 2 girls on this site is having some fun. Some very unproductive people for sure.

I guess the good news is the Raptor will actually be produced and GM along with fiat has nothing to offer to challenge it which makes the girls sad.

Vroom, Vroom, V8 silverado, Hemi, Cummins v8.

And yet seems to continue to put the Smack down with less HP and TQ. Hahahahahaha. Just wait till the 3.5L V6 has been cranked up a bit on power. The 6.2 is maxed out.

WAAaa, WAAaa, put, put, cough, silence equtes to breakdown on the side of the road and no accelerator input. Those eco's are blowing up just outside of the warranty period. They are too stressed to offer any longevity.

You try so hard loser gmsnotsogreat. At least you still have ford in your head rent free also. Quite entertaining you small old man. Very funny.

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2015/07/yet-another-c7-corvette-z06-engine-bites-the-dust/

This can't be rignt. It is a V8, it cannot fail

You just mention the words " Military Grade Aluminum" and the Chevy/Fiat truck boys just blow a head gasket. LOL

Two thumbs up, to the Ford advertising guys to come up with that genius slogan. LOL

I just love it.

Remember blue man, the GM girls with the fiat children are used to not being winners. Now we are in the age of participation trophies and they want one now. So they will cry till they get one.

Speaking of blowing a head gasket. Google search, 'ecoboost blown engine' and read the horror stories. Enjoy!

Oh, the Ford advertising team certainly know their clientele. They created a poser truck with a fake term and you hillbilly fan girls suck it up. HaaaaHaaaaHaaa....

If ford spent less money on marketing and more on technology they wouldn't have fell to the #2 spot in truck sales now behind GM. After all not everyone is stupid enough to fall ford marketing tricks. LOL!!!

Ugly looking. And what do you need a 10 speed transmission for? It's getting ridculous!

See the participation trophy kids are showing up as we speak. The sad thing is, is he is pathetic enough to think just using Google proves a point. You can google anything to try and prove a point. What a sad sad boy.

Gmsnotsogreat why again does an engine with 55 less HP and 40 less TQ with a 6 speed transmission and similar weight truck perform the same as a higher HP and TQ truck?

Two different engines, two different torque curves. Choose the one that works best for you. I prefer the sound and vibrations from a V8 over any v6 I have ever driven. They do not perform the same. Don't believe me? Take a 6.2 8speed for a run. Oh yeah,, turn the radio off when you floor it.

GMSRGREAT - My 'mom' is the reason my life is a living hell. She told me some time ago that I shouldn't have been born. My birth was an accident. She said the only reason why she didn't get an abortion was because my grandmother told her that it was terribly unhealthy for a woman to have an abortion on the first pregnancy. Now and then she makes jokes on how she found me in a dumpster or how a rock dropped to the Earth and I was inside it (she's crazy like that). I was unwanted from the beginning. With the life I'm having right now driving a F150, I wish she did have an abortion or gave me up for adoption.

Theses comments should be deleted but this site has no moderators. But then maybe again.

It doesn't help. That sucker ecoboost plays V8 music , even when radio is off. You have to pull the radio fuse to get the real uninspired V6 sound. Well everyone on the street can hear it but driver. LOL.

For the Frod phans; Some cut and pastes and links ............ military what???????? WTF is military grade???

Marketing for the not most well informed, like many of the commenters on PUTC. Read on.

........................................................................................

"The new F-150 weighs 700 pounds less than the previous model, featuring an engine compartment, doors, hood, side panels, truck bed and tailgate all made of aluminum alloys. The way they’re marketing the featured material is by calling it “military-grade aluminum.”

Reddit, I know, but some of the comments are quite good and some inaccurate, like what JP8 is. JP8 is AVTUR, turbine fuel.

https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/2s9m2n/eli5_does_military_grade_actually_have_a_standard/

........................................................................................

When is all said and done, Military Grade is your rank in the Military, nothing to do with aluminium.

Maybe Frod should look into what they are trying to put across to the buying public.

Misinformation? ......... possibly.

See I told you so. You print the words "M.G.A." an the all the Chevy & Fiat BOZO's truck boys come out of the stone age & not the Aluminum Age. The Ford commercial is right on.LOL
