Recall Alert: 2016 Ford F-150

2016 Ford F150 recall

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 3,000 model-year 2016 Ford F-150s built between April 27 and Nov. 22, 2015, at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan. The affected vehicles are equipped with the multicontour seats with the massaging feature.

The Problem: When the massaging feature is turned on, the occupant classification sensor in the passenger seat may improperly identify an adult as a child, turning off the passenger airbag and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will update the occupant classification module software free of charge.

What Owners Should Do: Ford has not yet released an owner identification schedule. Owners can call Ford at 866-436-7332 or enter their vehicle identification number at the Ford recall site.

@Clint
Because ford was just lucky, no one was in accident massaging his back.

More computers=more problems

a Ram guy would dismiss something to "luck"...

Not "lucky" a small silly issue caught quickly that will just as quickly be fixed...

Unlike a massive federally ordered buy back that did cause injuries... you would just call that Fiat being "unlucky" I guess...

You really just guess.

@ RAM - no it's a fact & more to come...

@Ram, I guess my village covers a lot of ground then because like I said, common knowledge everywhere.

@Fed up
No, it's a lie. You didn't say common knowledge everywhere.
It's valid just in your village. Maybe just in your head. I didn't ask your villagers.

@Ram, you just showed me what kind of fella you are.

Maybe a disable passenger air bag is a safety feature when you look at the risks of Takata air bags with exploding shrapnel. It might be enough just to properly use a safety belt. With the Takata air bags I would rather just have a warning label stating that the passenger airbag might not deploy.

Hmmm. I checked the 2016 Chevrolet truck recall list and it is twice as long as Fords. The 2016 Ford truck is the best driving, riding, and pulling (diesels excepted) truck I've ever owned and I have owned trucks for 35 years. Chevy has only just now had a body style worth owning for the last ten years.
