Recall Alert: 2016 Nissan Frontier
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,500 model-year 2016 Nissan Frontier pickup trucks equipped with a V-6 engine and manufactured between Feb. 29 and March 7, 2016
The Problem: The starter motor wire harness may have been installed in an incorrect position, allowing the starter harness terminal to contact the heat shield and result in an electrical short, increasing the risk of a fire.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect and reposition the starter wire harness as necessary for free.
What Owners Should Do: Nissan will begin notifying owners in April. Owners can call the automaker at 800-647-7261, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more info.

WTF!? There were 1500 Frontiers made between Feb. 29th and March 7th!?
Are they sure a couple of zeros were accidentally added to that number?
Sounds about right. They do around 70k a year.
Wow, that had to be difficult to screw-up given the Frontier hasn't changed much since 2004.
ON BEND OVER
They wouldn't have this problem if they were a Mexican manufacturer like Ford!

United Auto Workers (UAW) union has said Ford plans to shift production of the Focus compact and C-Max small gas-electric hybrid from suburban Detroit to Mexico, where the cars can be made cheaper and more profitably.

Yawn...
Small recall, no injuries, no deaths, easily fixed, caught by manufacturer, being dealt with responsibly, no gov involvement...
next story please.
"United Auto Workers (UAW) union has said Ford plans to shift production of the Focus compact and C-Max small gas-electric hybrid from suburban Detroit to Mexico, where the cars can be made cheaper and more profitably."
Shift production from an expensive "3rd world location" to a cheaper one.
Makes sense in the grand scheme of things. LOL
Thanks for the update Mark. One of my coworkers has a 2016 frontier and wasn't aware of the update. I had a 2007 frontier, extended cab, v6 manual 6 speed. Great truck, fun to drive, but it didn't fit carseats so up I went.
