Recall Alert: Nissan NV200, Chevrolet City Express Cargo Vans
By Jennifer Newman
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 5,000 model-year 2013-16 Nissan NV200 cargo vans and 2015-16 Chevrolet City Express cargo vans (GM's rebadged version of the NV200)
The Problem: The front passenger seat's occupation classification system may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty when it's occupied, causing the frontal airbag to be turned off and not deploy in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the OCS electronic control unit free of charge.
What Owners Should Do: A notification schedule has not yet been provided, but Nissan owners will be notified by Nissan and City Express owners will be notified by GM. For more info, owners may call Nissan at 800-867-7669 or Chevrolet at 800-222-1020; they may also call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov.

Good thing if air bags are from Takata
Just like a chevy. Another recall.
GM can't do anything right.
Yup, keep that great generic motors feeling...NOT
with genuine gm junk
GM doesn't make this van, Nissan does. I have seen a few of these mostly used as delivery and service vans This should be an easy fix and has nothing to do with the overall quality of the vehicle. Ford has had a number of recent recalls as well dealing with automatic transmissions that downshift when they should not and bad welds on the rear suspension, which doesn't mean that all Fords are junk. Do you know of very many manufacturers without a defect?
As Lou_BC has stated this defect might be a safety feature if these vans have Takata airbags which most likely they do.
Seems to be a few issues with airbags across multiple vehicle brands. Global market can equal global issues. Least it is getting taken care of.

LMAO is right this isn't "NEWS". The real news is that Ford is recalling 261,890 vehicles in the U.S. for a spate of problems including transmission, suspension, and tire defects, the company.
The largest recall involves 184,000 models of the 2011-2012 Ford F-150, along with the 2012 Expedition, Mustang, and Lincoln Navigator. Output-speed sensors on the 6R80 automatic transmission’s lead frame—the metal connectors joined to a circuit board controlling the transmission—may suddenly force a downshift into first gear. That could cause the rear tires to slide or lock up. The company knows of at least three related accidents
Just to pile on....
During the assembly of certain F-series Super Duty trucks (F-250 and above), a conveyor may have damaged the tire sidewalls, which could rupture while driving.

But it's only 285,000 thousand...you're right again we should expect nothing from Ford so Ford a quarter of a million customers or so doesn't mean that much...lol
The Ford transmission defect
On the ropes after paying out millions to victims of the Pinto debacle, Ford faced another disastrous recall in 1980 after the NHTSA announced after a three-year investigation it found that Ford automatic transmissions built between 1966 and 1980 contained a defect where they could slip from park into reverse, causing them to roll unexpectedly.
After reports by Mother Jones and the Detroit Free Press, it came out that the company had known about the defect since at least 1972, and rejected a design improvement that would have cost $0.03 per car to fix the issue. Instead, the company chose to quietly pay $20 million to victims and their families.
After finding that the defect was the cause of 777 accidents, including 259 injuries and 23 deaths, the NHTSA was on the verge of issuing a 23-million-car recall — a move that would have likely bankrupted Ford. In 1981, company executives pleaded poverty to the Reagan administration, and a compromise was struck: The company would mail out 23 million stickers to Ford owners to put on their dashboards, reminding them to “make sure the gear selector lever is fully engaged in Park,” and to “fully engage the parking brake” before turning the car off.
It was enough for Ford to successfully dodge what would have been the largest recall in history, but it came at a terrible cost. By 1984, it was reported that the official death toll from the dangerous transmissions had risen to 77.
Checy sucks
Ford orgullosa de ser mexicana. Atleast ford has its own type of van not like chevy that has to barrow it from somebody else.

You are right, Ford is really good at building it's own POS.

Ford small vans are made in idiotic Muslim Cult hellhole Country Turkey...
They are European Ford's as all Ford vehicles are today except the F Series trucks, Mustang is a European car, Taurus and Edge are based off a Volvo !
Ford vans are old European vans..Not American Fords, only the F Series trucks are designed ,engineered and built by Americans..Ford cars and vans are imports !
