2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Mint 400 Videos

IMG_4402A II

We had a blast running with the Foutz Motorsports race team in the Best of the Desert Mint 400, getting a front-row seat — actually the third seat in a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCab — to one of the most difficult desert races in the U.S. We split the full race into two teams of three — one driver, one navigator and one journalist. The first two obviously were critical; the third was used mainly for ballast.

Here are three short videos that will give you a closer look at the people, the pickup truck and the race involved in this punishing autosports competition. To read the full story about the race, click here. To read our observations on the new EcoBoost engine and 10-speed transmission in the race Raptor, click here.

@Yuriy,

Thanks for the Video, the Ecoboost sounds uber nice.

This is stupid, to bad the pebble didn't break the China made lower control arm built sooner. It would of made for a lot better video, watching the tire pass the craptor HAHAHA!

Hey where's the Chevy? Not there, it's the first loser, in Baja Truck and Sales.

Yeah Frank no where...here is a short video that will give you a closer look at the people, in this punishing world.

Go Figure....lol

GO Ford..u won't see any crappin chebbies on this kind a track

Not a production based truck, no plates!

My 86 Toyota I raced not only was still registered with plates and insurance, I drove it home after races many times, no trailers needed.

Engine and drivetrain had 120,000 miles on it when I raced it. Just bolt on stuff any average Joe would do at home like front/rear bumpers, most suspension components came from the Downey Off-road catalog, Bilstein shocks, National Springs and we raced.

I never locked in the front manual hubs and ran it in low four most of the race pulling 35's, it was a blast!

I find it amazing that ll the so called Ford haters always read the Ford posts. Must really like Fords deep down inside right kids!

@bill
I have realized the same thing. I usually skip most articles about the tundra cause I'm just not interested in them much of the time. Tundra hasn't offered anything new or exciting in a while. I skip many of the articles about the chevrolet and gmc trucks cause they are just boring to me. These guys that hate ford. Why even bother to read these articles? Get a life!!

There you go Frank, FORD sends out the recall notice to its dead customers. Ford has killed so many people.

It is not that we hate Ford, it is trying to point out the conflict of interest with the owners of this site and Ford advertising!

Somebody is getting paid nicely to cover Ford over all other brands!

Nobody is getting paid, Ford just has more stories. Do you see a Ford ad on this page? I don't f'ken think so.

Go offroad in your Toyota doing 15 mph.

Frank how do you define Military Grade is it...

The recalls impact vehicles here in the United States and also in Canada. For 184,000 of the vehicles in the United States, there is a problem in which the vehicle could shift down to first gear without warning.

Is it....

There are also some Exploders with flaws in their suspension systems and F-Series Super Duty trucks with problems with their tires. With the gear downshifting problem in 2011-2012 Ford F-150 trucks and 2012 Expeditions, Mustangs, and Lincoln Navigators, the issue can cause a vehicle to suddenly slow and then to make things more dangerous the rear tires could lock-up or slide. So far there are three injuries reported related to this problem, but there may be unreported problems and accidents in the United States and Canada.

Is military grade defined like this...

For the suspension problems in 75,364 2014-2015 Exploders, the rear-suspension toe links being improperly welded could cause a breakage of the link while the sports utility vehicle is moving, which could cause an accident.

Or is it defined like this?

There are also some recalls involving air bags that might not deploy even though accident force is enough that they should, as well as some driver’s seat mounting brackets being improperly welded. The vehicles affected by these two recalls include Ford Flex crossover utility vehicles, Ford Taurus sedans, Lincoln MKS sedans, and Mercury Sable sedans from 2007-2012, and 2016 Ford Fusion sedans.

Or is it this?
