Having lost a huge number of fellow soldiers in Viet Nam so long ago, this Day has become a quiet time, with religious services and visits to cemeteries.

But maybe that's the way it should be. We certainly can't get them back...

For years I have been arguing with kids that are drawn to socialism, and they ALWAYS point to western europe and Canada as an example of how socialism can work.

Thanks to the US, socialist Canadians and Euros are living a good life there without spending their fair share on the military. Those days are over.

Most people dont know what socialism, communism etc are and apply the term as a blanket definition for any country that provides Govt administered services rather than privately owned services.
In a word NO Canada is NOT a Socialist country tho Americans like to label it as such.

Canada has a Govt administered health care system however it is NOT free - the only provinces I know of in which individual Cdn citizens dont pay for their health coverage is Ontario and Saskatchewan, tho there could be others.

Canada is a democracy, the political structure is different than the USA in that we have far too many political parties, and IMO an election process that is almost pointless because of that.

Along the same vein most people do not understand the differences between communism, maoism, leninism, socialism, dictatorships etc and label them all as communism, a lot of uneducated people associate socialism with communism etc

Socialism and communism are defined by the distribution of goods and services, if you want a very basic definition, however to understand what all of these really are you need to do some research, which isnt easy because the internet contains masses of misinformation.

So explain to me why we have lost so many freedoms the last 15 years? The military has become part of the problem defending a government that is so vile, corrupt and anti-Liberty, we need to stop flying the flag of obedience and do our duty, what this nation originated from, and that is standing up to authority and demanding a better way!

It matters not whether a war is justified or not when an American military-man is killed in action doing what he is told. Men are still dying in battle combating islam, which in all likelihood is a greater threat than any battle we have fought. In no battle I can think of have so many civilian American lives been lost. We owe our freedom and independence to brave men who fought and gave all. I humbly thank all those souls, as well as those who made it back, and those still serving.
