Judges Narrow List for 2017 North American Truck of the Year

Ridgeline Beauty 1 II

The annual 2017 North American Car & Truck/Utility of the Year Awards have been whittled down to 30 semifinalists in three individually judged categories. Among the pickup truck award candidates are the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor, Ford Super Duty, Honda Ridgeline and Nissan's half-ton Titan. See the full list of contenders below.

The next phase of judging for the U.S. and Canadian automotive journalists is to select the top three from each of these lists, then announce the winners on Jan. 9, 2017, at the first press conferences of the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Although we're a little disappointed the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Ford F-150 with the new, higher horsepwoer 3.5-liter EcoBoost with the 10-speed did not make the list, we're guessing the final battle for the pickups will come down to the Super Duty and Nissan Titan because of how critically important each are for their manufacturers, both offering a wide variety of options and configurations. We'll find out in just a few months.

Specs on Duramax engine released, most powerful engine in the segment. Basically, torqued increased by 150 ft/lbs . Considering Ford can just squeak out a edge over the current Duramax., the next HD challenge will result in a blood bath with Ford struggling to find 35 more software upgrades to compete. LOL

Actually a 5 HP advantage over the current Ford 6.7L and 15lbft less torque than the current Ford 6.7L. I don't see a blood bath at all. In fact you seem to be an absolute moron making claims when the truck is not even out yet. Or even tested. At 30K up the IKE the Ford 6.7L kept a 10 MPH lead on the fiat with the same weight. We will see if the DMAX will compete with that.

Super duty might nab it
the Titan might
both are very worthy contenders
Honda accord with big wheels is not worthy of being called a truck.
Honda just doesn't get it only a stupefied Honda bot would even consider looking at it.
