2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Orders Are on Fire
At a time when the auto industry is bracing for a slowdown in sales and several full-size pickup truck models are likely to finish the year in the red (the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Toyota Tundra), Ford is reporting the all-new 2017 F-150 Raptor is getting more attention than ever.
Based the popularity of the high-performance off-road truck on Ford's online configurator, Ford is expecting good things for the adventure package, possibly putting the new model on a record-setting pace.
"This is the one of the fastest and most popular product launches we've seen in some time. Site traffic volume on the Raptor page is currently more than five times our other performance vehicle lines and dealer demand is far ahead of expectations," said Rob Rosenbach, Ford F-150 brand manager, in a statement.
According to Ford, it recorded 90,000 hits in the first 10 days of the Raptor being available on the configurator site, with 30,000 of those completing the entire build process. Of those complete builds, 91 percent were for SuperCrews, 90 percent included the Luxury Equipment Group ($9,345) and 77 percent were checking the Raptor Technology Package ($1,950). The most popular color by far is the Shadow Black.
Of course, not all of these fantasy builds will turn into sales, but they offer a good indication of how much interest there is for the model. Anecdotally, we've heard about several large Ford dealerships reporting strong customer interest for the new 10-speed Raptor. The 2017 Raptor SuperCab starts at $49,520, while the SuperCrew starts at $52,505 (prices include destination); deliveries are expected to begin in December.

Damn - for less than $50 000 starting price; that is a steal for a one of the baddest trucks ever built with so much capability, revolutionary 10-speed & gobbles of power/torque.
I mean compare that to the POS RAM REBEL for about the same price (forget shaky GM's they got nothing that will come close)...it's a bargain & no brainer!!!

Shadow black is the default colour. If you don't change it and press next then Ford thinks you like shadow black.

I own a black '04 Lightning & normally I was to buy my dream black Raptor 2yrs ago but as it won't fit in my garage & rather than leaving a $120 000 truck in the sun, I purchased a global Ranger instead & very happy with it too.

So another Mall cruiser, grocery getting Raptor, sounds about right. Shouldn't have to worry about broken frames with that type of use. However, if you ever pick one up, stock the truck and your garage with multiple fire extinguishers, your gonna need them.

Should have put the 5.0L V8 in it instead of the ecoboost. More responsive than a turboed motor for a sport truck.

Agreed, you will need 10 grand minimum to deal with the denied warranty claims if you take this vehicle off the pavement.
I put one on preorder. Dealer did tack on a 5K premium but I don't care. Just cut a check for 20% down. I have a 2014 and love it. It's my daily driver and this truck is a ton of fun. the 2017 with the new engine (love the 6.2 still) , upgraded frame, updated suspension and just a whole new truck I can wait. I drove a Ram Rebel and the truck just felt inferior. Even to my old truck. Just no thought with making that truck a "special" truck like Ford has with the Raptor.
The ecoboost may be a powerful engine, but I would rather have a V8. I can't imagine starting this truck up, and hearing what could be mistaken for a Civic with a fart cannon. I say keep the ecoboost but offer a V8 option.
All the haters that talk about an F150 burning to the frame can Yip Yip all they want...the truth is any truck that catches on fire end up being a piece of scrap regardless...warped metal burnt wiring, interior and whatnot is a death warant for any car, truck....Broken frmes are also caused by excess speed and jumps....its a desert racer not a jumper...morons are just uneducated idiots.
