2017 Ford F-250 4x2 Earns Top Safety Rating
Ford's all-new 2017 F-250 two-wheel drive crew-cab pickup truck has earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's top safety rating of five stars overall, an improvement from its model-year 2016 rating of four stars overall. The heavy-duty 4x2 also improved its frontal crash score from four stars for 2016 to five for 2017 and retained its five-star side crash and four-star rollover ratings, making it the only HD pickup to earn NHTSA's highest safety rating, according to Ford.
NHTSA also tested the 2017 F-250 four-wheel-drive crew cab, which didn't fare quite as well. While that version improved its frontal crash score to five stars from four and retained its five-star side crash rating from 2016, it wasn't enough of a boost to capture the five-star overall rating because of its three-star rollover rating, due in large part to it taller stance, retained from 2016.

Ram won, exactly like I predicted.
Congrats RAM.
Proving once again this site is pro-Ford!
How about posting KBB results?
Oh, that's right, no Ford in the top 10!
KBB does safety ratings?
Anything that costs that much should have 5 stars for all impacts tests. The rollover is bit more complicated for trucks/SUVs/4X4s. For rollover there should probably be different standards for 4x4 vs 4x2.
Well for RAM this is certainly NOT the title you wanna hold...

“Most dangerous car in America.”
Back when I hauled a slide in camper on a F250 I wished that they had a Raptor width 250 for stability, especially when hauling high CG loads. It would be interesting to know how much the extra width could do to improve the 4X4 rating.
Excellent job Ford with the new military grade truck!
Does Ford still put that junk TTB on the front of their 2WD Superduties?
Also, I'd like to congratulate the Cadillac DPi-V.R for dominating at Daytona this last weekend. Showing that 2v pushrod V8's are still relevant, no matter how hard Ford tries to run away from pushrod engines.
Wow, that HEMI GUY is the laughing stock of America.
Way to show other Countries how stupid you are.
Thanks Dumbass!

Another Idiot, Ford uses solid axles, you chump.
In addition, TTB Dana 40 is a great axles, real off-roaders use them in the Desert.
@Frank The Ford SD 4x4 uses solid axles, the Ford SD 4x2 uses independent twin I-beam suspension. lol........
@john,
I know, the guy brought up TTB.
Not a bad looking truck but the headlights and grille ruin it for me..It looks very cheap !
Not bashing Ford,its the not as nice looking from the front as Dodge RAM and GM trucks...Just being honest...FYI I own a Ford product,so don't b.s me kids..
I also like to thank FORD for dominating the GTLM at Daytona
Beating V8 Pushrod engines in the Corvette with a V6.
And the FORD GT is truly a thing of Beauty.
@Eric,
The Ford GT is a gas guzzler, the 6 cyl is worse than a 8.4 V-10 in a Dodge Viper !! I like the Ford GT a few years ago and it sounded mean with the V8,not a fan of 4 or 6 cyl engines...FYI I own a Ford product.. not biased..
Remember when racing all cars are pretty equal,its luck,driver and luck !!
FYI : Check my time for the post above yours,we pretty much clicked at the same time I was 2 seconds ahead of you..
@ Dr.Power
FYI . Nobody is buying any one of those cars for gas mileage
and you can't compare a viper or a corvette to a GT not even
in the same ball park.
Ford SD will reign for another 40 years. Ya'll haters just have a case of envy and hopelessness.
@Eric- fueleconomy matters in endurance racing- all but drag racing, really- small, lighter tank, faster refuel, longer between stops... it matters. And as for performance- the top versions of the 'Vette are very much in the same ballpark as the GT
#1 Congrats to the Ford GT for winning 24hrs of Daytona on Weekend.

Sales, cheap fleet sales is all Ford is reigning over. Ford announced its trying to reduce its fleet sales for Retail sales where the money is. Less XLT more King Ranch.
This is just another reason to create more jealousy from the usual anti-Ford nuts on this site...bring it on; the best never rests, dominating full size trucks for over 41 yrs & counting...
I can't wait to have real truck news
I want one of these...in a '17 Raptor though;

Wonder how it would hold up against a Prius ,,,hehehehe
they do look nice though
No top rating from IIHS.
Military Grade = Lowest Bidder
So the Superduty has finally joined the 21st century. Welcome Ford! Just remember, your Powerstroke is about to be decimated by the new Duramax.
Oh yeah like shaky Govt pushrods motors are from 2 centuries ago is anything to brag about when n their butts are kicked by a V6....Hahaha!😎

The GT made a name for itself in the 1960s, and the nameplate returned to Ford for the 2005 and 2006 models. Since then, the vehicle has truly evolved into a supercar, evident by it’s $100,000+ price tag.
The company has made some changes to the third-generation GT, prioritizing handling and track capabilities in their 2017 model. The result? Not only one of Ford’s most impressive cars ever, but perhaps one of the most innovative cars to ever be released. For more information about the 2017 Ford GT Wishlist checkout.
@GMS, " Just remember, your Powerstroke is about to be decimated by the new Duramax. thank you for admitting the current powerstroke is way ahead of the Duramax....
You do realize Cadillac took spots 1 & 2 at the 24 hour Daytona while the best the Ford GT could manage was 5th place, 7 laps behind.
Best Lap time for the Cadillac's 1:36:269
Best Lap time for the GT 1:43:522
Ford FAIL again.
@DB, I can only imagine what DB stands for.......So lets review, Gms 1st ever win at this level in a different class, the FORD GT won its class, there you must work for CNN cuz you sure know how to spin things
@Mr Knowitall
You are correct fuel mileage matters in racing, I wasn't talking
about that and DR.Power doesnt know the gas mileage difference between the viper or the gt. the viper wasnt even
in the 24 hr race at least i didnt see one.
@Mr Knowitall
And no Sir you are Wrong the GT is a true supercar was built
for racing the vette does not even come close to the same
Pedigree!!!!!!!

Finally something we can agree on. Thats why they make the Power Wagon and Hellcat. Now you can order Hellcat engines and put them in what ever you want.

I bet you have fond memories of playing with your barbie Corvette and dolls.
@GMS, F series sales up ALOT for 2017 in Jan, Chevy and GMC down
Here some more info on the 6.2 GM V8 in the Cadillac that came in 1,2 overall at Daytona 24 hr endurance race. The engine block was all buy STOCK! just like to block of every 6.2 on the road today! Sure it had beefed up forged internals, but the heads and block were stock castings! just tweaked a bit!
