2017 Ram 2500/3500 Night Edition Video
Posted by Mark Williams | February 13, 2017
We have to give credit to Ram pickup truck designers for doing such a good job creating interesting and good-looking special editions. And since the special-edition strategy has been working so well for Ram half tons, it makes sense for the truckmaker to apply a few of those packages to its heavy-duty lineup. Ram used the 2017 Chicago Auto Show to introduce the HD version of the Night edition. Here's a video that looks at this special edition's highlights.

Can they just stop with the different editions and actually make the truck better?
I mean, what does it take to put an 8-speed in the truck?
Why can't they get busy reprogramming the tow haul so it doesn't hold it in first gear all the way up the gauntlet? Before the 2017 F250 came out, the 6-4 Hemi was supposed to be the strongest V8 gasser.
But when a Chevy 6.0 can beat you up the Ike gauntlet, people get an idea that that 6.4 Hemi is not so great.
If they would change those two things, they would sell a bunch more trucks.
Of course, like the 1500s, I wish they would allow you to have the 17 inch wheels once you get up to the big horn, instead of making you have the 18-inch wheels that are 33 or 34 inches tall.
It's nice to have more options.
That's a good looking truck. Why can't Ford develope cool looking special edition packages lIke those offered by GM and RAM and covered here on PUTC. Maybe Ford could offer some squared wheel opening special edition packages to make if more cool and tougher looking. They need to do something.

Ford would be going backwards with their products. Don't you worry about Ford, little guy.
You should worry about yourself, Ford, don't care what you think, neither do us all.
Great looking truck! GM should take note on this one, This is how it should look, no square wheel wells.
Ram, then Dodge, ran a very distant 3rd place in truck sales for decades. Then they stepped up and designed/built a good truck. Sales went up significantly. They even beat Chevy for a couple months. But I see Fiat-Ram going backwards from here. All the world is a candy store. Ford and GM have been trick or treating with their updates. But Ram with Color and Sticker Pkgs don't get the job done. Their V8 engines are hardly hanging in there in power or economy, and the V6 engine is one that no one wants. Without a completely new truck, they will lose market share rapidly over the next few years. They have said they have no firm plans for a redesign at this time and are still looking for a buyout.
The only Ram I might be interested in would be a Rebel TRX. Anything less than that is meh..
So much better than the Shaky Chevy tape packages. RAM will exceed Shakrolet sales in the coming months.
Ford must have took a page from the ecodiesel hundreds sick with exhaust fumes.
Quality is job none.

Lipstick & same o'l garbage but they do look nice :-)
Will it be built in the US or be another made-in-Mexico Fiat? https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/13/business/general-motors-mexico-pickups.html
Wait... It's a Night Edition but it's white.
It's too bad all you stupid BIG 3 LOVERS have to be so envious of us Tundra owners. You all know we could mop you all up in one fell swop with NO problem.
TUNDRA-THE BEST of the group!!!
B.H.
These special editions are just more cow bell a la SNL. Next it will be 70's florescent paint for the RAM embossed tailgates. Ridiculous.
I would like to see an 8 or 10 speed transmission. Get rid of the TIPM, just another expensive gadget that is not needed. Reposition the gauges so they are not blocked by the steering wheel, such as a digital bar above where the gauges are now. A bus bar off the battery with an easy way to attach relays hooked up to switches on the dash for add on accessories. Why can't the fuel tank pump be outside the fuel tank for easy maintenance.
Same all junk!! I think gmrjunk and johnny dtho are the same monkeys cause both of them like garbage motors trucks and fiat trucks.

@Riker
we were doing so well.
I have a 2010 Dodge Big Horn 3500 with a 6.7 Cummins that has been nothing but a piece of junk I hope the 2017 better than the 2010 because it 2010 is nothing but junk I will never buy another Dodge
My wife's nephew also bought 2010 Dodge Bighorn 3500 w/6.7 Cummins against my advise of course. Sure enough, he started having problems 1st year (too many to list here) & today sitting in his garage while he's searching for a local mechanic to check it (doesn't want to go back to the dealer as he got screwed too many time....
The rebel is a nice truck nice ride excellent details on the interior but you can.T pass a gas station
My sisters uncles cousin bought a Ford. So many recalls it lived at the dealer. Time off work to take it in and out. Too many problems to list. Finally caught fire at Disneyland and burnt 7 other cars with it. Ford Blows.
