2017 Ford F-450, F-550: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 500 model-year 2017 Ford Super Duty F-450 and F-550 pickup trucks manufactured at the Kentucky Truck Plant between June 6, 2016, and Feb. 21, 2017, and at the Ohio Assembly Plant between Feb. 16, 2016, and Feb. 21, 2017
The Problem: Vehicles may experience a vibration in the driveline at speeds above 75 mph; the vibration could fracture the transmission or driveline components, leading to a loss of power while driving or unintended vehicle movement while the pickup is in Park if the parking brake is not in use. This increases the risk of a crash or injury.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the two-piece driveshaft with a three-piece driveshaft with two carrier bearings at no charge to the customer.
What Owners Should Do: Ford has not announced an owner notification schedule. Owners can contact the automaker at 800-392-3673 or go to www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.

Because quality is job #1!
the gm fans are going to have a field day with this
I remember when ML would post a recall alert then close commenting for the thread. It's good to know about the recall, but is there any benefit to allowing comments on it?
any benefit?
@NoQDRTundra
Benefit? Hell yes! Cars.com did not acquire PUTC for the purpose of giving automakers a free place to put their news. It is a for profit organization.
That said, the clicks matter. Advertisers are comfortable paying more if the clicks are there. Why wouldn't you want to count them?

They might stay quiet since this "Shake" was discovered and it only occurs at very high speeds.
Chevy shake and that crumpled pickup box in the shoot out!

DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. said it will take a $295 million hit to its first-quarter earnings from two recalls in North America announced Wednesday, one involving engines that could catch FIRE! and the other involving a persistent door latch problem.

BBQ ON WHEELS!
LOVE
FORD!
Nothing to worry abou, ford got this, not like shaky thing from Garbage Motors (TRUCKS) a least FORD is recalling it. See Garbage Motors (GM) you need to learn from the master, you should recall the shaky shaky on your garbage trucks.
@CHINGON, the only reason Garbage Motors AKA - Ford is voluntarily recalling there junk is because theres only 500 trucks made. Why don't they recall some of the trucks without brakes , lots of that garbage they made out there. Oh wait, the numbers are to high so they just let the consumer pay for the repairs. Ford- Quality is job None (JUNK)
That didn't take long
Wow, fracturing the transmission or driveline is a pretty serious failure, especially at 75 mile per hour. Usually means debris flying out from underneath the vehicle or, in Fords case, exploding up through the cab floor. Anyways, just goes to show how weak those Fords are. Those shaky Ford's are at it again.
Notice how FORD did not comment on any known accidents or injuries. You know what that means!
Just set the cruise control to 74mph, & problem fix. LOL
You mean Ford could find a fix for their vibration but GM can't, even though GM's has been going on since 2014?haha
So let me get this right. GM has a mass issue of driveline vibration for years and GM remains quiet. Ford discovered an issue in a very small group of trucks that are new and recalls them to be fixed right away. Tell me boys and girls who is looking out for their customers. Clue #1, not GM. Hahahahahaha
@ beautifulFORDS, hey little fella at least ford is doing something about it not like GOVERMENT MOTORS.
shaky shaky Fords are cracking transmissions they shake so bad now HAHAHAHAHA! Just one more of many Trash Motor Company problems. JUNK!
Great job Ford catching this, Johnny, sierra, gms papa, sorry you guys have to defend the twins who allow people to die before fixing a problem.

Agree & good job Ford, quality is Job No.1;
Reason why shaky GOVT motors didn't issue a recall was simply because they didn't care & couldn't resolve the mysterious shake shake...HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Why has Trash Motors recalled all the shaky shaky F150s?.

Ford didn't take in account for the expansion and contracting of metal parts with changes in temperature
They never realized that there beer cans body's expanded and contracted when designing there door latches either.

F550 pickup? Did I miss something?
For some reason the idea of driving an F550 over 75mph concerns me more than the shake does.
Where's all the GM girls. Just gmssucksogreat with one of his alias names. What's the matter girls, upset Ford is fixing their shake while GM sits back and says it's normal? Hahahahahaha

Just bought a 2016 f450 new on the lot last Thursday vibration 65 mph and up its in the dealer now they have balanced the tires changed up the air pressure bAlanced the driveline still have not resolved the problem maybe they need to google it as I did. Reason for buying a new truck is that the air conditioning condencer has a leak on my 2014 silverado which also had a out of round propolsion shaft when it was new gov motors has been telling me since March that the part is on nation wide back order with no date in sight for the part originally I was gonna buy another Government motors oh yeah GM can't get off their butt make anything larger than a 3500 and pick up size I don't want to have to go to the Dodge I hear they have plenty other issues also I guess build your own if you want it done right build the 70s and 60s and 50 stuff back up you like Cuba give up a lot of comfort for reliability
