2017 Ford F-150, Super Duty: Recall Alert

2017 Ford F150
Vehicles Affected:
Approximately 1,500 model-year 2017 Ford F-150 pickup trucks built between Dec. 11 and 16, 2016, at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan; model-year 2017 Ford F-150s built Dec. 8-9, 2016, at the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri; model-year 2017 Ford Super Duty pickups built between Dec. 19, 2016, and Jan. 19 at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville; and model-year 2017 Super Duty pickups built between Dec. 23, 2016, and Jan. 19 at the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake

The Problem: The driver's seatback frame has improperly welded assembly points that may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The Fix: Dealerships will inspect and replace the driver's seatback as necessary free of charge.

What Owners Should Do: Ford has not yet released an owner notification schedule. Owners can call the automaker at 866-436-7332, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.

Great catch, and good job getting this out and taken care of. Unlike GM, shaky motors who likes to cheat on the environment.

Awesome trucks!! Great job, Ford.

Ford fan muppetry to the maximum, yet again.

More ford junk. Probably not fixing the root cause of the problem, just the cheapest fix.

@trucky048, nobody knows who you are, so we dont know what you are talking about.

Ford fangirls were getting excited for a bit, thinking Ford had developed an ejection seat. LOL! Nitro, Redbloodedxy, i'm sure Ford will continue to muck up for the next 100 years.

Good job ford for catching that one up not like Garbage Motors cheating on their garbage trucks now they have to pay the consequences. Go Ford!!!

Not even a year into production and already 5 or 6 recalls now on the new Superduty line-up. GOOD job Ford???

GMSRGREAT: You are delirious from being shaken half to death by your truck. Seek medical help...

There is so much shake in that truck that his brain rattled loose.

What a piece of sh**. Ford junk. I wouldn't be surprised if all their seats are defective.

Recalls are more and more common on all trucks now that quality control is no longer, and cheap parts are being made. I wouldn't laugh at the Ford guys, the big three are using parts from some of the same sources and manufacturers.
Next Ford will be in the headlines for emission"cheating" as it uses the same bosch programing found in the GM Duramax full size trucks. I think all diesels are already so clean burning it isn't an issue.

Trash Motor Company AKA Ford owners shake in their high heels in fear of their seatback not restrainING them in a crash HAHAHAHAHAHA

Looks like Ford is has taken a page out of FCA playbook.

Ford:

Flawed or recalled daily

Great job Ford for catching it/fixing it - unlike shaky GOVT motors & Fiat trucks who try to hide it until they get busted...

I agree. It's gotten to the point of insanity. It's pretty obvious that the EPA is hellbent on eliminating all diesel vehicles. And with their insane emissions requirements, the blood sucking lawyers are taking advantage of these new requirements and are milking them for all they can. The law firm that just filed the class action lawsuit against GM previous filed similar class action lawsuits against VW, Mercedes Benz, and Chrysler over diesel emissions. There's no doubt, Ford can expect a similar lawsuit next.

Most likely an outside contractor builds the seats, or at least the frame. Just a thought.

Oh and all you gm and chevy owners don't have problems? Like to see you design one? Ahh what do you's know!! You drive a government saved truck, they should have closed the doors. You can't make it on your own! Shouldn't be in buisness!!! Us tax payers had to bail them out!!!

Thank you for your tax dollars.

@GMS, so sorry you need to constantly defend this lack luster company, I see you are realizing they are going down hill, no bail outs this time, let them fail.

GM would have launched 5 or 6 internal investigations and found nothing wrong. You might die, but hey, the general said everything is okay. Big difference in company policy there.
