New Ram Ad Salutes Veterans
Posted by Brian Wong | May 20, 2017
It's Armed Forces Day today and Ram is debuting a new ad that pays tributes to veterans.
Shot at the aircraft boneyard at the Mojave Air & Space Port in the California, "Airplane Rescue" features one of five World War II-era Grumman F6F Hellcats that are still airworthy. The star of the commercial is a WWII veteran, 89-year-old Art Frankel who enlisted in the Army Air Corps when he was 18 and was a topographical drafter during war.
Part of Ram's "Long Live" ad campaign, "Airplane Rescue" will debut on NBC during coverage of today's 142nd Preakness Stakes horse race — or you can take a peep at it below.

Because when you're owned by the Italians, headquartered in England and build your trucks in Mexico, you support America.
If you cannot update your trucks, just live off the we're American so buy from us myth.
They also lie their butts off at the end of every commercial now about being the longest lasting. This is really annoying.

The Ram 2500 beat the Ford F-250 head-to-head in a number of real-world demonstrations of maneuverability, including the turning radius challenge, the trailer tow challenge, the obstacle challenge and the parking challenge. The Ram 2500 is the Most Maneuverable Heavy-Duty Pickup, from the lineup of America's Longest Lasting Pickups. RamTrucks.com
Ram for life . Sorry ford lovers you shouldn't of settled .
GUTS. GLORY. RAM.
Don,
Many cars, trucks and SUVs are built all over the world. Get over it. And also, the majority of Ram trucks rare and have been built at the Warren Truck Plant in Michigan. Know your facts before stating something that makes you seem ill informed
Actually Ram makes a lot of trucks in Mexico, all of their HD trucks are built in Mexico and all of their RC half tons are bilt in Mexico. Fiat-Ram trots out the Buy American and support Veterans card but we know what the truth is.
These are terrible commercials. They are sending a terrible message! Go buy trucks you don't need with money you don't have! And go deeper and deeper into debt with Ram. It's Arms Forces day!
All hd rams come from mexico from a company that is headquartered in england or wherever in europe... FCA is the last company that needs to be beating the american drum.... toyota is more american then ram
Hey Guys - - -
I am a Ram fan from way back (historical reasons), but I must say I don't quite know how Ram got this "longest lasting pickups" thing.
Are they really using registration data, as I was told?
How does that jive with the Forbes article that found, ---from 12,000,000 trucks --- HD models for Ford, Chevy, and GM were longest lasting? See link:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/jimgorzelany/2016/02/15/the-longest-lasting-used-trucks-and-suvs/#7b83018a52c7
Does anyone have an explanation for the discrepancy?
========================
Oh boy.
Fiat makes 65K trucks in Mexico for guys that make 40K a year... Happy to finance out to 84 months. Fiat isn't the only one doing this but its a hell of a way to recognize Veterans.
It is marketing and some of it is good marketing and they all do it... and they all make stuff in factories outside of the US, and they all have gone insane with pricing and features and they are all happy to finance forever, this is only just slightly more ironic coming from the Italian/English member of what was the big 3.
I am also sick and tired of hearing Ram is longest lasting. They are not. Read the fine print and *. Somebody in media like PUTC needs to call Ram out on this lie.
Here is the quoted source of "Longest Lasting" from the Ram website (RamTrucks.com):
"+Based on IHS Automotive VIO registration data for all brands of GVW 1-3 pickup trucks continuously sold in the U.S. since 1988, Dodge and Ram have the highest overall percentage still on the road."
But there is/are no specific reference website source or sources listed. Would like to see more of how they got the data. Like WHAT "IHS Automotive VIO" source? Give me a direct, specific (not general) reference, Ram please. Guess being suspicious is just part of my nature... (^_^)...

I went over this before. "Continuously" sold since "1988" means no Silverado ('99) and not Super Duty ('99). So if you don't include the Chevy Silverado and the Ford Super Duty, apparently you can cobble together enough Ram trucks for Ram to be the longest lasting.
This is rediculous, fiat is the least American brand. It you want real American, buy GM. The true American brand. Not fiat junk.
I love my Hemi powered Ram. You haters keep on hating.
It's not even a real hemi gumjabber. It is a sticker. Those engines can barely compete with the mighty 5.3L. Not even in the same league as the GM 6.2L power house.
LOL! Weaksauce 5.3! Sorry, you lose.
Also, I don't really care if it's a real "hemi" I know the performance. I drove the 5.3 and it's offset steering column.
the Hemi and the 8 speed tranny blow GM's offering out of the water. As far as their 6.2, I don't care, I am not in the market for a HD pickup.
@ gomjabber
You need to take look the 5.3 beats your beloved gemi!!
http://special-reports.pickuptrucks.com/texas-truck-showdown-2016-max-towing.html
And the 6.2 destroys it!!
Mad max, you beat me to it. That Fiat V8 is junk. Slower and crappy fuel economy compared to GMs smaller engine. Even worse it cannot compete with Fords V8 . How sad is that.
Again, the 6.2 isn't a consideration for me.
The 5.3 is weak, sorry, I don't care what PUTC says.
It's not a gemi.
fuel economy is for you guys making $20 an hour.
not an issue for me.
You losers can read all of the crap you want.
When you can afford to get out of your Chevy S10 pickups and drive the big boy trucks you might learn something
RAM like his 4.3 V6 in his 1992 S10.
Goodnight girls, make sure you park your rusty S10s in the barn tonight.
Again, the 6.2 isn't a consideration for me.

Good thing it's not a gemi or hemi because the 5.3 then be slower and use more gas.
Then a fool and his money soon part! Lol
Gemi is what it is cuz it is a gem alright!!
As far as their 6.2, I don't care, I am not in the market for a HD pickup.

6.2 isn't offered in the GM HD truck line. Only available in the 1/2 ton model.
You guys have learning disabilities? My god you sound like idiots.
Make sure you pour some more bondo on the floorboard of your S10 tonight.
Ok fine, they offer the lump 6.2 in the half ton.
You saying the Ram 5.7 should out perform it?
Go get in your rusty S10, park under the bridge, go to sleep.
Awe somebody's feelings are hurt take your gemi it's home; to the junk yard! lol
Even a rusty old S10 with a 4.3L would outperform a ram. Throw a bag of groceries in the back seat of a ram and it's overloaded. Weak engine with weak springs and loves gasoline, Ram.
Gutless
Powerless
Gory victims in the seats after an accident

Hey RAM, when your shift at Taco Bell is over tonight and you pickup your fat, ugly, pimple face boyfriend, enjoy your night in your rust S10.
:)
MadMax, RAM is coming to pick you up when your shift is done.
Good night kiddies. Hope your Dads Rusty S10 gets you home from Taco Bell.

Who said anything about me picking you up tonight?
I forget, you are walking as usual
Taco Bell barely covers your Meth.
I'm an engineer, you sound like a Kentucky fried chicken worker.
It explains why you drive a ram. They will finance you for 10 years so you can make the payments making minimum wage.
Way to go Ram. Would never buy a Ford.

John, what were you trying to prove? That F150 did exactly what it should. The cabin space stayed in tact and the people lived. Who cares if there is sharp metal poking out! THEY ROLLED DOWN A MOUNTAIN!!!! They Chevy caved into the seats.
that was a hilarious video! They guy is ripping on sharp edges of aluminum on a largely intact cab. He steps over to the chevy and starts touting it as the back seat head rests are exposed! LOL!
I have never seen anything that dumb, well, next to that idiot above claiming to be an engineer. Maybe a taco engineer, is that what they call them at Taco Bell?
Here you go RAM, on your Taco Engineering salary you can probably swing this with a 80 month loan. I am sure it will "smoke' my Hemi! LOL!

Your said, "I went over this before. "Continuously" sold since "1988" means no Silverado ('99) and not Super Duty ('99). So if you don't include the Chevy Silverado and the Ford Super Duty, apparently you can cobble together enough Ram trucks for Ram to be the longest lasting."
I must have missed your analysis the 1st time around...
Thank you for your discovering the key word that escaped me:
"Continuously". That explains everything.
(Actually, the Ram people even got that word wrong, too. "Continuously" means uninterrupted in space; "Continually" means uninterrupted in time. The latter was the intent.)
Why don't we simply look at the PERCENT (%) of pickup trucks from all 3 American manufacturers, in 1/2 and 3/4 ton models, that were made and are still on the road (still registered) in the past fifteen (15) years. That would mean 2002 to 2017, and it should include all current model names, right?
So, how do we get that data?

Veteran's Day is in November!
My gosh people, wake up!
Funny PUTC isn't covering anything important like the latest news of FCA presenting the ED as ready for EPA certification.
Instead, they present a tv commercial. PUTC jumped the shark some time ago.
No more Ram just dumped my 14 Longhorn, my 03 was way better. Let's see bought 17 Challenger, dealer treated me wrong. Challenger, Charger, and 300 built in Canada. Non American sad I now am no MO mopar!
Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra assembled in U.S.A. Screw the "DODGE BROTHERS" Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition where is Ram suv? Built in Mexico and not sold here just pathetic Durango so why do police and feds use Tahoes.......F.C.A. = F__ked Consumers Again.
The Rams are the longest lasting junk that are still left in the auto junkyards sine 1988.
