Which Pickups Have the Highest Torque Ratings?

Ford Super Duty Diesel II

In the name of knowing which pickup trucks have the strongest-pulling engines, we collected the factory torque ratings for the top 16 full-size pickups and threw in a bonus torquey mid-size pickup.

Our list includes five Fords, four Rams and three GMs, excluding the mid-size pickup. This should give you a pretty good idea where and how the torque wars are being fought.

Robert... I had a 2.7 ecoboost for a day. It does NOT have neck snapping torque.

HAHAHA!!!...Ford mopping the floor with all other truck brands;
5 spots with 5 different engines in 5 different models.............

Now that's what I call Trumping the competition!!! :-))

F-150 2.7 twin turbo in last place. HAHAHA!!!

Rumor has it the new Ford 3.0L Powerstroke for the F150 is supposed to be the torque king in the F150 lineup when it makes its appearance. Mind you it won't be a horsepower powerhouse because of the displacement but when it comes to towing its all about the torque.

The 6.0 vortex has 380lb-ft of torque. I guess putc wanted to get the 5th Ford 2.7l on the list.

Good catch. See if PUTC will acknowledge it.

Also, for those who do a lot of dyno testing, it can be very tricky getting a comparable torque curve through the rpm range with so many different turbos, transmissions, and software variables. But if anyone has any suggestions or information about how to better compare apples to apples, let us know.

Not to mention the how to properly supply air to the DMAX's new hood scoop so it can obtain it's full max torque potential. One thing for sure, the DMAX domination up the Davis Dam was enhanced with the new ram air hood design.

If PUTC would recognize the 17 year old design GM 6.0 liter 380 ft/lbs torque, then that would knock the new 2.7 liter eco off the existing list. HAHAHA!!!

The little 2.8L Duramax 4 cylinder is amazing, 369 ft/lbs @ 2000 rpm. And gets over 30 mpg, nice.

remenber gm didn't not upgrade again the new engine ,like ford did the first years 4time ,,so just imagine the capacity of the new gm diesel,,,

While the 2.7 ecoboost isn't on this list, everyone that owns it claims neck snapping torque from it.
Above is from Robert.

Robert you need to look at the list again. 16 is the 2.7

Yeh, I know what you mean, that Ecoboost just doesn't do it for me either.
