2014 Ford F-150: Recall Alert

14F150_STX II

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 60,000 model-year 2014 Ford F-150 pickup trucks manufactured between May 9 and June 15, 2014, at both the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan and the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri

The Problem: If a seat, seatback or seat-belt anchor attaching bolt fractures, the structural integrity of the seat may be compromised in a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of an injury.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected seat, seatback, seat-belt or seat-belt buckle attaching bolts for free.

What Owners Should Do: Ford has not yet released an owner-notification schedule. Owners also can call the automaker at 866-436-7332, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.

Another Ford recall, I but it's really hard for Mark Williams and this site to post these Ford recalls

Great job for this Ford, do not be like GM and let things go, then bad things happen.....remember the ignition fiasco GM fans? This is why Ford is number 1.

You can't make this stuff up. Ford is no. 1... AT RECALLS

Ford is actually #1 at forced recalls by the NHTSA.

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2016/11/best-worst-automaker-recall-rates/

this is no big deal.

the big deal is Ford's lousy Q2 2017 report.

Almost all of the good news was related to a hopeful anticipation that Ford's tax rate will be cut to 15 percent. If that doesn't stick, they're in trouble.

Ford was almost a billion dollars short of revenue estimates--expected revenue was 38B, actual number was 37.1

Seat brackets? No biggie.

Ford Motor Co (
) on Wednesday joined rival General Motors Co (

) in reporting higher-than-expected second-quarter profits, and in the next breath warning of a rougher ride for the rest of the year.

Ford said full-year pre-tax profit, automotive operating margins and cash flow would be lower than 2016 results, sending the company's shares down 1.8 per cent in mid-day New York trading.

Rival GM on Tuesday reported headline profits that beat analysts' estimates, but warned that profits for the second half of the year will likely be lower than the first half, as the company scales back scale back North American production to cut its burgeoning inventories.

Brackets?

This week's key issue is GM's inventory. GM's swelling inventories despite huge incentives and some production cutbacks leave many expecting further shutdowns.

Yup. Massive overstocks, widespread extended plant idling and league leading incentives all are signs of a well-honed strategy going exactly to plan.

Gonna be a lean few upcoming quarters. And its gonna be a busy spin time for papa.

@papajim,
Oh, hi. I'm just eating some popcorn.

Jeff,

Margins tell a better story.

Ford currently at 5.9%

General Motors at 10% globally, 12.9% in North America.

Even Fiat was in the 8% range for North America.

Better hope truck sales don't cool off like the rest of automobile sales.

Most of your post is really just made up so I thought I would give you some facts.

GM’s adjusted net profits in 2Q17 came to $1.7 billion, with a net profit margin of 4.5%—lower than its adjusted net profit margin of 7.7% in 2Q16.

@andr, Well that is your opinion. As to your who is making the most money, GM does so while using Billions in US Treasury provided Tax Credits which certainly helps their bottom line.

This is nothing new everyone already knows Fords are death traps and trash.

Great job for this Ford

@Nitro
So sorry you have to keep defending Ford!

johnny ...everyone already knows Fords are death traps and trash."
Well then, not everyone knows what you know. Because friends, family, people you pass by, ALL keep buying the FORDS keeping them #1 year after year after year.

Great job for this Ford, do not be like GM and let things go, then bad things happen.....remember the ignition fiasco GM fans? This is why Ford is number 1.

I don't smoke. So when is the new 2019 GM grille, aluminum panels, 10 speed and twin turbo debuting? GM is copying Ford. lol.

Sorry you have to keep defending the GM twins. I guess that's what years of frustration will do.

When Ford robs taxpayers of millions like GM and Chrysler did, I'll worry. Until then, you're right, no biggie.

ford actualy took more money from taxpayers than GM or Chrysler did.

going to need more than that uglyfords

Be careful or you might be accused of spreading fake news. You know those right wing nuts known as Ford fans.

Ford sucks folks. Cheap Fleet Recall king. Ford owners must think it's normal to buy a new vehicle only to continue to take it back to the dealer and get it fixed again and again. Never heard of Ford being the longest lasting pickups. I made the mistake of owning a Ford once. Never again. Not only recalls but deadly recalls. Ford is number one.

Well, Ford has had a bad run on recalls. The frequency of these recalls leads me to believe that the "Ford Culture" has it's attention focused in the wrong areas. Similar to FCA.

Talking FCA, if one looks at the lineup of Ford vehicles they aren't travelling very well and it will not take much to upend Frod's fragile position.

Ford really need to get the Bronco and Ranger out there and have them perform.

Between these recalls and the massive amounts spent on developing pointless aluminium vehicles, with the huge factory refitting, retraining, etc Ford will require Ford to think carefully how to move forward.

All one has to do is look at VAGs profits. Even VAG had a bigger shock than Ford and yet it is performing far better.

The F Series is the only real money spinner for Ford, but it was a huge investment with all the associated aluminium costs.

Someone needs to pay down this debt. Silly debt like these continuing recalls shows Ford is operating on a shoe string.

These types of errors are not accidents. They are made by poor management.

Ford = Poor Management.

Pickup Recalls in 2017:

Ford: 5
Toyota: 4

Thank you Ford and Toyota for keeping us safe and not sweeping little issues under the rug like Ram and Government Motors.

BAFO, educate your stupid self.

Yesterday the Ford pickup truck's 100-year anniversary and all Ford got was a lousy recall post.

Yesterday the Ford pickup truck's 100-year anniversary and all Ford got was a lousy recall post.

PUTC dropped the ball once again.

Where did everybody go?

When will this moron!c web site automatically close the comments section to recall notices?

Same old childish bickering.

Heeeheee Ford....where quality is job none!

@2.7ecobooostroost

I've been busy counting money this afternoon but I was reminded of the little volley we had back in July. Since then Ford shares are up about $1.00 per Not bad for a 12 dollar stock.

Since the middle of September GM shares are up $10 bucks per share and show no sign of stopping. Today GM hit an all time high.

thought you'd like to know.
