Happy New Year From PickupTrucks.com
Posted by Mark Williams | December 31, 2017
It's been an exciting year for pickup trucks but, from the looks of it, nothing like next year will be. If you're interested in pickups, this is the place to be. We've had plenty to be thankful for in 2017 and look forward to showing you what we can do in the coming year. Look for more tests, more behind-the-scenes information on the vehicles you care about, and more news related to the ever-evolving and growing world of pickup trucks. May your 2018 be filled with growth and opportunity - and maybe even a new pickup truck in the driveway.

Happy New Year to everyone, even the Ford fans.
Happy New Year to everyone, but the Ford fans hahaha.
Happy New Year to my GM peeps.
@GMSRGREAT..., Wishing Ford fans a Happy New Year is a false statement from you. Why don’t you try Posting Responsibly and Behave in 2018? Then..., and only then, will it be a Happy New Year...
Happy News Year, guys!
And here is a good New Year's resolution for all of us: Let's stop the brand sniping, and the verbal abuse of each others; and make civilized comments with good, documented information and suggestions! (^_^)...
======================
Let’s go get in.
SBD, Stop trulliing and use your original name or you will be reported.
Ford will continue to be the #1 selling truck in 2018
Really? Liberal media is disgusting and fake!
Showing your partiality with a bailed out Colorado sums up how pathetic and biased your reporting is!
Oxi,
If they showed a Taco crewcab bailed out by Japan and made in Mexico would that make it real?
@ Greg,
I have exposed another hateful liberal...
Provide evidence or join the fake liberal news...
Lol.
I exposed you.
You support the Japs.
Sales #s will be in tomorrow the 3rd.
Fiat Chrysler are expected to slip 11.7% from December 2016, with General Motors off 7.9% and Ford Motor Co. off 2.4%.
Stay tuned. All hec is going to break loose.
@ Greg,
Racist are we today?
I support the Toyota workers in San Antonio, Texas that built my Tacoma, the BNSF rail workers that delivered my Tacoma to the rail yard so the trucking company could deliver it to my local dealership, where I picked it up!
No where did I see one Japanese national in this transaction!
The bank that financed my loan was a local bank, my state DOT gave me my registration and licensing and a U.S. insurance company gave me my insurance documents.
I filled it up at a local Mobil fuel station!
My 2010 by the way was built by the UAW in Fremont, California, one of the last ones before Toyota sold that NUMMI plant to Tesla. Imagine if Toyota said NO to Tesla, what would have become of that?
GM continues to be the largest importer into the United States to this day!
breathlessly awaiting the December sales totals.
oxi thinks anyone who doesn't support only Toyota who is a Japanese company making trucks in Mexico and constantly gets bailed out by Japan is a liberal. Nice double standard just like the fakenews media you decry.
" [Toyota is]company making trucks in Mexico and constantly gets bailed out by Japan..."
@gregory stevens
I was not aware of that. Are you saying that Toyota is so ruined financially that Japan actually bails them out "constantly?"
Can you site specifics?
@papa jim--I did the research and it appears Toyota got money from Japan, but not as much as GM. $2 billion that Toyota received is not that much, considering that the US has given GM and Chrysler aid to the order of $20 billion each. Toyota is also far more solvent than GM and makes far better trucks cars and SUVs than GZm, so this did not seem like a bankruptcy prevention measure. More likely, they are just looking for cheap financing (which is a pretty normal thing to do). On the other hand, Japan is intentionally pushing its yen currency lower so exporters such as Toyota (and Honda) I must say. So that is another form of bailout. But the big story this week I am hearing is that GM fans are going to be in a lot of pain when the December sales totals are released. I don't know this for sure but that is what they are projecting.
All hail VW, the world’s largest carmaker for a second consecutive year. Books are still closed after holiday sales, but the Wolfsburg-based company sold at least 10.5 million vehicles in 2017, significantly more than rivals Toyota and GM.
Until Ford can publish the actual break down the F-150 vs Superduty sales, the Silverado is the best selling brand name truck in America. Period.

@the Real Jeff S--Japanese corporations for the most part have gotten subsidies and tax breaks from the Japanese government. More the case in the post WW II era when Japan was trying to rebuild their economy and expand exports. Today Japanese corporations are less dependent on subsidies but still get tax breaks as do US companies in the US. South Korea has done the same and so does China to establish a global market.
I would hope to see less name calling and less politics on this website in the New Year but it appears to be more of the same with calling others racist and liberals. I seriously doubt most of us are racist when it comes to Japanese.
most of us are racist when it comes to Japanese.

I have exposed another one...
Thanks PUTC - I'm hoping to get a new truck in 2018 & keeping an eye on US Ranger mini-Raptor version or a RAM, only if they will create a Hellcat version...Or maybe not; not liking the new 2019 RAM face...so far;

@off-road king--out of context. The statement is "I seriously doubt most of us are racist when it comes to Japanese." You left out the words "I seriously doubt" which is has a far different meaning than "most of us are racist when it comes to Japanese."
@oxi--So are all of us racist that don't own and drive Toyotas? Are those who own and drive Hondas, Nissans, and Mazdas racist? I wasn't aware that Toyota was the only Japanese owned auto manufacturer.
@ Jeff S,
Calling them "Jap" vehicles is the racist part!

Compared to what? a Tacoma? How many of each of the GMs have you owned? None? Then you need to shut up.
GM trucks can be had cheaper than Toys and virtually last forever just like about any other truck and have more options and build combinations. Why pay more for a Toy and get less?
oxi is quick with the race card. Last time I checked Toyota was not a race or even American.
Just because some Toyotas are "assembled" here and in Mexico from imported parts, many misinformed people like you consider them American. They are not.
Toyota is also increasing the numbers of Tacomas made in Mexico to free up space in Texas for the Tundra. Which will mean most Tacomas will be Mexican-made from 2017 onward.
Educate yourself.

Total bullcrap post by oxi. What did you want up there instead? The majority Mexican assembled Taco by a company headquartered inTokyothat was bailed out by the Japanese Govn't? Yes we know your personal truck was assembled in SA but doesn't mveryean a pictured one will be. Most Tacoma's are made in Mexico and all Colorados are made in the USA. So can we say double standard? I understand GMs bailout was bigger but for people like you to say one is okay and allowable while GMs is not, is pure hypocrisy. Don't be like the liberals with their biased fake news just because you are hateful and prejudiced against everything but Toyota. Not everyone has a Toy fetish like you.
I disagree with Jeff S!
I agree with oxi!
This site is biased fake news! It hates Toyota 100%!
If Toyota wasn't looked at as Japanese, it would be getting more fair coverage...
Don't be a racist!

Another disgusting comment from the racist haters!
@ Luo Dong,
Nice name...
When you buy your Chinese underwear, Chinese toys, Chinese just about everything in your rental apartment, do you slam those companies for producing in China?
You see, you liberals are always partial, you specifically target Toyota but ignore all of the foreign stuff in your home and personal lives! Why is that?
Are you racist against Japanese people? Seems so!
By the way, many foreign parts on big 3 vehicles, when was the last time you called all of those companies out, when?
GM is still the largest importer into the United States, why do they get a free ride and not hate? Ford and that Italian company import just as much, why do you racist people ignore them?
You see, the more you liberals speak, the more you look partial, biased and in some cases, racist against the Japanese!
And to think both of my Tacoma's were built in the United States by Americans, even UAW labor!
And by buying GM products, you are accepting a company to get a free ride by mommy and daddy, while the rest of the business world has to face bankruptcy court and pay their dues! You accept that some can be above the law while others cannot, that goes against your liberal logic of equality and fairness now doesn't it?
GM is mommy and daddy's company, a joke to the industry!
Where is the 2019 Ram snout? I had to see it on BING?
I agree with oxi!
