2019 Ford F-150 With Integrated Twin Exhaust: Spied

I-z3T9hFm-XL II

Following the release of EPA fuel-economy ratings for the 2018 Ford F-150 Power Stroke diesel powertrain, our spy shooters saw an interesting design change on a new and naked Ford F-150 Limited pickup truck. Although the front of the truck remains the same, the rear bumper appears to have a dual-exhaust setup integrated into the rear bumper. The only other F-150 pickup that offers a similar feature is the Ford Raptor, which has us thinking this Limited might have a high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost (previously only offered on the Raptor) under its hood. Here's what our spy sent us:

"We caught up to the 2019 F-150 Limited on the streets of Dearborn, Mich. Although Ford released a refreshed version of the Limited in mid-2017 as a 2018 model, we can now confirm that the 2019 model will get a revised rear bumper with an integrated dual exhaust to keep up with the competition. Ford is the last of the Detroit Three to jump onto the dual-exhaust-tip bandwagon. Ram has had it for a while, and GMC and Chevrolet just introduced it on their 2019 half-ton models.

"The 2019 Limited will continue to be powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 mated to a 10-speed transmission while sitting on aluminum 22-inch wheels, a hallmark for the truck."

FORD! leading the way in dual exhaust technology! Always 1st in everything. All other mfg's stink! by the way, do you think you can look at my F-150?... it won't start again.

You guys should go play around with the Ford build your own. Yesterday , I was playing around trying to see if they had the diesel listed and priced, but they did not. ONE interesting thing I found though, I was able to add the 3.5 HO to every trim level

What is the point of dual exhaust on a truck that doesn't sound any good? I put dual exhaust on my 5.0 for to enhance the sound of the v8. What's the point on an ecoboost?

@Beebe, probably for looks. Just about every car and and suv has dual exhaust these days even the 4 bangers.

Valid question. It's more about what a dual exhaust was designed for--better flow. The tone benefit is secondary. I will admit I like the sound of a V8 with duals myself!

I was just about to say same thing about dual exhaust!! LOL

The 5.0L yes it makes a true V8 rumble, sounds great.

The ecothirst...what will they make even more FAKE V8 sound come through the speakers!!! Geezzz

I agree with redbloodexy...it will be for better flow!! Just gotta give the Ford guys some HECK bc of the fake sound they give through speakers!! Even you guys gotta admit its funny!!

One outlet is the actual tailpipe. Inside the opposite tailpipe is the tweeter to give it a more full annoying exhaust note.

Sometimes when I am walking up to my 6.2 Silverado I will remote start it so I can enjoy the sound of that V8 beast fire up. It's an eargasm.

GMS-wish the camaros were like that, you cant tell they are v8's they are so quiet.

Hmm..last time a checked the SS camaro sounded pretty mean!!

Heres a video just for you CT

I thinks that a very nice sound!!

Started my 6.2L up this morning, filled it up for the wife to take on a long trip!! Sounded amazing!! Saving up for the Borla exhaust, can't wait for that sound!!! Its pricey but all forums say its worth it!

To TNT's point, I drove a newer Navigator with EB recently and from inside the vehicle, launches actually sound REALLY good. Be it the piped in fake sound or the engines natural induction note [or a combo of both], it was a very gratifying experience and that 6,000 lb sled really pulls!

My beef with most sixes however is the sheep-like drone from the tail pipe.

Redbloodexy

How was the new Navigator?? Heard some real nice things about them. My buddy that tints windows owns a 17 Escalade and is looking at an 18 Escalade with new 10 spd and he has heard nice things to about Navigator. he is not an ecobust fan, wishes they offered 5.0L in it and he would consider driving one.

@John

You crack me up. I can't stop laughing about that one.

Now that Ford decided to put dual exhaust on their trucks, why is it that the Ford clown's are being quiet about the oil being blown all over their trailers. Kind of remember them complaining about that when Dodge put duals on their trucks.

This is funny, wait for Chingon garbage motor comment and Ecoboost cosumer report

Isn't the 7.0L V8 supposed to be here by then for the Raptor? Remember before the model switch, the top trims could be had with the 6.2, just like the Raptor. That 7 liter would make sense with twice pipes.

Two tailpipes are better than one. That's what I always say, especially when the wife isn't around!!

How about that front air dam...see a lot of trucks and cars around here after the winter with busted air dams.

TNTGMC

I did not drive the '18--can't give you a first hand account. From what I read about them in all the magazines, and seen on youtube, they're supposed to be fantastic. Top notch luxury features and nobody's ever complained about the engine, but instead, praised it.

Remember the Navigator enjoys the distinction of having the most repeat buyers.

From what I've seen, the 7.0 is slated for Super Duty use. There was a rumor about it going into a top-spec Raptor, but nothing official. I would hope it's a possibility, though. Who doesn't want a 428-powered pickup or Mustang while we're at it?

To you guys saying Ford is first....Ram has been doing this for a LONG time (atleast 6 or 7 years). I'm a chevy guy btw, and am glad to see that they will also be offering dual integrated exhaust on their 2019 model.

@ Redbloodexy

Ya glad they finally updated it after 15 years!!!! Still would be great with an option for 5.0L!!

TNTGMC:

Yep--it was long in the tooth for sure, but a pretty nice vehicle for being ancient.

I gotta say though, I have a friend who owns a 2012 Nav and just ordered a new '18 with the Yacht Club package. If you knew this man, he absolutely hates everything, but he loves his Nav!

When is ford going to come up with a new design for its 2004 design of a truck ! Park a 2004 beside it,they look the same !! Sure different grille, head lights and trim but same looking truck ,same,same,same..Pitiful !

TNTGMC,

Why are you using a Chrysler name ..TNT is what Chrysler cars had on their Air Cleaner for the version of the High Performance 440....440 TNT !!! Thats what it was called !!

Dont brag how little you and your wife make, people lie all the time on the internet, unless you produce your real name, real bank statement then dont talk about it...

That was her,not myself..She works 7~1/2 months of the year.

I bet you will say youre tall, good looking and strong like bull (thats me actually) Also I am/was a kick boxer !!!

As for a kick boxer.. Great! Go see if can get a job in Hollywood in the next expendables movie since your tall dark and handsome

Is it true duals or just two pipes at the very end like a lot of manufacturers do? Ram did this same thing a few years ago with the pipes integrated with the rear bumper and I wasn’t a fan of it then and still am not because it looks mashed together. That and if you want to change the location of the pipes you have to deal with the notched bumper. My opinion is that duals look best below the bumper, pointed straight back with angled tips, but of course visual is subjective. Going back to whether or not it is a true dual system is important because if it is not functional then it is stupid, the same goes for non functional hood scoops, fake roll bars, fake bead locks, and fake engine sounds. All of which serve no purpose other than to be deceptive.

Its a good look and Fiat was right to bring it back.

thanks for proving my point

I love how people brag about buying with cash, and pay full price and do not even realize it. If you drop that kind of cash on a badly overpriced GM you are not who you say you are, I'd imagin you would be upset paying 50K cash then 2-3 years later sell it for half that.

Same guy.

Same lack of any polish in posts.

Same lack of any data other than mine's better than yours.

Or maybe related???

(braces for the intellectually stimulating retorts)

Nothing sounded better than an old 350 with headers and glasspacks when the old 4bbl cracked open......now that was when dual exhaust was cooool.....lol

One tip is the exhaust, and the other one will contain a speaker for v-8 sound!

Ford copied Ram with the dual exhaust into the rear bumper

I’m impressed Chingon can spell something else than ha ha ha garbage motor crap

i'm not Frank, CT or Chingon or any of the other fanboys, the problem i got with TNTGMC post after post he keep calling people ignorant, mindless, and even stupid for the brand of trucks they drive if a person has to be that biased to brag up his own brand of truck then it shows his real character and apparently you agree with that
