2015-2017 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500: Recall Alert
by Patrick Masterson
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1.1 million model-year 2015-17 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with a power locking tailgate and either a 5-foot-7-inch or 6-foot-4-inch bed
The Problem: The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving, which may lead to cargo may falling out, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will repair the Ram for free.
What Owners Should Do: Ram parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners Sept. 14. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.

1.1 million, Damn!
RAM trucks sometimes get panned for being a bit overweight. there's nothing like dumping some freight out the back of the bed to reduce the load, and make extra space in the bed.
Lets be honest, most pickups on the road are jacked up and have an empty bed... not much danger here.
Soccer mom equipment lives matter too

Not even a simple latch can they get right. WHY?
The cost of this recall is nothing compared to the bill coming from the SCR diesel issue.
Meeh, Ford won this contest easily already . Did you all forget ?
First of all a cabin doors, which is more dangerous for passengers, so 1.34 million trucks x 4 doors = 5.36 million latches to fix.

"Ford has now recalled more than 5 million vehicles for varying door latch-related issues since 2016, but the company said the issue in the new recall is different from prior ones."
Wow. I was wrong. Ford had several. Door Latch related Recalls. 20 millions door latches to fix. No one can beat that.
