2019 Ford Ranger XLT STX Photo Gallery: Ready to Play

We've seen a couple versions of the coming 2019 Ford Ranger — both the FX4 and the Raptor — but now we can add one more after visiting the 2018 State Fair of Texas, which runs through Oct. 21 in Dallas. This 2019 Ford Ranger XLT with the STX Appearance Package was dressed to hit the beach or lagoon with surfboards and kayaks on the roof. The display vehicle had all the same underpinnings we've seen on Ford Rangers at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and 2018 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.

Compared to other models we've seen, there's nothing really different about the STX, but we do like the bare-bones look and quality of the interior seats, dash and console area. And we hope Ford will eventually offer a manual transmission option.

Here's a closer look at what we saw at the 2018 State Fair of Texas.

@ Brick

Looks like this clown got put in his place and this PUTC comparison states my claim.

Sad little Brick...Go cry to someone else. your pathetic!

BTW...this fool probably doesn't even own a truck!

BTW...Stay on topic!!!

I ended my comment by commenting on the Ranger you foul....what did you do...nothing....typical garbage from a guy who is poorly educated!

If the Bronco is getting the 7-Speed Manual, I don't see why the Ranger wouldn't get it.

Posted by: Frank | Oct 15, 2018 9:58:31 AM

I'm not against the idea, but I don't think there's a huge market for in a mainstream mid sized truck with a manual. The 10 spd auto would likely get better mpg and acceleration. I believe it does so in the Mustang? I think the Tacoma is rated better mpg with the auto, not sure about performance though. To me, the 2.3 needs to beat the 2.7 F-150 by at least 2 mpg to prove it was the right option. I don't think it will. It would still be class leading if it tied the F-150's rated 19/24 (4wd), but you are not getting the awesomeness of the 2.7, no matter how capable the 2.3 is. MPG is the one area that mid size trucks are not up with the times (4wd). The Ranger could and should change that.

The people who need to be taxed and can afford to be taxed are the ones not being taxed.

@Vulpine

Spoken like a true liberal.

It's understandable though, being in Maryland. Does Maryland allow people to vote Republican anymore or is the choice Democrat or Socialist?

TNTGAY spouts off about other’s being “ uneducated “ while making spelling mistake after spelling mistake.

You are an absolute P.O.S.

@Vulpine, no offense...but it doesn't make a lot of sense that the people who can afford to pay taxes don't pay any. The top 5% pay 60% of all taxes, and the top 50% pay 97.3% of all taxes. Looks to me like those who can afford to pay taxes are paying the most taxes just as they should be.

2011 T6 Ranger will be available soon in Canada and USA.
Great
Way to go Ford! You said there was no market and no future for the Ranger here. You said there was no market and no need for diesel in F-150. You said Ecoboost gasoline engines make diesel obsolete and diesel is too expensive.
Hypocrites.

Here’s a great site for the truth

https://www.jihadwatch.org/

@Brick, lol

Look at the liar TNTGAY run his mouth off topic. Claims he never is off topic. Just like he said he never claimed the 2019 was a game changer - and then was shown his quote stating just that. Let’s nit forget the lies he spews about his fake mpg.

What a sad P.O.S

@ Brick

Spelling mistakes!! nit....you mean "not"

Don't come on here and try to do grammar lessons when you obviously didn't proof read...Your an absolute disgrace. Get a life and move along...insert foot into mouth

@ Brick

Plus PUTC solidifies my comment that I get my claimed MPG......so it really must chap your @$$ that I'm right...

BTW. Do you even drive a truck? I bet its a Prius isnt it. Or maybe an escort?

I can’t stand the guy. But at least he doesn’t lie like you do TNT

That game changer comment spoke loud and clear about you. That’s a foot in mouth moment.

@ papajim

Explain to me how I lied? Love to here it!

@ Brick

Looks like this clown got put in his place and this PUTC comparison states my claim.

C & D = 15 mpg combined
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-gmc-sierra-1500-denali-62l-v-8-4x4-test-review

C & D = 20 mpg hwy on a hwy loop
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2018-chevrolet-silverado-1500-in-depth-model-review-2018-chevrolet-silverado-1500-fuel-economy-review-car-and-driver-page-3

Fuelly.com = 16.1 mpg 2014-2018 Avg
http://www.fuelly.com/car/chevrolet/silverado_1500?engineconfig_id=167&bodytype_id=&submodel_id=

TFL = 19 mpg on small fuel mileage loop
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Rx4F5szS4k

So, clearly anything over 20 mpg is an exception, not the rule. The PUTC chart is interesting. In the same Texas showdown fuel economy challange, they tested the 5.3 GM, 2.7 Ford, EcoDiesel and 4.6 Toyota. In that test the 5.3 got worse than the 6.2 and the 2.7 got worse than the 3.5 ( from the graph posted ), that test posted was either very unscientific or very flawed would be the logical conclusion. Not that it is some sort of solid proof. Every other published source disputes the test for not only the 6.2, but the other trucks. If someone is getting 22, 23, 24 or whatever from the 6.2 in normal driving, they should feel blessed because that is not the reality of most any one else. I have seen some 21's hwy posted by a few users on the GM forum.

You claimed to have never said the 2019 Silverado/Sierra we’re game changers.

Yet there is a quote of yours saying just that provided courtesy of 2.7EBR.

Would you like to see that again?

@ papajim

And then I said a truck that has a V8 and gets as good or better fuel economy than an ecoboost is a game changer!

Sure, did I forget I commented that statement of course! It is was like back in July or august. I've commented so many times since then.

U can call me a liar like the rest of these ford.clowns but I get my mogs. And the PUTC comparison proves that the 6.2L is capable of doing it. Whether u and your ford guys like it or not.

mpgs....not mogs

As for just the Truth... I dont comment on him, bc, he posts under multiple usernames.....isnt worth my time

Plus he doesnt drive a truck.. Has no input on this matter at all.

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM. LOL

Tntonline can't handle the truth. He does know anything you want to know about Michael Jackson.

THE FAKE PAPAJIM

@papajim--Thanks for the advice. Since you did IT for years then you should know. Thanks again.

@ Brick

You gonna answer my question on what you drive? Do you even drive a truck? I bet your actually "just the truth" aka "Frank in Florida". All the same clown hiding under multiple names!

The Ranger should have looked like the Bronco that was in the movie Rampage that Dwayne Johnson drove. That concept Bronco was sharp and that's the look the Ranger should be taking on! Not a sedan front end.

Brick is not the old Brick. Look back to the beginning of the year and you will see intelligent posts about mechanical failures and causes. Never threw personal insults.

This current clown is probably one of the Frank internet username militia.

Just stop responding.

@TNT

What do you do for a living? House on the lake.... cash for your truck..... You can afford all that being a full time blogger on PUTC?? LOL

@ Harry

Come on man, come up with a better name, is this number 21 of your multiple usernames/personalities

tntOnline does Michael Jackson impersonations.

Republican Governor, at least one Republican in the House of Representatives, others scattered throughout the state government...

Umm... what's that about not voting Republican in Maryland?

Ummmm... No. That's what they want you to believe but they are NOT paying their fair share. They dodge the taxes any way they can and pay far less per person on a percentage basis than Middle-, Lower- and Poverty-class persons. They pay an average of about 8%-10% where the rest of us pay closer to 25%.

Personally, I'm a proponent of flat tax across the board; all "Entities", if they pay taxes in any form, should pay the same percentage of income tax as any other individual, no matter who or what they are.

Speaking on my personal 2019 Colorado with the V6, So far I'm getting roughly 18mpg in local traffic while a 90-mile circuit on the freeway gave me a 25.1mpg average. Of course, this is within the first 400 miles since purchase but it suggests I'll be happy with my mileage. It meets or exceeds the mileage I got with my '97 Ranger that only had a 112hp four-banger under the hood.

Personally, I'd rather see the sedan front end; it's a guaranteed 2-3mpg improvement over those box noses of the F-series, even discounting their engine differences.

--- I didn't know your name was Ursula.

This isn't an XLT, it's an XL. The STX package is only available on the XL. The XLT does have a Sport Appearance Package available, but it is visually different from the STX.

@Vulpine Still disagree with you on who actually pays the taxes...see below for 2016 effective tax rates by income. Maybe the rich don't pay as much as you would like, but they still pay a lot more proportionally and in actual dollars than the rest of us.

$1 to $25,000, 1.7%

$25,000 to $50,000, 5.2%

$50,000 to $100,000, 8.7%

$100,000 to $200,000, 12.6%

$200,000 to $500,000, 19.5%

$500,000 to $1 million, 25.8%

$1 million to $10 million, 29%

"$1 to $25,000, 1.7%
$25,000 to $50,000, 5.2%
$50,000 to $100,000, 8.7%
$100,000 to $200,000, 12.6%
$200,000 to $500,000, 19.5%
$500,000 to $1 million, 25.8%
$1 million to $10 million, 29%"

--- That was Obama era. What about now? Remember, big corporations just got a big cut in their tax rate down to 10% and the so-called wealthy individuals had their taxes cut as well, pushing all the load onto the middle class and below. But even worse, the US budget deficit is driving towards bankruptcy faster than ever before because the tax rate comes nowhere near the increased expenses driven by current policy. American industry across the board is being driven towards bankruptcy... including farms, manufacturing and nearly every other aspect of industry.

Fender logo that says "Ranger" does not match the tailgate. The
"A" is different!

@Vulpine

I've been reading your comments for more than five years.

In all that time you never criticized the previous president for DOUBLING the national debt in 8 years.

The amount of increase in the nation's debt exceeded the entire amount of every previous president's figures. You had nothing to say about it.

The DOW is up 10,000 points from the 2015 figures.

In less than 3 years our new president has ramped up the economy like no prior administration. You're barking up the wrong tree dude!

@ papajim

I agree with you. Our current president has done things for our economy that we have not seen in decades!

Now, if he would learn to control his twitter rage. It would be sweet. No need for that!

The people who need to be taxed and can afford to be taxed are the ones not being taxed. There's no such thing as "trickle-down economics."

Posted by: Vulpine | Oct 15, 2018 2:01:52 PM

Why not a flat tax? Everyone pays their fair proportionate share. No corporate welfare and no redistribution of funds for those who refuse to better themselves. Why should someone who pays in $2,000 in federal taxes get an $8,000 refund? Another who pays in $8,000 breaks even. That's insane. Would end up somewhere between 7-10% for everyone who earns a wage. Pull back the entitlements ( I know, Dems so it's no so appealing to scam the system

EDIT:

Pull back the entitlements ( I know, Dems use those for votes) so it's no so appealing to scam the system.

I won't argue that the total deficit did double... approximately... over Obama's tenure. But the RATE of fall changed drastically... and was actually on the rise towards canceling out that deficit by the time he left office. The rate of change has now turned negative again and is falling faster than ever before. We are coming closer to record deficit every day. Whether you agree or not, if something doesn't happen soon, this country could well see a stock market crash that makes the Great Depression of 1929 look like a mere hiccup. The only reason things look so good right now is that the people who HAVE money are getting more money than ever, while those without, are losing it due to increasing prices not balanced by increased wages.

When will it happen? Honestly, I don't know. We're approaching a knife-edge situation of which Ford's stock is but one indicator--especially considering Ford dodged the bankruptcies back in '08. The market rise over the last two years is too fast and almost 100% due to some critical changes in finance law which is permitting unethical behavior by corporate entities. The tipping point may well destroy American industry, forcing the Government itself into bankruptcy just to stabilize the overall economy.

@vulpine

Get a good dictionary. Use it.
