2019 Ford F-150 Hennessey VelociRaptor Is Ready to Roar

IMG_3161 copy II

We had the chance to speak with high-performance expert John Hennessey, CEO of Hennessey Performance, at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas where he gave us an up-close tour of his latest project: the 758-horsepower, 5.0-liter supercharged VelociRaptor V-8 that's based on a 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCab.

The truck has a commanding stance with 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrains on 20-by-10-inch alloy wheels, but the beauty here is that Hennessey removed the Raptor's high-output 450-hp, 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost in favor of the Coyote V-8. Of course, he had to bolt on a massive 2.9-liter supercharger system, which we're told will allow the VelociRaptor to run to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and do a quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds @ 115 mph.

"Our customers have been begging for the V-8 option for their new Raptor since the truck first came out in early 2017. We heard their calls and are so pleased to meet this need in the marketplace. The sound of the VelociRaptor alone is worth it," he said. "The most complicated part of the setup is to get the engine and transmission computers to talk to each other to get the most power to the ground."

The custom truck that was on display at the 2018 SEMA Show had a 6-inch suspension lift, custom front and rear bumpers, LED lights, special exterior badging and logos, and serial number plaques inside the truck and engine compartment. Pricing for the VelociRaptor V-8, as you might expect, is pricey and starts at $147,950 (includes price of 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor). It has a limited run of 100 units for the 2019 model year. It comes with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty for both the base Ford truck and Hennessey modifications. For more information, visit Hennessey Performance or call 979-885-1300.

Here's a partial list of the upgrades found on the Hennessey VelociRaptor V-8:

  • Ford wiring harnesses and engine control unit
  • 2.9-liter supercharger (with boost of 7 pounds per square inch)
  • Air-to-water intercooler
  • High-flow air induction
  • Fuel injector upgrade
  • Fuel system upgrade
  • Stainless-steel cat-back exhaust
  • Stage 2 off-road suspension with 6-inch lift
  • LED front lighting

Of note: We've been invited to Hennessey headquarters outside Houston to get behind the wheel of both current and older customized vehicles. We'll have more to report after our tour of duty.

Sweet baby Jesus. Now THAT'S a truck!

"Our customers have been begging for the V-8..." said Mr Hennessey.

@PUTC Ford fans

I've been saying this all along! Ford needs a proper V8 option for the F150 and the Expedition.

@ papajim GM went thru bankruptcy so admit it.

Ford could build these OEM sell them for 115K. The money is out there, they would sell a few hundred to the Saudis the first day orders were open.

I'd like to hang one of those lower A arms on my wall.

I wouldn’t give Hennessey a DIME! All you have to do is a little online research, and you will find he has screwed over a bunch of people! Thanks, but no thanks...

Just the truth your at it again dude. You can’t let anything go can you? Anytime someone disagrees with you, says something you find offensive or inaccurate you relentlessly hound them. For the sake of your reputation I’d encourage you to knock it off.

Oh gees, he's started again.

Geezus Jim: I have been following these comment sections for several years now so whatever you do, don't quote any lyrics from Micheal Jackson songs cus he/she doesn't know when to shut up.

Edit from last comment. Should read as

........cus he/she or LGBT doesn't know when to shut up.

nice looking truck. This deserves a V8! A true exhaust note coming from the rear of truck not through the speakers. Always been a fan of silver!

Careful, you may have just “triggered” the avocado toast eater and now you’ll be the target of relentless demands for apologies or mea culpas. At least you didn’t mention anything about a woman’s cycle.. Oops!

I am attempting to be as politically correct as possible when referring to someone I know nothing about.

@ gms are not great Are you and tntOnline one and the same or are you another Michael Jackson defending pervert?

Hey, Just the Truth! You were caught red handed using more than 1 username! You are a hypocrite!
Second, you twist everyone's words around to make yourself feel better.
Third, I am not GMSGREAT for the last time. I have a GMC Sierra 2018 with a 6.2L and he has a Chevy 6.2L High Country I beleive.
You just cant handle the truth that we drive a truck and you drive a car and come onto a truck forum and talk $h!t. Please seek help for your split personalities

What happens when you need help. Do you pull into your local Ford dealer?

You used both usernames in blue. “ TNTGMC GMSDGREAT “ in the Nissan Titan article.

You are the same poster. Or you were caught red handed using another persons username...something you beotch and complain about.

It’s one it the other.

@ Brawndo #20 usernames

Just because someone else logs on and uses my name and GMSRGREAT in blue doesn't mean I wrote the comment. You have issues...I can see your all the same person. You drive a car as well with your 2 year old "TNTGAY" post. Do us a favor and go to car forum with your 20 usernames and enjoy yourself.

@Sam e

You don't need to worry about that if you buy a Maxx battery at Walm*rt.

Buy at 3 year guaranteed battery ($100) and take it back every 2 years for free replacement. Don't knock it till you try it. Always have a fresh battery for less than 2 dollars per month.

Get a new username Leach!!

Now back on topic.

I really like this truck. I think in person it has a commanding presence! Its a huge truck. If they could cut some weight off of it using mixed materials it would be been better.

Interesting to see how it performs.

That is ALL you. The above is directly from the Nissan article. You messed up and the proof is there for everybody to see.

You are the only poster with a “ typekey account “.

@ imposter

How is that all me? Anyone can log into Typepad account and create a profile! They just cant use the same name. Hence, you attempting to use my name but you put a space inbetween TNT GMC!! Your pathetic! Calling me a "liar" when you are the one who has stolen my username. You have some serious issues!! YES, my username, because I drive a GMC Sierra truck..you leach!! I have had it on this site for almost 2 years. Yet, when your little ego got hurt, you started screwing up this site with 20 multiple names. Grow up and have a normal conversation! If you don't agree with me that is fine. MAN-UP and use your own name and tell me why you don't agree instead of hiding behind a fake name or someone else's username. Kinda shows that your a coward!

In your little temper tantrum, mental meltdown and l fit of rage, you forgot to switch usernames. Face the truth. Deal with the repercussions.

Your lies are there for everyone to see.

With that much power, I sure hope its life expectancy is better than the actual creature it's named after.
