How to Make Extra Money With Your Pickup

Colorado LT 11 II

We feel your pain. You've either paid a king's ransom to finally get the pickup you've always wanted or you've put off buying the pickup you need for just one more year because of how expensive new pickup trucks can be.

Maybe there's a solution. What about making some extra money with your truck? Doing so would address the cost issue and allow you to more fully utilize the capabilities of your truck. No matter what your job, you're probably not using your pickup to regularly haul loads and cargo. And if you need a little extra cash, why not use your truck to help those whose vehicles don't offer the same utility?

Yes, it can be risky, but there are companies that help match truck owners to people in need, especially if you're a "pretty good person." One of them is Pickupnow.com, aka Pickup Instant Deliver, which hires first responders, veterans and other good guys to deliver oversized goods in 30 big cities across the country. Not only does Pickupnow.com partner with major retailers, it also works with individuals. Have company coming to stay and that new mattress you ordered won't arrive in time? Pickupnow.com can match you up with a driver who will meet your deadline. In fact, the company's moto is "Instant Delivery by Good Guys."

Drivers for Pickupnow make at least $25 an hour and can work part or full time. Check the website about other requirements for drivers.

“ How to make extra money with your pickup “?

Start off by NOT buying a GM product...

https://www.cheatsheet.com/automobiles/the-pickup-trucks-with-the-worst-reliability-ratings-for-2019.html/

Buy A Sierra/Silverado with the 6.2L, you will win every race

@ water You likely want like the fastest V8 truck test on TFL. Hint the 6.2 did not win.

TFL compared a 4 wheel drive to a 2 wheel drive. Get your facts straight "IT"!!

I agree with water. Buy a 6.2l, smoke anything in a truck, and also get great fuel economy!

Have a great day!

And right here last week they proved it..So there are your facts!!

As in the race to the gas station...

PUTC, both brand new GM Trucks has abysmal fuel economy. And let’s not forget “ premium fuel “

Get your facts straight...

“ This comparison includes the following:

Ford F-150 XLT with the 5.0L V8 & 10-speed automatic. This is a 2WD truck with a 3.15 rear axle ratio that is here for towing efficiency testing. It’s rated at 395 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.

Ford F-150 Lariat with the 3.5L twin-turbo V6 & 10-speed automatic. This is a 4×4 truck with a 3.31 rear axle ratio. It’s here for the Ike Gauntlet™ – world’s toughest towing test. It’s rated at 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. “

4th place... out of 5... good thing you gotta spend extra on the crappy high country to get the big primitive 6.2. Chevy KNOWS MOST of its owners don't want that crap that's why they only make enough of them every year to fill a thimble.

Back on topic. I think I'll pass on "making money" off my truck by loaning/renting it out to strangers. Even if they are "good guys". But to each their own.

Remember a 2019 chevy high country is only better than a 2019 Titan.

Looks like TNTGAY was caught in another lie.

It says "When you drive for PICKUP you make at least $25 per run"

What is a "run" .
A 100 mile RT in bumper to bumper city traffic with a million red lights that takes all day and burns 30 gallons of fuel?

Good idea but $25 per run - expenses is a joke. When I was hauling I had a $100. Minimum. Cash. Most jobs were much higher.

@; tntOnline The 5.0 out run the 6.2 and that is a fact. You said you would never respond to anything I posted. That makes you a liar and that is just the truth.

the tailgate on that blue Ranger in the photo looks like somebody got after it with a Louisville Slugger. Whose idea was that?

@ tntOnline You do realize the 2.7 Ecoboost is faster than the 5.0. Just more proof the 2.7 Ecoboost is faster than the 6.2. Also the 3.5 and 3.5HO are faster than the 5.0.

my truck earns its keep. it serves as a plow truck and i haul logs and make firewood deliveries with it

It's funny to me that in cities I see people driving trucks just for show and nothing else. I use my truck for what's it's built for: hauling, towing and it's also my daily driver.

I see a lot of trucks that have mega lifts, huge rims and small tires (sidewall height) that can't do anything except look good or to some people look awful. A real truck will have the correct amount lift (3"-6") with the right size rims (16"-18") and tire size.

Consumers are so driven to outdo the next person in spending thousands and thousands of dollars just to have a bigger, better, and fancier truck.

Don't get me wrong, I do like some of the aftermarket modified trucks, but only to a certain point. But modified a truck only if it's needed, and not what u want.

A truck with the right engine size, tranny, gear ratios and trim level is all that we need for what's the truck intended for.

Just my 2 cents and happy truckin'

For the imposter using my name or anyone else who.doesnt know there head from @$$.

GMs 6.2L doesn't not "require" premium fuel. All u clowns that thinking does, do not know anything about the engine or probably drive cars. It recommends premium but ot runs just fine on 87-89 octane as long as u aren't pulling a heavy load. Get your facts straight and your head examined

Better yet. Buy a truck and really know!!

Also, if u can afford a $40-$50k truck then the $8 difference to fill it up is nothing. If u can't don't buy one and drive an escort like "IT" does and his 20 multiple personalities

“ For all vehicles except those with the 6.2L V8 engine, use regular unleaded gasoline meeting ASTM specification D4814 with a posted octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use gasoline with an octane rating below 87, as it may cause engine damage and will lower fuel economy.

If the vehicle has the 6.2L V8 engine (VIN Code J), “ use premium unleaded gasoline meeting ASTM specification D4814 with a posted octane rating of 91 or higher “. Regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher can be used, but acceleration and fuel economy will be reduced, and an audible knocking noise may be heard. If this occurs, use a gasoline rated at 91 octane or higher as soon as possible. Otherwise, the engine could be damaged. If heavy knocking is heard when using gasoline with a 91 octane rating or higher, the engine needs service. “

So if you use regular unleaded, you’ll get even more asbysmal mileage than you already get

Buy a 6.2l, smoke anything in a truck, and also get great fuel economy!

Have a great day!

The Ecoboost got better MPG than the 6.2L in the test, get your facts straight lying twerp.

It is a great idea to make extra money.

It would be great if there was a breakdown of the dough.
What is the Pickupnow.com take ratio wise.

Since it is in big cities - who would cover for the parking tickets?
$25 looks like peanuts.

While we are at it who covers for : a) gas, b) dings and scrapes, & c) wear and tear.

It just give an impression the pick up truck owner is taken for a ride while others make the dough - but this the capitalist society 'there is a sucker born every minute' P. T. Barnum

Hey Frank

The EcoBoost also had 11k miles on it. The motor was broken in. Yet it still got beat in all performance categories!! I love facts!!! You clown. Don't reply cause u hurt yourself. U drive a car as well and run your trap constantly.

@tntonline. Try acting like an adult.

@ Brawndo

I own a 2018 6.2L. I know what can and can't be used in per service manual. The word recommend doesn't mean required!
Lots of guys have a 6.2 and don't use premium. Heck the guy next door to our lake house is a General manager for Billion auto and all he drives are 6.2s and he has never put premium in them. They run just fine for him.

Like I've also stated if u are complaining about the $8 - $10 difference in gas u better not be buying a $50k vehicle.

I have no problem paying the extra $10 to get all the performance out of it and smoke all the ecobusts I can.

Have a great night

@ "IT"
Try getting 1 username, then finding some facts, and lastly buy a truck so u can bring something to the table. Otherwise, go to a car forum please. Would be awesome if u did. U might be able to bring something to those conversations

@ tntOnline You need to get over it grow up. I can and will post what I want when I want. All you can do is throw your teenager hissy fits.
Remember I am just the truth if you have problem with me you have a problem with just the truth.

Of course, it's slower and hence uses less fuel.

I have no problem paying the extra $10 to get all the performance out of it and smoke all the ecobusts I can.

Agreed.

@ "IT"

Get 1 username and show some facts and then maybe someone will take u seriously and not for a clown.

Btw.....u have no facts that a 2.7 is faster. Putc just proves the 6.2L is fastest ...that's how childish you are "IT". I think u should grow up, take off your glasses, buy a truck and then u would know.....but u don't bc u drive a car.

Good day

Reminds me of that horrible Stallone movie where he goes around saying “I am the law!”

Never mind the logical fallacy at the core of the statement...

By the way I’ve never seen a more millennial statement on this site...

@tntonline You say you will never post to me again and then do. That makes you a liar. If you don't like what I post don't read it.

Back on topic. I don't need extra money. I am retired at 40!
