Ram says its Lone Star special-edition pickup truck is a favorite among Texas truck buyers since starting the offering in 2002, and Texans now have a new one to go after: the 2019 Ram 2500/3500 Lone Star, which debuted this week at the 2019 DFW Auto Show in Dallas-Fort Worth. The Ram heavy-duty Lone Star is only distributed in Texas and is mostly an appearance package for the redesigned Ram 2500 and 3500.

The Ram 2500 Lone Star starts at $39,340 with destination, while the 3500 with the Texas-only package is $40,790 — that's an upcharge of $4,250 over the base 2500 regular-cab Tradesman with rear-wheel drive and the 3500. Lone Stars are offered in regular-, crew- and Mega-Cab body styles, as well as with the other goods optional on the new Ram HD, including the turbo-diesel 6.7-liter Cummins that makes 1,000 pounds-feet of torque, a 360-degree camera and auxiliary camera system. The standard engine is the 6.4-liter V-8 making 410 horsepower and 429 pounds-feet of torque.

Included in the Ram HD Lone Star special edition are:

  • Lone Star tailgate and interior badging
  • Chrome door handles
  • Chrome bumpers
  • Chrome grille surround
  • Standard 18-inch wheels
  • Class V receiver hitch
  • Electronic trailer brake controller
  • Power trailer-tow mirrors

Ram says it's sold more than 270,000 Lone Star editions since the Texas-only model's inception. Texans can buy their Ram HD Lone Stars starting in the second quarter of 2019.
