We facetiously subtitled our story for which PickupTrucks.com's Aaron Bragman tested the real-world fuel economy of the 2019 F-250 Super Duty "Better Than You Might Think." Facetiously, of course, because with specs like these, the mpg would pretty much have to be better than you might think — a nearly 6,500-pound pickup powered by a 385-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 making 430 pounds-feet of torque and boasting a gross vehicle rating in excess of 8,500 pounds, meaning it legally eschews mileage reporting.

The 15.7 mpg combined figure the F-250 Super Duty ultimately returned on Bragman's 200-mile test drive (translating to a massive range of 750 miles on a full tank) proves competitive. Now, with a vehicle like this, conventional wisdom is that fuel economy takes a wayback backseat (like, so far back it's sitting on the tailgate) to performance considerations for someone likely to be purchasing one for the sorts of activities that call for a hardhat, buckskin gloves and a pair of steel-toe Caterpillar boots.

But, like "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson being cast as the Dark Knight in the next "Batman" movie, conventional wisdom is destined to be defied. As a result, our report on the 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty's real-world fuel economy was PickupTrucks.com's most popular story for the whole of the month of May — and it wasn't without heavy-duty competition.

Ford F-Series pickup trucks dominated last month's top five most-read articles, with our rundown of what you get (and what you don't) for $44,000 in a Ford F-250 and our walk-around of an enthusiast's fantasy truck in the 2019 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson special edition landing at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. Rounding out the top five were our recos for how Toyota could warm us up to the Tundra's next-generation pickup and a rundown of 2020 updates to the Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

And that ain't the half of it ... well, actually, it's exactly half — but that leaves five more of our most popular posts from the past month. Here are the top 10 stories PickupTrucks.com readers couldn't get enough of in May:
