Vehicles Affected: Approximately 5,500 model-year 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickup trucks, and 3500 chassis-cab trucks

The Problem: The brake calipers may have been manufactured with an incorrect assembly fluid. This can cause the caliper's rubber seals to swell and the brakes to drag, potentially overheating the brakes and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the front brake calipers and brakes hoses. They will also bleed the brakes. All repairs will be done for free.

What Owners Should Do: Ram manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners of the recall Oct. 18. Owners can call FCA at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
