2018-2019 Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner Sprinter Airbag System: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,230 model-year 2018-19 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter 1500, 2500, 3500 and 4500 vans
The Problem: The airbag systems may not have been activated after vehicle production increasing the risk of injury in the event of an accident.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the vans to determine if the airbag systems have been activated, correcting them as necessary free of charge.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner parent company Daimler Vans USA will begin notifying owners Nov. 18. Owners can call Daimler at 877-762-8267, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
