In partnership with Cars.com, we have selected the Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 as our Best Pickup Truck of 2020 from a group of updated 2020 models including the Silverado 1500 diesel, Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator and — most important — a direct competitor: the 2020 Ram 2500/3500.

Acknowledging that the heavy-duty Ram has nicer interiors than the Chevy equivalent, just like the half-ton models, our judges zeroed in on the purpose of HD trucks, which is to do work, and here we found the Silverado 2500/3500 to be superior, particularly because of its towing prowess.
The Silverado HD's specifications are impressive, but what makes a vehicle award-worthy are how it actually performs and the features and innovations it brings, and this is where we felt the winner outshone the field. The turbo-diesel 6.6-liter Duramax V-8 engine and 10-speed Allison automatic transmission in particular provided effortless towing and hauling, and the Silverado's devotion to work rose above the Ram's with features like integrated bed steps and exclusive loading placards specific to each model's vehicle identification number so you know exactly how much you can tow and haul. The in-dash trailering app includes trailer profiles, checklists, diagnostics and more. The capper was the new Advanced Trailering System, which can make a trailer disappear in the touchscreen's rear view through the use of eight cameras that additionally provide up to 15 total views.
